I don't use mpv but you can always hit the print screen button on your key board, open up MS Paint, and ctrl+ v to get a .png screen grab of anything on your screen. It's a bit annoying for me because I have two TVs hooked to my computer but I just easily crop the image to cut out the second monitor.

Go to your mpv configuration file (it's .config/mpv/mpv.conf under your home directory on Linux and Mac, and %appdata%\mpv\mpv.conf on Windows) and add the following lines:

screenshot-format=png
screenshot-high-bit-depth=no

The latter keeps the PNGs in 24-bit true color instead of higher depths that may result from 10-/12-bit videos, which is not what you might want.

You can also change the directory where screenshots are saved and how they are called. For example,

screenshot-template=%F-shot%n

will name them by their filename and a number.

Being able to post on /vip/ while the riff raff cancer doesn't is also nice. If you notice, /vip/ is a slow board but the posts a bit more quality than all the other off-topic boards on 4chan. I like it.

When I first joined 4chan, I never did understand why lel and kek were considered acceptable when lol wasn't.
