Just finished my first playthough here. I'm conflicted about whether or not to start my second playthrough on a higher difficulty. On one hand, the normal battles were pretty easy for the most part, but I was constantly destroyed by commander battles even though I trained in dungeons.

Hey guys, first time player here - what's with the Revolt thing in my provinces in Sengoku Rance? I cannot find it on wiki and I might've accidentally skipped the explanation because of my gf yapping at me for playing instead of doing her.

The revolt starts after you find yourself at war with the Tenshi Sect.

There is an action that shows in each province that you own that shows the progress of a revolt. If it reaches 100% the revolt fires, but only one revolt takes place each turn.
If you take that action the progress will be reset to 0%. It will keep happening until the Tenshi are defeated.

You can just let the revolt happen and use 1 commander to defeat the rebels, they are very weak. And with only one rebellion happening whenever it is set to happen, it is better to do this instead of wasting one of your action fans to stop the rebellion.

I played Evenicle but none of the Rance games, how to they compare with Evenicle?

I though Evenicle was very enjoyable. If I had to point out its flaws I'd say the plot became a little uninteresting around the last parts of the game, and there was little depth to the battle system. Also, this is not really a complaint but there were not nearly enough events focused simply on being cute and/or hear-warming.

1) Yuzuhara Yuzumi (obvious)
2) Ogawa Kentarou (helpful for a particular fight)
3) Uesugi Kenshin (only in low difficulties, her own route {maybe? I've never even tried using one there} and runs where you're doing a lot of dungeons).

Rance is actually a bad choice since he can cap his Actions via SAT bonuses (I think).

As for the texbooks 1s, it largely depends on what you have. Improving some Cavarly units is a favourite choice of mine.
