Besides which character you'd like to fuck or whatever, there's some other actual game related stuff I'm sort of curious about regarding the fanbase and how each person responded to certain things

Between neutral and pacifist, which ending did you prefer? Because I just sort of naturally thought that pacifist was better, being as I viewed it as the "actual" ending of the game, but it wasn't until I started asking around that some people I knew told me that they preferred the neutral ending for some of the weirder stuff that it did involving the final battle.

What did you think about Alphys as a character? Despite peoples varying opinions about which character they liked the best, most people I know generally seem to agree that Alphys was their least favorite of the main cast, but beyond that, there are also a few people I've seen who not only like her the least, but straight up dislike her entirely, not only for the pacifist ending reveals about her character, but for the stuff she said and did beforehand, and based off my observations, I've actually tended to notice that the people who dislike Alphys entirely also happen to be way into anime, but maybe that's just a coincidence.

I liked the Pacifist ending the most cos muh happy ending, but the neutral endings where Undyne becomes Empress or where Alphys is forced to become a better person are really good too.

I like genocide because it brings the best out in the cast, from Undyne in her last stand against the coming night, Alphys stepping up to evacuate the monsters, or Sans finally intervening and standing up to what (at that point) is a manifestation of evil and destruction

Alphys was meh. I didn't like her as a person, but that doesn't mean I hated her inclusion in the game.

It's really hard for me to choose between the Neutral and Pacifist endings. I personally prefer Pacifist because I want the best for the characters and because you get to spend the most time with everyone. But the Neutral endings flesh some of the characters out a little more, especially Sans, Toriel, and Papyrus. Also Neutral has the better final boss in my opinion.

As for Alphys I do think she's very sympathetic, relatable, and well written, but I don't think she's likeable in the way that Papyrus and Undyne are. She's not very funny or charming, just pathetic. I definitely don't hate her though and a lot of the bashing sounds really baity or hyperbolic.

Pacifist. I really love the final battle and the lead up to it. I can see why people would prefer Omega Flowey, but I can't see preferring any of the phone call endings to the EarthBound-esque walk around the entire underground. I guess some people could find it overly saccharine, but I find a lot of the neutral endings to fall way too far on the depressing side too.

I like Alphys a lot. She's a very realistically written character, with probably the most subtext of any of the main cast. She's also got the least charisma of the cast though, alongside people like Papyrus, Undyne, and Toriel, who have very extreme and likable personalities. In contrast to Alphys whose character is heavily reliant on not being likable, because she hates herself. It you can't sympathize with her on some level, it's easy for me to see why people would hate her. Likewise I'm sure some people hate her because they relate too much. Her phone gimmick annoys some people too if the humor doesn't click, and even if it does it can get grating on multiple runs.

I think the way all the characters turn up for the pacifist ending is overly contrived and sentimental, so it detracted from it, a little. And some of the dialogue with Asriel was a little too on-the-nose.

But the fight, and going all the way back to the beginning to talk to Asriel, that was nice. I like that a lot. It's the ending with the most closure and it's a great bookend to everything.
