What's the best game to start off with? I've never played any Megaten games. I've heard Strange Journey is fairly good at providing the player with information on critical aspects and is gentle with the demon talk, and Persona 3 is fairly easy but still solid all around.

I dislike Persona 3 and 4 and can't understand how people can unironically like those shitty games but I have nothing against anyone discussing them here because it's actual discussion unlike the shitposting which makes up most of these threads like almost all other generals.

Seriously, how can anyone like Persona 3 and 4? The gameplay is one of the worst of this franchise and the story isn't really that good that it would make up for it. Even the waifu aspect isn't great, S-Links are completely isolated, you can go out with all girls and it doesn't even have an impact on the story.
Shadows are probably the most boring enemies in the history of MT, there's no negotiation, the only time demons appear is those few seconds when they get summoned as personae (which, I admit, isn't that bad), dungeons are not even dungeons at all and in P3 they look almost completely the same for the whole game (except those on full moon) etc.
Yeah, I started with P3 and went on to 4 and really liked them because of the demons and freudian touch I never encountered in video games but after I played Nocturne and other games, I couldn't look at P3 and 4 ever again.
Please, I'd like to know how someone who has played other games of the franchise can still like them that much.

I like them for the characters and the symbolism. P3 has a lot of references to Freud, so you aren't too far off, and P4 has quite a few references to Nietzsche. The idea of "The Fog" was taken literally in Persona 4. All of the characters rejected truth, while constantly seeking it. Teddie was the biggest representation of this, since he constantly would seek the meaning of his existence, while the answer was always right in front of him. Persona 4 is riddled with this sort of literary irony, but it's often ignored by the fanbase entirely.

So SMTG, I Just got finished beating Hell biker. The fiends so far have been pretty average in terms of difficulty. I really only had a problem with matador the first time I fought him because I didn't switch my demon that absorbed force magic fast enough. I haven't really been grinding either.

The way they were built up I thought that I would have a harder time or that I would have to go for a more specific strategy. Does it get much harder than buffing/debuffing and spamming focus and physical attacks?
