I can definitely remember Strange Journey being hell. Especially compared to every other SMT I've played thus far. Was just joking around a little. I need to go back to it one of these days to see if it lives up to my memories and all of experience I have with the franchise now.

I read an interview from Kaneko and he seemed like he really wanted people to invest a lot of time into the game like a console game instead of a portable game, like you said. The second time I ever had a fusion mess up trying to fuse an Oni and Ose for a Pyro Jack I got a lvl 50 Decarabia with Agidyne and Melidolia.

I will try and continue grinding, that tip of only using the MC is pretty helpful, been grinding all of them this whole time.

Is the easiest way to grind, just to go to the top floor of the dungeon and keep finishing it over and over?

I love mapping out areas and such even if it doesn't matter, but I couldn't bring myself to fully explore the Tower of Kagutsuchi. It was just too much. The demons weren't even the problem, just the constant encounters with them along with the constant warping back. It was just silly. Really, most of the dungeons were tedious thinking about it now. At least everything else is pretty great about Nocturne. To me, anyway.

Not really bad so much as it is incredibly tedious. At least, for the mapper within me. Plus, at that point, you've gone through at least 10 of these giant warp mazes in a row at the final point of the game. At that point, I just wanted to kill all my friends and fight Kagutsuchi.

The way I always do it is just a single trip during a rainy day or something or when there's nothing to do. Only time I had to take two days was during Yukiko's dungeon. Before the next dungeon, you should really rank up the Hermit social link so you can stay in the dungeon forever, if need be.

Also, a small tip regarding that. If you heal your party with a Mediarama or two before talking to the fox if you're missing 100 or more HP on everyone, it will cost significantly less to heal. Very useful, even in other Persona/SMT games where it costs money to heal. Seems that it's more so based off of total points rather than SP costing more than HP, thus why having a bunch of HP missing makes the price skyrocket.

It's actually not the warp points themselves you need to remember but the locations associated with them. Once you can go "right, I'm at X location meaning I'm in front of Y warp point to Z location" and end up reliably making forward progress, then you're golden. The reason a lot of people have problems with warp/teleporter puzzles is that they don't really pay much attention to the environment.

I had no issue with the first warp hell and the first subway tunnel dungeons. But when they pulled them out again it just felt like they were trying too hard to come up with ways to extend playtime. And they specifically put in Rangda, Yurlungur, and Mada together so you can't get by with party attacks. I fought them anyway since I had 99 Chakra Drops and Dante, but it was just silly. I wish they switched up the demons on each floor, honestly. Would've kept it a bit more interesting. Could've made a few other bosses or high level Demons pop up as well. Or even thrown in a few more mini-bosses, like Thor.

That always bothered me. You've got 3 leaders of reasons trying to reach the tower, and none of their followers seem to be trying to stop you. Other than Thor, there are some NPC demons saying "OUR LEADER IS GOING TO KICK YOUR ASS SO HARD" but none of them actually fight you.

Yeah, kind of disappointing thinking back on it. I just finished it today, actually. The Lucifer fight made up for any wrongs the game had committed though. After the past 20 boss fights were nothing, Lucifer put me back in my place, I loved it.

It's funny, since I had thought how crazy it was that Masakado just gives you this incredibly overpowered Magatama, but you actually truly need it for that final battle.

Kind of sad that the original release didn't have that or Amala. Good decision to re-release it with that added in. Really feels like a full game with it and the Fiends. And Dante.

I think Isabeau would make a good big sister. She has that kind of accepting and warm personality. She'd be the kind of person that you'd come out to first because you know she'd accept you.

Kind of weird how we get these big spurts of activity (3 posts a minute) for a bit but just as suddenly stop and go dead for hours.
