It's a tough call, but I'll just be devil's advocate here.
Emi may have been a little forceful, but that's why people like her. She never really balked when Hisao seemed aloof, and managed to get him on the track.
In the end, Hisao appreciated her for it and it's one of the reasons why he fell in love with her.
Miki has seemed to be built up as more of a 'lax' character, and might not get Hisao, or me as the question asks, to all of those runs needed.
Emi's certainly capable of fun, she liked hanging out in occasions other than running, it's not as if that's what she's all about. Heck, if someone were more enthusiastic, there might even be more possible activities than a picnic every now and then.
It's a tough call for me. Emi's overall cuteness might win me over. Those pouts, man.

I casually shut the door behind me, watching the beams of sunlight shrink down to a mere sliver before vanishing entirely. I consider bidding them a formal farewell -for a second- but I decide against it. I’ll see them soon again when Hanako and I are out on the town.

I definitely am looking forward to our date today. Since she’s started spending nights out with the newspaper club, I haven’t been able to spend as much time with her as I’d like. I really used Rika as a vehicle for a very unusual story that didn't really have much to do with her character profile. The fact that I added all that extra junk to her means to me that it'd be easy to write a completely different character based on the limited "canonical" details about her. So really a comparison isn't as fair as it might seem. My character of her was highly original and just involved some research into her condition and some connecting-the-dots between herself and the main character.

Someone else's story about her doesn't really interest me for the same reason most KS fanfiction doesn't interest me. I'm just no longer into it. Actually I never really was much of a fanfiction reader even back in the day, I just did it to support my friends who were writers, really. Never got much enjoyment out of it myself.
