You should check your reading comprehension or your sources. In any case, the destiny knot ensures 5IVs are passed down. Each of these chosen IVs can be inheritend from either the male or the female.
Get yourself a pentaperfect couple first, shouldn't take you more than a box. Then you can fill 5+ boxes looking for a perfect mon.

I don't know what I expected

I myself don't usually forget a Pokemon, but I can definitely see how even people who make Pokemon games could forget. After all, 800+ individual monsters is quite a lot.

I actually fucking did. Some months ago I've decided to write the Kanto and Johto Dexes on a notepad because I was bored and I told myself "why the fuck not?", and I just couldn't remember Pineco's name, at all. In the end, I've saw Pineco on a ROM Hack some time after and then I was like "PINECO! IT WAS FUCKING PINECO! AAGH!".
