Will they run out of rodent species to base these after in future gens? togedemaru itself is based on a rodent called ryukyu spiny rat, yes, but it also looks a lot like a hedgehog, and plusle and minun have characteristics of rabbits. If you are one of those people that count azumarill as a pikaclone, then that line's based both on mice and rabbit.

Will gamefreak's next plush-sealing, pikachu-popularity-riding cutesy electric types be based on some other tiny mammals besides rodents? could we expect marsupial pikaclones in the future?

I've been a Pokémon fan since the first generation. Like many of you, Pokémon was a major part of my childhood. I fell in love with the anime and was intriguied by the charm of the colourful, elusive creatures. The allure of Pokémon can never be explained. There is something about the games, the atmosphere of the games and the creatures themselves that is so surreal. It captures the hearts of the young and old, alike. Every time I played a new generation for the first time, I felt a sense of adventure and youthful curiosity. When I was younger I felt a strong connection with the Pokémon themselves. They were more than my pets, in fact, I actually considered them my friends.

Things changed as I got older and I slowly began to lose interest. I'm not here to critique the franchise in any way but I made a decision that I want to move on from Pokémon in my life. I bought a 3DS for the sole purpose of playing Pokémon games. Pokémon Y is the only video game where I clocked over 1,500 hours. Pokémon was more than a hobby, it became a form of escapism for everything in my life. As much as I tried to stay away from the franchise I found myself always coming back to /vp/ and turning on my 3DS for about 3 minutes. I keep seeing references, ads, and other things related to Pokémon in other websites. It's like it follows me everywhere I go. I never realised just how much of an influence Pokémon has in the world. How do I let go of this franchise once for all ? Any advice for a man who wants to move on?

I did not want it to be a blatant substitute for Steel type, but there certainly some overlapings.

I wanted to keep it ambiguous enough, basically a type that encompasses anything technological or artificially created.

Tech Type!

Weak to Ice, because of "computer" Freeze
Weak to Ghost, because of technology "possession."

Resistant to Electric, because ????
Resistant to Poison, because non-organic. But you can have synthetic organic beings such as Mewtwo.

Supereffective against Fairy, because Fairies hate technology, or basically because artificial its the opposite of nature.
Supereffective against Steel, because ????
