When does the show stop being formulaic? Particularly in regards to Team Rocket. I know it happens at some point because what I've seen of the newer seasons have been almost like a normal show. Does it start with Sinnoh?
Also was this the most fucked up injury ever shown in a battle? How did they even repair that jewel?

The anime will always be filler with a formulaic plot, regardless of region.
If you want an original story with an entertaining plot, I would stick with the Pokemon Adventures manga.

From what i heard, in BW team rocket had actually some victories, i remember watching this episode where they used a machine to hypnotize and capture audinos, they were doing pretty good until the main gang found them and destroyed the machine, but instead of being blasted away, TR actually realize they couldn't win and just jet pack'ed away.

Early BW was decent, as it did away with Team Rocket being comic relief for a while, until the EQ in Japan happened, and the arc was rushed/scrapped. Battle Frontier was also another great arc, as is Sinnoh (although there's a bit of filler, it's better to watch gyms + catch/evolve episodes + Paul episodes + league). XYZ was great until Alan v. Ash, and it went downhill from there.

Guys, Is it Possible to replay the looker sidequest in X&Y? If not, I've Found a glitch that allows you to do it
This is a summary of what I did and what happened to me:
1- I bought a Fedora in Lumiose city
2- Changed my hairstyle 3 times in a row (including hair color)
3- Went to the hidden alley nest to Restaurant Le Nah
There, I found those little kids who fight you in the first mission, Emma and Looker, who asked me to find Emma's Espurr.
And Now Looker is calling me to make another mission
