But here's the thing. The player is at least in part the character at least for your specific playthrough. There are things the player can't change, and some things which are open to interpretation. But Atlus is as Atlus does, and Atlus is one to always leave these things vague. They make options all plausible but not definite. Hell, look at moments like this in Arena or look at the whole Chidori thing. They'll beat around the bush forever, and that's the smarter choice anyway.

Oh, I just asked because I replayed EP like one week ago, and Katsuya said something about playing the Persona game with his brother when they were little.

To be honest even though I finished the game twice, I'm still confused about a lot of things, okay I've the general idea, and that's how the end should be, but I've always wondered if This Side Tatsuya inherited in some way a part of Other Side Tatsuya behavior (and the others too, besides Maya), and if they ended up being friends again, but of course not like the first time.

Other Side Maya is dead, so there's nothing EP Maya could inherit from her. Most of the problems from EP was because the Eikichi, Lisa and Jun from the newly created side were remembering events that had a) not happened on their side and b) led to the destruction of most of the world, creating a Paradox.

They're a bit vague on what becomes of IS' Tatsuya; he returns to the other side or recedes into a shadow. However, Tatsuya has no memories of the events of IS or EP because his body was being controlled by the original Tatsuya for most of the game. Maya, Katsuya, Baofu and Ulala all remember the events of EP since those weren't the actual memories causing distortion throughout the city.

It's why the ending to EP is poignant. Maya sees Tatsuya and considers speaking to him, but decides not to because he isn't the boy she came to know through EP. They all go their separate ways. Though if Katsuya and Tatsuya did play the Persona game as children, then new Tatsuya could still have the potential. I think the Persona 3 interviews state that Tatsuya is in his 20s, though a few years younger than he should be, as with all characters interviewed on Trish's talkshow.

The Tatsuya at the end of EP knows nothing about the events of the game. The way it works out is that Tatsuya rejects Philemon's offer, and when the new world is created, a Tatsuya who exists as he would had he never met Maya, Jun or Eikichi as a child comes to exist. It was about Aigis; a few years after the answer, she decides to try and revive MC with the help of Elizabeth by creating a Anti-Shadow-Weapon version of him.
The idea is really good for a drama/romance story, but it ends up becoming so stupid and outlandish. Like she goes into the TV world and shit... And the P4 cast gets involved... It just sounds like they started going in the direction of Arena instead of creating something new.

oh man i missed chie's old voice. yep she sound bored most of the time, and yup, AHA IS THIS OUR CHANCE and MY TRIAL OF THE DRAGUUUUUN are awful but some scenes, specially after she awakes her persona, are just so good and fitting. It's true. Even in mainline titles, Press Turn can be abused to hell and back. Hell, we can complain about how easy P3/4 get, but by the end of other games I end up just abusing exploits or over powered attacks the entire time and one-shotting most battles.
