The Fujin Yumi endows Takumi with strength and skill he doesn't normally have, so it's reasonable to expect that Siegfried offers the power to not be excessively heavy in Xander's hand.

Outside if the gameplay that locks each sacred weapon to its owner, does the story/dialogue ever imply that only the owners can wield each weapon? I know the weapons can be passed down when the time is right, but I question if any random person who picked the weapons up would be able to use them.

Customizable backstory again, please. It's weird that they're pushing the whole 'you're the avatar!" thing more than ever, but actually make the avatar more and more specific.

Robin only had a defined parentage, with his life pre-amnesia being completely unknown, but then Corrin's whole life is basically known. Robin also once in a while got those options in the main story even if they had no effect aside from the final one, while Corrin only gets the game branching stuff and maybe killing/sparring Shura.

This is a good idea to talk about the Yatogami. If you pay attention, those things that light up whenever you achieve a social rank with the other sacred weapon wielders look a lot like eyes. You know who else is a big theme on having "eyes"? Anankos. Gooron has a big red eye rolling around in his chest. Dragon Garon has a big red eye rolling around in his head. Anankos himself is eyeless, but has a core that's a giant eyeball, essentially, and his thing is being "unseen."

I think the Yatogami having "eyes" as a part of its design is a big hint to its origins being linked with Anankos. The artbook I believe states that Anankos' dragon form once had antlers, like Corrin's dragon form, but that they were cut off. It's easy to conclude that the humans of Valla cut them off when they tried to kill him, but I think it's also possible that his horns were used as material to forge the Yatogami, just as the Shield of Emblems and the Falchion were forged from parts of Naga.

My theory is that once Anankos saw that he would eventually descend into madness and would have to be stopped, he forced the Rainbow Sage to forge a weapon that could eventually defeat him when he went mad, and cursed him to be unable to ascend or die until he had provided the wielder of the weapon with the power needed to complete the Fire Emblem.

I feel like that's a dumb as fuck plothole that could have easily been solved by simple explanations. Azura shows the crystal ball to all the Nohr siblings, and none of them fucking believe her except Corrin because it's a ridiculous fucking idea. They'd sooner accuse her of being a Hoshidan plant than believe that daddy is a slime monster. It could have even added some interesting character intrigue between Corrin/Azura vs the rest of the siblings for the next few chapters, too. I didn't feel as if the siblings needed much convincing in Conquest. By the time Nohrrin is actively pushing back the other siblings have been putting up with the king's moods for years and are doing what little heroic feats they can without incurring his wrath because, again, the penalty for out-right treason is death and their weapons don't have the necessary power-ups to slay the king outright. In all honesty what was there to do?
