Eventually but until you get down the basics, there's little chance of actually applying anything advanced you learn. Which is why Mario, Pit, Yoshi, etc are good learners characters because they teach the basis of the game without relying on heavy gimmicks (pac man) or character specific techniques (pikachu) that don't translate well between characters. Yeah, her grounded options are mostly shit so that forces an aerial playstyle. Her aerials are have uses in every situation though. The approach moves that are safe on shield, but only in properly spaced. Two of which confirm her grab. Multiple aerials and projectiles that can be used as combo starters. Her combos are very DI dependent. DI away on down throw doesn't lead into up air strings. Misspacing up air due to her high vertical momentum, air speed, and run speed means that a second up air or up b will not connect. It can still be followed up on with correct frame of mind to know which direction the first up air will send them. She has very reliable horizontal combos and safe kill options that don't come from her grab but they all require careful spacing and timing, particularly with her flip kick. And the fact that her best combo starter, her grab, is so easy to punish on whiff forces her to be precise with it.

I managed it after ungodly effort on the 3DS but the Wii U one still has me boggled. It's weird cause the 3DS the AI has higher knockback by default and in doubles if your ally dies too early, you have almost always lost.

Wii U on the other hand singles is easier and no default kb boost but the AI will gang up on you 7vs1 on any 8 player or 6 player Smash barring 2v2v2. Its crazy.

Its Smash Run on steroids with hazardous (read:fatal) walls which will kill you if you get hit by it over 100%. You need to locate and destroy 4 hearts which belong to Master Core, each one protected by a range of dark versions of Smash Run monsters. So long as you don't go ham or have experience in Smash Run, you should be ok. It nearly drove me insane when I tried it the first time though.

He has run turn around cancels that no other character really uses. He's not reliant on hitting waft either. He can camp well but do you know what it's like to camp with a character with no projectiles? It takes a lot of awareness to play wario properly and he has way more options in his gameplay than most characters including marth, and requires someone to be very slippery. Trust me when I say he's very good but very hard.

He takes a lot of thought, and is in my opinion one of the most thoughtful characters on the whole roster.

Break her space. Bowser's run speed isn't the slowest, and ZSS Nair has about 9 frames of startup. If you can get past the max range of nair/zair/bair, all of them are punishable on shield, and Bowser's Up b is decent for that. The stun gun you'll have to shield and try to get past the range where it's safe. Tether grab, if the ZSS is smart you won't see it until it's confirmed. Tether recovery, your only real option is to hope the ZSS always jumps>down b. A lot of ZSS mains do that though so once you read it, just wait where the down b ends and up smash it for free every time. Up smash actually keeps ZSS from landing on him at all. I know bowser's a defensive character but you have to approach ZSS every chance you get.
Power shield like you're fighting duck hunt. Don't give her enough time to empty hop grab. Don't down tilt the ledge cause flip kick doesn't care. Don't wait in the corner for an opening cause ZSS doesn't give one. And don't EVER get off the ground if you can help it. Matchup is still going to be shit but this is your best chance. Hope you're a better player than the ZSS

Yeah its not a nice MU but I didn't know they were punishable on shield, I was pretty much stuck. By the sounds of it though in not going into the air, it seems like my short hop f-airs were essentially suicide and I was a sitting duck when there were opportunities. So I essentially need to play this MU rushdown instead of turtle.

I doubt I'd be a better player than most of the ZSS vetsbut I'd at least be happy to go in that I'm fighting for that 30 in the 70:30 (or 80:20) at the best of my ability.

It's funny but there are many different spacings where the up b will connect. Some of them, the final hit will connect. Luckily, very few of them are completely guaranteed. If you're just right above and in front of ZSS, you're dead. If you are slightly too high, you can SDI up and get out (zero died to this because he was already too high anyway). If you're too close to ZSS' body, you can SDI up and toward her to pop out the back. If you're too far away, you can SDI up and away and pop out.

This is true. Mac is phenomenal at covering ground but he's also horrifyingly vulnerable if he is near the edge no matter the %. A smart Mac who is near the middle requires at least two good hits or throws to get off-stage. Not only that, he also holds the advantage in the neutral. One who camps the edge needs one pivot and air attack to die.

I don't see where I said that. I said stay on the ground at all times. Get under her when you can. And that's a bowser thing but a lot of similar characters too. If you're Olimar, Villager, Diddy, etc, get in the air as much as possible because it's a lot harder for her to catch small bodies with good range. Nair hits diagonally down and that's her best neutral tool. She can poke with with zair but those characters don't fall to the ground to get grabbed. Villager in particular can air-to-air her every time and since her grounded tools aren't as good, the matchup gets pretty bad.
Bowser's huge af and can't outrange her so in the air she her tools work better.

I am talking mainly to counter her short hop air attacks. Normally I'm super, SUPER big and an easy target. Crouching makes me wider but lowers my height by a reasonable margin. Sheik can perform a rising fair or sh nair in basically every power shield situation. There is really no reason to crouch.

The only time to crouch would be in cases like a Fox who you know is going to open with lazer spam, crouchwalking will allow you to approach unharmed. Ditto for Thoron / arcthunder.

If you imagine sheik's hurtboxes when crouching and standing, crouching hurtbox is much small so a hitbox that would hit standing sheik might whiff. If you shield off of a crouch, you go back to standing up, even if there is already a hitbox in the location, but it automatically becomes a power shield. Basically, you have a smaller hurtbox while crouching, and switch to the shield (which covers the taller hurtbox) in one frame.

If you shield the banana you can avoid but otherwise no. Dtilt usmash at the percent it kills is most likely unavoidable, at later percents you can try DIing up and away. Its now more unavoidable ever since they buffed his usmash making it connect better. And there's lots of reasons why pikachu wins it, to me its pretty awful for diddy.

How do I beat Bowser? I understand that he isn't an exceptional character or anything, but my friend mains him and I can't quite ever seem to beat him in a 1v1. I usually play Villager, Wario, and I'm learning Ike right now. I can't seem to be able to handle his pressure and end up getting killed from bad reads or the damn super armor. Any tips?
