Basically, you get points for items that you can use in battle.
It's a pointless feature because competitie isn't the place to be using items even if you could.

I've played it. Suffers - as you could probably imagine - from poor UI and incredibly slow battles, but it's good to pop out every now and again as a time-passing game on my phone.

This was basically the largest flaw of the game. They always held your hand, until they didn't.
Story Sequence 1:
