The damage loss is minor compared to the SP cost, especially if you're going for Shadow Yukiko on the 18th (which means you'll be fighting through the miniboss Knight and the trashmobs). Even in Golden you probably want to conserve SP between killing Prince Charming and Shadow Yukiko activating Burn To Ashes, since you've probably used up all your TaP and Soul Drops fighting your way up.

Margaret gets her persona cards back at double speed. She gets them back as fast as someone with 4 cards.

Well there are only three major boss fights at endgame. Marie, which is a special fight with its own rules, Margaret which is a long and involved fight, and Izanami. Sho is Ikutsuki's adopted son. Ikutsuki shoved a plume of dusk into him to force him to manifest a Persona. Instead the ego in the plume of dusk awoke, and manifested a Persona, while Sho remained without, though he did devlop a penchant for violence. Ikutsuki declared the whole thing a failure and disowned Sho.

Sho is edgeman and wants the world to end to create a new world just for him because he's sad. Minazuki, the ego in the plume of dusk, thinks that's a brilliant idea and encourages this and helps out. The make a deal with a being called Kagutsuchi to end the world and shit. Kagutsuchi needs persona power(tm) to manifest in the real world.

Shock and horror, Kagutsuchi was using them the whole time and is just going to destroy the world, including Sho. Adachi and Yu ascend a false Tartarus with some other irrelevant characters and merge their Izanagis into a sword and kill Kagutsuchi.

Make sure you keep either masukukaja up on everyone or sukunda up on him, along with matarukaja and rakunda. Have power/mind charge up as often as you can.
Make sure you have makarakarn/magic mirror up on Yu before he uses quad converge. Have everyone except Yu guard on the turn he uses quad converge to scout out what the element change is.
As long as quad converge is active, only the element he uses against you will have any effect. Swap to a persona that resists or nulls that element. If one of your party members is weak to that element, have them guard, and if it's Yukiko, have someone else acting as backup healer (either Teddie or items).
Quad converge resets after about three turns.

When he's at about 1/3 health, swap to Shiki-Ouji.
