I played this for like 2 weeks on release but got fed up with the server problems, im looking to sink my teeth into an MMO and was wondering if this is still worth getting into?

I dont want to jump into an MMO and find out 90% of the servers are dead and everyone stops doing any real content 6 months down the road.

Yes its worth. Its easier than ever to get into, now. Right now some servers are preferred and give you double exp for any job up to level 60 (70 is the cap), and 15 days free sub time.

A dead server means nothing because open world content is only used for leveling. Everything with any worth in this game is instanced, and all instanced content pulls from your ENTIRE data centre, not just your server. Server only matters for what Free Company (guild) you can join and who you can chat with. (Which wont matter soon either, next patch is bringing cross-world tells and cross-world chat soon after).

Monk at 70 is really just keeping up your timers (Demolish, Dragon Kick, Twin Snakes) while using your damaging moves (Bootshine, True Strike, Snap Punch) if you dont need to apply them. It works out to being Dragon/Twin every other combo, Demolish every 3rd combo. Weave in oGCDs on cooldown since monk CDs all line up.

Opener is Form Shift x3 prepull, Demolish + Perfect Balance > Snap Punch > Snap Punch > Dragon Kick > Twin Snakes > True Strike (PB Falls off here) Bootshine > True Strike > Snap Punch > etc etc etc

They don't have a bad community.

At the moment RDM is one of the easiest jobs and at the same time offers some extremely high dps capabilities.

You will need to level a DIFFERENT job to 50 first, if you start from scratch. Or you can pay money to jump potion your main scenario progress and jump potion a job to 60.

If you start from scratch, expect between 1-2 weeks to reach red mage. But as soon as you hit 50 you can unlock it, very easy to do. And they give you free gear.

Maybe that isn't for you which is fine but, know that some people will get a use out of it. And that also, 4.1 provides way more to the players than just that. It's a patch that has something for everyone really.

Stormblood is what destroyed the bench. Logically so as most bench-shitters went off to play the new content, however after already exploring the new zones they would return to the bench.
But SE was't having this, oh no. Too much congestion, no more idling. 30 minute kick timer.
This killed Ul'dah entirely for a while, for weeks you could go to the quicksand in the evening and it would look like a current screenshot of Mateus.

Between 3k+ entrance queues, server moves fucking over eurofags, and kick timers, many bench-shitters transferred to varying places to try and escape, bringing some of their friends with them. It was too late to realize there's even less to do on dead-ass backwater servers, and now they're fucked out of Balmung. Hence the new push for Mateus and Odin, so they can have friends again.

Also Kugane is pretty comfy and a lot of ebins idle there now around the marketboard.

Bokairo and Bokaisen are alone time RP territory.
Rakusui gardens are also RPer territory, with no nearby idling spots for OOC, and minimal seating area.
Both bridges are mostly featureless, though many idle there still.
Sekiseigumi are too far from the action despite being quite beautiful.
The rest are too far from nearby aetherytes to be a good spot, and even further from the action.

Shiokaze Hostelry is basically the quicksand now, and there are multitudes of benches just outside, but few people sit there and most prefer the markets for some reason.
Maybe if more people sat there, more would come, meaning more would sit there? Try it out I guess, try to get groups to idle there.

Raiding is the least fun piece of content in this game. Savage raiding. It's banging your head against a wall, then you down it, get a 10 seconds long endorphins/adrenaline rush as you feel satsifcation, then it's doing the same shit every week for more savage gear you don't even need, because you already downed it with what you had, and there's nothing else.

If anything, this MMO should embrace what it is, a casual/social game, and shit out more content like chocobo racing, potd, or now the music thing. It caters to more people and keeps the game alive.

I disagree. While those two may look the best the lizard guys look alright, and the midlanders look great as well. That is the best part about midlanders. They may not look the best, but they look just fine as ALL of the classes. If you wanted to actually play every job on one character, midlander is the best for that. They are the jack of all trades.

They're fun to mess around with and can pull off a lot of glamours that other races can't. The worst things that will happen to you is having to put up with weirdo beardo MUH ELEZEN WAIFU comments in the thread that are annoying but there's not much that can be done about hardcore elf fetishists with no self-awareness. You have to figure that stuff out yourself per fight.

Elusive jump usage is a good start. Take note on where would be best to use it and how; to squeeze out DPS before eating a point blank aoe, for positioning, or gap closer. Don't forget about your sprint. If you know a knockback mechanic is coming up like in O1S, preposition by facing away from the boss the second the spell goes off. If you time things right, you can stay on top of the boss with EJ.

Players like momo are great because they are identifying these opportunities, experimenting, and using what they learn to optimise. Just keep in mind how often you're on the boss and be on the lookout for creative ways you can stay hitting it
