That is the quest you have to do in order to get thaneship from Ulfric along with assisting the people of Windhelm and being allowed purchasing a house. The house requires you complete that quest since that is where the necromancer was performing his experiments on the cadavers found around the cemetery.

Testing out an effect in my game. How does this look? Shit clothing aside, any suggestions?

the new bodyslide makes it easy.

load the outfit into outfit studio, then load a body reference, select the second option and load the unpconvert file, select the shape that the current outfit is in (unpetite or unp to cbbe, depending on the download) then click ok - the outfit will load with a unp body - now click on sliders in the menu and select conform to all - move the slider to 100%, click on sliders again and select set base shape, now load a body reference again (this time select a cbbe body). conform to sliders again (might not need to do that, but whatever) save it. close outfit studio and build your new outfit using bodyslide.

it's really easy (I didn't look at os, so maybe it's not the slider's menu and I may have left out a step or something, but that's basically all you need to do). before saving it you might need to use a brush to alter a couple spots on the outfit (expand it out) to fit properly (probably around the breasts and hip area), but it might already be a good fit also.

Get a lot of the ingredients early. Bone Meal is easy to get, grind up skeletons or just kill skeletons. Nightshade is found in Solitude, in the swamps near Solitude, and wherever graves usually are. See the items the other reanimated bodies need and just gather those ahead of time.

Kill people near Winterhold so it doesn't take too long to carry the corpse back into the Dark Midden. The road into Winterhold's main entrance and the side road leading into the mountains are where npcs usually spawn so those are good spots. Don't make deals with the Ideal Masters and their Unholy Fount or handle black soul gems until your necromancy level is higher. This way you can resist soul corruption far better. Don't forget, Erundil is in the Arcaenum. He's been added to Corpse Preparation so that he can sell you the stuff you need. His alchemy supply is absolute shit and won't even cover one skeleton animation but his supply of catguts and scrap metal is good. Also, put a corpse into the salt bath now so when you're ready for it, 30 days will likely be up.

One more thing, save before you try moving the alter, fount, or salt bath. A lot of people report severe issues when they try to move them.

I haven't tried it myself. All I can say is that it's one of the most consistently reported bugs people have with the mod. Either they have a problem setting it back down or the corpse inside the bath or atop the alter glitches out. It's either people not having the required mods, the mod acting out, or something. You should always remove corpses off the stuff you're moving anyway.

Some managed to move it to distant lairs and other homes, so I have no idea how much these items weigh once you pick them up. I would think since corpses are so unreasonably heavy no matter how strong you are, the alter and salt bath would be the same. But that's just speculation. Just remember to save before moving them around.

Yo /tesg/. A day or two ago I came in here with some issues getting back into modding. I switched from NMM to MO and, per advice in this thread, uninstalled and reinstalled Skyrim to fix mod bugs. However, the Skyrim data folder downloaded with some of my old mods still in it. I tried removing them manually, and there was no change. Now the text in the game looks like pic related. Any suggestions on how to fix this?

My favorite player home mods are:
Dev Aveza
Lakeview Extended
FC Kagrenacs Instant Fortress
Gypsie Eye Caravan

Three of those are portable, letting you set up show wherever you'd like. Dev Aveza and the Instant Fortress are also pretty homey.

Lakeview Extended is a mod that upgrades Lakeview Manor (though you have to be 100% finished building it before installing the mod) into something really damn nice. It turns it into a little gated community complete with a pool, some merchants, guards, and an enlarged garden. You should look it up, it's a fantastic player home for someone who likes the nature aspect.
One of my favorite bits is that the gates will keep out the randomly spawned giants and bandits you get with Hearthfire's homesteads, helping to keep your kids and spouse alive.
Not sure if it will stop vampires from kidnapping your spouse, though.

Yeah, that might cause issues. It apparently has some bugs with Convenient Horses, too.
Driving it can be tricky as well, but once you get the hang of it it's pretty fun.
You bounce around like a muthafucka, but in a good way.

Biggest problem is you have to find a decent sized, open, flat area to set up shop. Things can get a little odd if you don't.

Some mods can cause glitches with mannequins. I've seen it in a few, such as the Gypsie Eye Caravan and Become Jarl of Ivarstead.
It's creepy as fuck the first few times you see it.

I'm guessing it has something to do with mannequins sort of being static character models (since only they and characters can wear armour) and some slight error in the mods.

I love bodyslide, I stopped thinking on the scale of which armor do I want to wear and am now thinking on a scale of which armors do I want in my game, what do I want to replace what - I'll take this armor from that mod and that armor from this mod... can't wait, but it's gonna be so cool. everything bouncing and jiggling as it should, and stuff that shouldn't can stay static. No longer need all skimpy outfits, can pick and choose a couple from each mod.

Now i gotta get that race compatibility thing figured out though - I had it working, but ran into issues with using it as a vampire... :(
