Complete damned overhauls on every last one.

The designs are alright, but damned if they look inefficient and unsafe. Start by changing from the steel(I'm assuming from the rust) to preferably a titanium frame for the endoskeleton. Equal or better strength for a little more than half the weight.

Next, get rid of the teeth on the damn endoskels. They damage the suits when installed and are a hazard. Replace the jaws in general with materials that'll bend a LOT faster than human flesh will break. Like maybe thin aluminum.

Next, shrink them down. Not to kid-height, but like teenager height, Freddy being the tallest. Makes them easier to shove around and they'll be less able to damage themselves under their own weight.

As to appearance changes, I'm looking to appeal to the 'family-fun' oriented parent or guardian first, the kids second, so start by making them an actual family. Freddy keeps the teddy appearance with the father-face, but the hat gets bigger. Maybe have him do some fuckin' magic. Chica's made out to be the baby if she keeps the bib, smallest design of the bunch. Bonnie's the motherly type, play that up and have her be about Freddy's size. And if they're all a family, have Foxy be the elder sibling to Chica, the imaginative, mischievous child-standin. Genders are left ambiguous, Chica and Foxy are adopted if anyone asks.

Have a cartoon commissioned, 5 episodes minimum. I'd show those on a loop with cheesy commercial bumps and some music videos that'd be similar to what Cartoon Network used to do, where it's a bunch of random artist interpretations(carefully pre-screened, of course). The band 'plays' during these videos, it's just a matter of synching everything as close as possible.

Redesign the Fun Room so that the ball-pit's got a hidden fluids drain and ball drain. Balls are drained into a custom washer every night, pit is sprayed down with cleansers and a monthly check on the drains to make sure they aren't starting to collect any 'materials'. Arcade setup, I'd try and get it hooked into some sort of collective system, that way kids could have accounts that they'd want to maintain and come back to. No shovelware, if a game gets a low rating, it's stripped out. If it's a Fazbear special, then the game is made free for all with a leaderboard attached for a few months first to see if that helps it pick up.

Parties would play up the family aspect of things. Make the kid feel like part of the band, none of that 'employees come out and squawk-sing' shit. Have the ability in the kitchen to make ice cream cakes that look like pizzas. Have a balloon drop built into the ceiling.

The thing with Free Play arcade machines is that you're going to get people who hog them. That means the other kids don't get a try, meaning a whole bunch of pissed off kids because one of them wanted "Just one more go" on Time Crisis.

A better system would be able to implement the account system, and give kids 2-3 free games per day on the Fazbear special that month. Keeps it fair, and means that you don't forfeit revenue from that machine completely for a couple of months.

I'm not against supporting characters. Part of the reason for the cartoon would be to test popularity of new designs. If a character's not popular, no animatronic is made and they're quietly slipped out of the cartoon if possible. If they're popular, start with them being a puppet and then maybe fully instituted, but the more full animatronics you have, the less special Fazbear, Bonnie, Chica, and Foxy are by comparison. Compare it to X-men, Sonic, or any long-standing series that adds new characters. Any new characters tend to bring down the lines as a whole among fans with rare exceptions, and I'd want to avoid that. Gotta keep that branding strong.

That's the beauty of the arcade system I'd try and institute. With a few exceptions, all machines could play all the games(there'd be 3D ride-types that couldn't easily be replicated). The most I'd do with a machine would have it have some special property for the game(like if you play a game on a Foxy machine, he gets a bonus, whether you're playing against him or as him.). I'd also make them available via some sort of web-service, so that kids could power up their characters at home and then play against each other in person at the restaurant.

My memory is a bit hazy since this was over 7 years ago. Really really old drawhore where a poorly drawn dog thing asked /b/ for shelter and then over the course of about 6 threads was tortured in spite of /b/'s protests and, I think, eventually died. Most posters agreed it was very sad and an unusual display of empathy for a fictional character on behalf of the userbase, which endeared her to said fanbase and cemented her status in the annals of 4chan history.
