honestly, most of the cast is relatively easy since they all have an auto-combo, just play with someone you like and learn how to combo and you'll be fine. I haven't played Rise enough to get a good idea on how to work her.

I think the general consensus on /pg/ when he was initially revealed that he was a stupid faggot. When we got more details on him we began to warm up to him and laughed at his tryhard edgy behavior. We still laughed at him even when the game was released.

How do you guys control space/movement in your matches? I've never played these kinds of fighters, being vastly different from SF. I find myself dialing in combos like a machine, but that's only in training. When I'm in an actual match I mash like a retard when moving around, so how do you guys control your movement?
I'm thinking about playing Teddie exclusively now. People online seem like they don't understand how to deal with him and I'm not even really good.

Sho is one of the best Persona characters in a while, mostly thanks to how hilariously horrible his edge was.
The Plume inside him was also a pretty likable character in a totally different way. Despite being overly serious, it was surprisingly sympathetic and agreeable for an antagonist. Aside from the whole "destroy the world" business.
Shame they were pretty much the only redeeming quality of this game's fucking story.

For Adachi, it's different than most characters. If they have a good poke in neutral that you can't jump over and counter with j.C, you have to stay out of range and call certain things with 236A A and gunshot SB. When you've grabbed your opponent with 5C, you can end with gunshot A or 236A A, one pushes them further to the corner and the other gives you oki (gunshot).
You're either at the far end or in their face. If you're at full screen, test them with 5D and 2D should they be doing anything but trying to cover ground. And remember your Reversal Action covers a lot of ground, hits overhead and can be cancelled into a super.
If they have good air normals, all you have air to air is j.B, so instead remember 2B is your anti-air and 2C is for calling them out if they're jumping around too often.
I generally just set a certain time for combo grind. After that, I put it away and come back to it another time. It's nice to come back with a fresh mind and find yourself automatically hitting chains that used to feel impossible.
Oh, basically you recover before them, allowing you to continue attacking as if they try to they will get counterhit by your attack, and therefore have to block or use their reversal action.
So gunshot ender -> run up 5A/5B into block string or run up and block if you think they'll reversal.

oki is a fighting game term meaning okizeme, meaning they have to guess on their wakeup what you will do.

sweep is kinda awful unless you're on okizeme, anything from a 2A to a 5B will beat your ass. Good to try on gunshot, terrible fucking shit for its startup on neutral, memefriend.
And yes, you do test them with 2D if they're trying full screen persona setups.
It's hard if you want to actually tennis it, if you mash it Magatsu will whiff for obvious reasons. You also have to dash before the 2C launch or it won't reach you on the way back, at least not consistently.
i was talking about combos. after 5c you sweep>gunshot or sweep>pain in the ass. you'd never use it on oki, good lord. you want meaty 5a for oki almost always.
unrelated to that, with the sweep system changes in ultimax it low-profiles many attacks.
testing anything with 2d, or using it much at all aside from guaranteed hits(yosuke sukukaja fullscreen like an idiot, super punishes, combo use, etc.) is stupid. it's almost guaranteed to be hit costing you a card, and now you're one card closer to being broken and crippled, and also losing any buffs you had(because getting stand crashed makes heat riser and magatsu mandala go byebye.)
to clarify: SB gunshot counter will scare your opponent because it tracks and easily gives you a combo, you don't spam it but you are supposed to use it as you would a poke. If you have 75 meter it's a easy Heat Riser combo from far-midscreen. 214SB 236A A Heat Riser A 2C hop j5C 66 5B 2B 2C.
Sweep->gunshot works sure but that depends on the combo, if you're ending a longer combo with 5C grab sweep->gunshot you actually end up losing oki because the opponent recovers faster. That's why I said it as general advice, so don't be so nitpicky. This is especially prevalent when it comes to sweep->236A A, they can actually recover straight to your face or way out of your range with no trouble in the air.
Testing with 2D is worth at least one card, if they punish it once you just stop unless you can confirm a really big whiff or j.2D someone under you and interrupt them before they can punish it.
There is also 2D (blocked) 214SB gunshot into a heat riser combo or mandala OMB, both of which are way fucking worth it. If the opponent is obviously mindful of 2D it doesn't necessarily mean they'll call that, I've turned around a few matches that way. On the other hand, if they block both, you still have advantage on blocked gunshot, and you don't lose a card.
On that Vita TV stream, Jeff said the Golden intro was icky and the vanilla intro is the good one.
still, think about it. it's a poke you spent 25 meter on for a non-guaranteed combo that would also take another 50 meter for. that's halfway to another juggle combo via heat riser, or halfway to mandala. hell, if they're in the air at all it's wasted.
less hitstun at the end after sweep>gunshot is virtually irrelevant for how absurdly positive gunshot is on any hit, and it's just one extra hit. if you're positive, and you can meaty 5a, you don't "lose" oki. oki is not a gauge that fills up, you don't lose it like that. i only do sweep>236AA if it's going to guaranteed put them in the corner, or if they are already in the corner because now you can threaten air throws and the like.
i will agree maybe in a long set it's worth a card but anybody with two braincells to rub together can push 2A and bust it on block. i also disagree with j.2d above them, many characters can punish you on the way down AND bust the card in one fell sweep depending on where you are. if they can't, now you're banking that your pitiful 6 frame 5A will beat anything they're throwing out.
yeah yeah sb gunshot is positive and all but and OMBing a heat riser combo? that's what omb is for, it lets you launch into a loop WITHOUT a heat riser, or off of a throw/air throw in the corner like you can get above. he needs gold burst way too much to use omb willy nilly. you didn't lose a card and you're advantage, that's fine. but that 25 meter was also a sweep punish into upwards of 3k. it's just that much closer to another heat riser/mandala/full screen punish atom smasher. it's an SB pain in the ass comboing into ghastly wail.
It's honestly not that bad for opening people up. For example, 5AA 5B 5C 236AA, pushes opponent toward corner but you don't actually have oki here, you have to cover a little distance. You can make that really hurt by going for 66 214 SB instead, baiting them into trying to catch you running in and getting counterhit into a riser combo, which ends with them in the corner. Even if it's not counterhit if you did it right you get a combo, but grab riser 2C ender instead of optimal MJC. Still puts opponent in corner which means scary command grab shenanigans.
There are times when the starter is unoptimal or the combo is too long, and even if you sweep gunshot A they still recover fast enough that you can't meaty 5A them, in fact you can't 5A them at all before they can interrupt you. That's why players like Pet sometimes don't go for sweep into gunshot and just gunshot, in his matches v Tachihi and DIE-chan.
Usually the j.2D business is a crossup deal. You jump over them, B+C j.2D, and land behind them with a falling j.B or A depending on which way you land. So their AA attempt or DP will likely fail. Of course if you just jump at them and j.2D they can straight punish you.

I just finished Persona 4 Golden. Epilogue was great but I felt the true ending should've been the only ending, or at least the default one. Felt tacked-on, like a last minute afterthought to etap things up rather than a proper ending.
Persona 3's finale was much stronger

True ending didn't have a huge impact because the game made you feel as if everything had been tied up neatly already. I was like a PS rather than a grand finale like reaching the top of Tartarus in 3. Ameno-Sagiri didn't feel like the big bad and Izanami didn't either

Let's make a brief rundown of the social links, while the game is fresh on my mind:
-Yosuke does not change at all. His problem is being bored shitless in Inaba and being desperate for human contact which might have something to do with him being very immature. Life pretty much solves that problem for him in a way that does not require him to grow up. His SLink is getting over the fact that his pseudoGF wouldn't have given him any, not learning to have a real relationship.
-Chie. "You want to be a superhero because that will make others dependent on you!" "Wrong, you shitty shadow, I want to be a superhero because I want to protect others!" That's pretty much the sum total of her "development".
-Yukiko. She accepts her desire to get away from the role she was born into just to realize that this desire was badwrong after all. She ends at the exactly same place where she starts, though with her it is at least handled more gracefully than with Chie.
-Kanji. Despite being a walking gay joke, he's probably the best written of the main cast, as he actually realises that his attempts at hypermasculine behavior really just make him a jerk and works to change that. I'll give you him.
-Rise, like Yukiko, pretty much goes full circle and just learns a way to relax and enjoy her role in life.
-Naoto I'll give you too. Her internal conflict is about discarding a mask life put onto her, and unlike Rise and Yukiko she actually does that and it sticks. Only her romance is written badly ("You helped me in an unrelated thing, time to jump on your cock!").
-Teddie does not change in the slightest, becoming only more and more obnoxious, he simply gets aware of who he is.
So out of 7 party members, only 2 truly had realized the error of their ways and affected meaningful changes upon themselves.

I'd argue that Yosuke pretty explicitly realises he was being shit over the course of his link, his jealously of Yu is pretty explicit, by the end decides he's ok with being a sideline player in boring inaba as long as he gets ~friends~. It's a bit hackneyed, but it's there.

Yukiko's rebellion over the inn is about trying to establish a feeling of control that she doesn't have, she stops when she realises that doing so means abandoning all her friends and family at the inn (this is the 'being a dick part') and then realises that she always had control over the situation and that the inn staff would've supported her anyway, the issue was only in her head because she thought she was weak
Kanji pretty explicitly states that acting like a punk doesn't do him any favours and that trying to conceal his hobbies also means he's being ingenuine to people and making himself feel bad too, so yeah.
Rise, after spending her link saying that Risette meant nothing and was fake (dick part) realises that Risette did make an impact on people and that she still represented a facet of Rise, not something separate
Life doesn't put that mask on Naoto, she does, because her self confidence is too in the gutter to just be herself
So I'd say it's more like 5/7, you could probably make an arguement for Chie too but my eyes kind of glaze over when doing her link

As far as I remember my feelings as a teen, ever admitting that I'm an asshole was pretty difficult then, so for their age this might be a good point. And well, they are teenagers after all, can't say it is inappropriate.
But being a middle-aged man now, I cannot help but notice that realizations of being in the wrong and promises to himself to change are increbibly cheap and more often than not followed by people not changing at all.
My interpretation of Yukiko was that she assumed that a person in her position should of course want more, and that other people were in charge of her future. She then realizes that she was happy where she was all along and is free to leave whenever she wants. Not happiness in servitude which I see tossed around.
Rise is pretty much the same thing I think. Their lives are bearable, and fine because they aren't trapped.

Sometimes you are genuinely wrong. For Rise and Yukiko their dissatisfaction stems from issues of their self-concept that negatively effect issues other than their immediate environment, and would likely follow them even if they did change course. Yukiko would still consider herself weak and helpless and Rise would still be a walking identity crisis.

And that's where Erebus came to be, a monster that came from the hearts of people that is calling for their death and that is Nyx.
Philemon and Nyarly can be explained by mankinds development of the concept of Good and Evil.
I can't really see that. Because it's not implying that everyone should stay in their current situation, only that you shouldn't reject a situation just for the sake of something new.
Yukiko's situation is a lot like the Fortune link in P3, but I think it was handled a bit better. I can understand why she'd be frustrated at the prospect of people assuming she'd take over the inn, but I think the progression also makes sense.

If Aigis had her mantinace done and not of been nerfed by the crosses would she have been able to fight Kagutsuchi like Labrys did? Yu was only able to stand up to him by using bond power while Labrys beat him down on her own with just words of encouragement from everyone else.

The problem is that the fanbook makes Erebus redundant. By the mechanics of the fanbook, it is possible to summon Nyx just by the general state of the CU being negative or death-wishy, without the need of an intermediary. The desire to die isn't even really shown as a human thing, it's portrayed more as being in a state where you aren't happy enough to actively resist her omnipresent influence within the CU. Since that's what the clubbook states the CU is about - it's a defense mechanism from Nyx, while also being Nyx.
Answer establishes that Erebus is necessary to summon Nyx, and your idea of Erebus being a CU construct fits in there.
