Been playing for about a week and a half and I'm sort of lost now. I'm at 294 light, should I be trying to raid? How hard is it to get a group going, and does country matter (connect wise)? It seems like such a hassle to get a raid group together. Do all six members usually have mics?

It's either raiding or quitting though, the PvP in this game is a write-off. There needs to be a game mode that at least removes supers.

Yes, everyone has a mic, it's kind of required unless you're really experienced. It's not too much of a hassle if you post or lurk here, people make LFG posts all the time and take in anyone who's at the right light level, which you are.

The game kind of gets better the more you play it, and that includes the PvP: gets more tolerable the more you learn how to play it. It's definitely not a game that can be enjoyed if you have nobody to play with. What you have to do is get a friends list going, just add everyone from /dg/ and start posting here.

As for other things you can be doing at 294 light: Nightfall, Trials, and finishing up questlines, especially the exotic ones. Other than that just play what you want to play, and chase the guns and armor that you really want, which is half the fun of the game.

Also I recommend running the old raids for a fun time.

I've had great success with the gunsmith Herja-d with Crowd Control and Rodeo so I can only imagine one with Counterbalance would be tip top. Nirwen's is the slowest to kill pulse type so a good roll on literally any other pulse will beat it.

i hate how the pause menu lags to load. it should be instant. and i hate how we have to goto the menu to use synths and switch weapons. theres an entire d-pad they couldve used, and a touch pad they couldve just used for dancing. press left to use green synth, right to use purple synth, up to quickswitch primary, down to quickswitch secondary or heavy weapon.

So, I just got to 235 light and I'm kinda lost as to what to do.

I don't feel strong enough to solo the daily story mission, and the few times I've tried the 260 strikes it's been a hellhole. The only way I've gotten geared is from legendary engrams in Vanguard strikes, and even then those are really rare to be for a slot I can upgrade.

Do I just keep going until I get like, 240-250?

Well, it's not like it's the exact same engine. Ithas been 'upgraded' X amount of times, but there's only so much you can do. It's like getting an old car and trying to fit a new engine inside of it. There's only so much you can fit into the frame.

I haven't really enjoyed a CoD since BO2 and MW2 before that. I probably clocked up a grand total of 2 hours on Ghosts and AW. Not going to buy BO3, but I should be getting a copy on either Monday or Tuesday.

The consistency isn't a bad thing. You play CoD and you know what you're getting. It's not like playing Halo 4/5 when you expected it to be like CE/2/3. I loved MW2 because everything was so absurdly overpowered. Later ones tried to tone it down a bit and dial things back.
