It's a side effect of a poorly utilized character that's only in there as a form of Yamato fanservice, which is basically all the game is in the end.

It's still clearly his route even if she tries to take some of the spotlight. At least Yamato gets better treatment than Saiduq in regards to her. Saiduq revolves entirely around Miyako and she takes up a good chunk of lines that could have just as easily been explained by him and he gets turned into an idiot that causes trouble for everybody.

She should have just died after her battle like Saiduq does in every route but his own in Septentrione.

When I think about it, it felt like you can use him in your party for longer in BR than Septentrione, but I dunno if that's actually the case, I didn't actively compare. He's playable when you get him back half way in and stays that way and he's required to use for two major battles.

Alcor you see a few times before you get him back but he's absent for the most part until mid last day and that's when he's playable.

Miyako also isn't playable until last day. She becomes playable the same time Alcor does. I can't give you any specific tips on how to use her. Yamato's saving grace is his exploitable innate resistances (phys + almighty) that with a single skill you can easily turn him into an indestructible tank, and Miyako lacks his phys resistance so you have to waste more on her and it's not worth it with her shit stats.
