Almost all of my friends prefer xy to sm. The normies say they miss gyms and think the story drags on too long and the hardcore pokemon fans say they hate how OP z-moves are and how much competitive features were gutted. I keep finding out more and more friends couldn't be bothered to finish the game, some of the hardcore fans just jumped straight to competitive pokemon without bothereing to do the main game.
Yet on /vp/ it's somehow considered gospel that sm are better and any different opinion considered bait. Is it just the different age groups? My friends are all in their early 20's and people here are quite a bit younger than that.

Gamefreaks new concept of "surprising the player" is doing more harm than good. When the starters are first revealed, people grow attatched to them, but when they evolve the dump most factors that made their first form so likable.

Kinda yeah. Stuff like Mega Mawile, Protean Greninja (unsure about battle bond, cba looking into it) and even Phero are completely dogshit in Ubers despite being really strong on OU because the power gap between "strong on OU" and "strong on ubers" is fucking gigantic.

I've still never received a satisfactory answer to why Borderline tiers exist, since they're entirely a semantic thing and have no practical difference between being part of the tier above in terms of banlists, but why do they have to make it even stupider by having a single tier gap which arbitrarily doesn't get a Borderline tier?

you can't deny that after gen 4, the games got worse and worse. Pokemon black was the last playable game they made. Gen 1,2, and 3 were the best. gen 4 was fun to play but after that they got horrible. REMASTER OLDER GENS NOW

Gen 4 is only bad now because Wifi is gone and because the games are slow. If they got remakes, even if they were DP remakes, they'd be tremendously better.
We're never getting anything resembling postgame again anyway so I'm not factoring this in.

Gen 4 was my favorite for a long time, then got burnt out and replaying gens 1-3 never got old. never could bring myself to replay any games after that. If they remade gens 1-3 and put them on a New handheld device resembling gameboy or did a throwback promotion where they produced gameboys again, it'd be an amazing boost in sales. I would personally buy a new handheld system, because i never got a 3ds to play the new shitty games
