After the concert, Satoshi and the others ended up getting to know DJ Leo, and then proceeded to meet a Digda that admires the Alola Dugtrio. But the Alola Dugtrio start fighting, which puts the unit at a risk of splitting up. And then the Rocket Gang showed up and took the Alola Dugtrio with them!

The only thing I give a shit about is the Dex, even just the Regional Dexes, being so bloated at this point that they have to have shitty 1% encounter rates to balance out how many Pokémon get thrown into a route every time.

Play VGC, it's the most diverse and balanced format.

Sun Moon are great games for beginners. Not much has changed battle-wise aside from telling you which moves are super effective, and the addition of Fairy type changed a bit, but that's not hard to learn. The only issue is it's super hand holdy, and it lacks a Postgame. Since you say you played up to FRLG, you probably already know how Pokemon works, and may get bored with it. Still a pretty great game over all aside from that.
/Vp/ seems to agree that Pokemon Platinum and Black/White 2 are the best ones. Maybe try out Sun Moon, then move on to Platinum and BW/BW2 if you still like it
