I for one wouldn't say 'butchered' as much as 'dumbed down like crazy'. Yosuke was edited down considerably to get his whole SL into one episode. Yukiko's entire dream sequence makes her problems look even more ridiculous than they already were. They pretty much skip over Rise completely for the sake of that shitty song. Naoto loses pretty much all of her external development completely because they didn't get around to it.

Chie is virtually untouched, probably because she had so little to begin with that they could adapt her plot without much issue.

Yu's established character isn't exactly high quality but at least makes sense until the Golden anime fucked it over during the Adachi arc. Marie did not help in this regard.

The main point is that months later, long after they've had plenty of time to mull things over, no one brings up the letters ever again. The game just keeps going 'did you make the right decision?' It's overall much shittier than P3's bad ending at least, where the reasons you were roped into it were pretty clear.

Though Naoto suddenly goes 'actually, there's one huge thing that can very easily turn this over that I forgot about until just now' mere moments after Yu screams at everyone and Yosuke is still insisting that he's retarded, so at least she wasn't THAT distressed during that whole scene.

It's also worth pointing out they should've been questioning Namatame's whole 'saving' angle in terms of the warning letters the second they got his diary. But they didn't then, they didn't during the fight, and they didn't during the (potential) weeks after rescuing Nanako either.

Actually I really liked some of the social things in P2

After every mission if you went to a different location, I would talk to the entire party and get new dialogue. Hell the dialogue is always different for each location as well.

Pretty soon, after every mission, i would go to all the locations and talk to the whole party. Fun stuff

Ken is actually really nice for the endgame where having team members that can serve more than one function are useful. Koro, Junpei, and Mitsuru are the only ones that really arent' worth it. Yukari is kind of like Yu in PQ - makes the early game pretty casual, but ultimately isn't optimal.

You really should have at least two primary physical attackers. This game isn't really like other games in the series - your focus should be on having instant death spells and physical damage rather than a bunch of dedicated magic users (though one is still necessary at times). Agility Bind + Myriad Arrows is one of the most broken combos in the entire game and can very easily destroy end game bosses and FOEs. Aigis can do around 10k with one use if you set her up with shit like Shura Tensei + Power Charge + Orgia Mode.

I'm guessing you're not playing on Risky, then. Awhile ago we established that the best team was Aigis and Shinji in front, P3MC, Naoto for dungeon crawling or Yosuke for bosses, and Raisin in back, but you can still get a little more creative than that.

You can keep either Mitsuru or Yukari, but not both. Having them both there is wasting a slot. Junpei is outclassed by pretty much everyone, you might as well have Yu instead since his ultimate persona has insane resistances + Heat Riser, though neither are really optimal.

You can get Shura Tensei skill cards from Rakshasa (LV 24). Be aware that the buff lasts forever but anyone using it loses half their max HP at the end of their actions.

It's pretty easy to set up so you heal all your health at the end of the turn so Shura Tensei is not that bad. You can always Lunar Blessing to keep them safe too.

There are some pretty easy ways to get around it, actually. You could get Yomi Return on a Persona to help offset the damage or just use Fuuka. Her healing skills are pretty busted.

If you're worried about bosses killing you before you get a heal off, you really shouldn't. most of the end game bosses don't do enough damage to kill anyone from half health, even on the highest difficulty. That and Fuuka's healing is a little OP.

The secret boss is a different story, though.

Once I got the Ma-Lu reverse on Yosuke I was surprised by how useful he became. Gets nearly a crit every turn. With a little help from Warrior Title.
