Just copy and paste one of the patched code.bins into SD:/luma/code_sections
Hold select when booting Luma to open up the config menu, turn on "Enable region/language emu. and ext. .code" and press start.

Extract the patched code.bins and rename them to 00175E00.code for Moon and 00164800.code for Sun.
Place it in SD:/hans/
Start up the homebrew menu and open HANS, open Pokemon through it. Finally, use the in-game QR scanner, and you're golden.

I love hearing stories about people finding shinies!
I just found a random shiny grubbin within the first hour of playing Pokemon moon. I was doing a bug monotype run as well so this is incredibly lucky! It's also mild natured, which isn't too bad! Much better than my first full odds shiny (adamant unown W in Soul Silver)

I was playing through sun, really couldnt decide on which pokemon i wanted to use. Used the island scanner and got totodile. Went to seaward cave, found my totodile and caught it. Leave cave and walking through yellow grass and find an oricorio. Saw it pop up with white pom-poms and kinda thought "Isn't that shiny?" and then I saw the sparkle and got really excited.

If any of Ash's Pokemon show up in Alola, it will be Charizard or Tauros. I could realistically see Charizard showing up to pick a fight with Tapu Koko, given it's personality, or Ash pulling out his own Taurous if riding features heavily.
Otherwise, I'd say the odds are slim. After X and Y, I just think nobody cares anymore.
We'll see Pidgeot before we see Primeape.
