Have no fear mate, I know just the place!
Get with the fucking times, grandpa.
what is your favorite type of traitor?
not to play as, just to play in a round with.
specifically, what are a traitors options besides stealthbombing the station the entire round, or going on a one-man rampage and getting killed in the first 10 minutes?
The type that abuses the admins rather than the players.
Sending porn in the fax machine
making ridiculous and crazy commands and requests in a emagged communications console
murder boning the entire server to the point where the admins have to change the rules to stop them
>Brig under cult control
>Send fax to Centcomm begging for help, telling them brig is overrun, sec IDs stolen, head IDs including HOP stolen
>Have a photo of Nevill getting sacrificed in the security lobby in plain view
>Cultists lowering alert levels and sending station alerts about meeting up in the bar to summon Narsie
I can't really blame the admins for not being on at all times. I'm just really unlucky as IAA.
LOl sorry to hear.
,e and the cap said EARLY as fuck in the game there was a cult. And we gave people holy water and shit.
At least the round had non shitty antags who ATUALLY killed people and y aknow. MADE THE GAME NOT A BORING FUCKING SNORE FEST LIKE SO MANY FAGGOTS DO CAUSE THEY ARE SCARED TO DIE IN A GOD DAMN VIDEO GAME!!
>two miles away from the station

never ever ever have I had a fax responded to, spent cumulative hours writing and sending them over the years.
I only play IAA now as an assistant role without the grey jumpsuit when I can't be fucked playing a real role.
I forgot that APC breakers default to OFF
The main problem with most faxes is most are asking for us to send them something. A representative, an ERT, etc.
We usually don't have enough players who can do that. A lot of the times we can't even send ourselves as a representative because we're so wrapped up in other things.
This is why prayers are answered way more because it's a lot easier to just splatter some blood around for the chaplain and spawn him some gimmicky thing that doesn't do anything but makes him happy.
The previous round I responded (late) to a fax because I was busy handling an ahelp, immediately sent an inspector then an ERT.
I think it's more likely that when I logged out, both admins were still afk in the lobby.
Also nevill was a cultist. And slain by the HoP for being a cultist so I have some questions there.
Ok, next question. I have three injectors and three vents. I assume I link the vents as output and the injectors as input. I linked them both up to the TEG loop, but the computer still lists no output port found.
Question for the autism techs.
You have a plasma TANK (not canister) that was preignited and has 1 mol of plasma and a bunch of CO2, all at 3000C.
How would you separate the CO2 out of the tank and just have the 1 mol of hot plasma in the tank?
i'd slam it in an empty canister and run it through a plasma filter, then put the filtrate into another new canister, but that takes pipelaying and stuff
though come to think of it, do portable air scrubbers scrub out co2? if not, you could just pop it in there on max power and suck the plasma out of the scrubber later
That's what you get for trying to join a cult.
>find an artist that does decent ss13 fanart
>it's filled with furries, gays or both.
I'm laid up in bed feeling like shit so I'm going to go over what I did to send an ERT.
1. Get fax. Can't reply yet because I'm looking into someone who may be being a bitch and rurus come first. Players already have a game to play and I have a lot of things that are more important than enhancing the game for them.
2. Get back to the fax, which by now is a long time ago but thankfully the player is still nearby a fax machine. Take into account everything I've observed, from checking the number of antags and who is an antag, to the station damage/power/status of departments, figuring out if his fax is on the level or just "I'm bored send bus", and doing a bunch of mental checking that no one talks about or wants to hear. From there, I have to formulate a reply that I think is the best I can offer and will be the best for the round. There's no button to press, I have to think shit through and decide.
3. Reply. Send an inspector. Wait, first we have to spawn a human and a set of centcom clothes (remember one 'm' or else nothing but a single chest armor will come up). I could just right click dress up if I had the flags but i don't and the player on the other end doesn't care what flags I have. Pick a name, get everything sorted like hair and IDs with a matching name and so on. Oh and quickly, because this guys already waited 10 minutes for a fax reply and making him wait another 10 minutes for me to leave centcomm isn't acceptable.
4. Go to the station using the Ferry. Everything has to be IC. Roleplaying is optional for Assistant Murdercock MacToolbox. It isn't for an admin making a visit as a centcomm official. Stick to a natural script (go to bridge, talk to heads) and politely ignore a changeling deathstinging the HoS right in front of me and the guy that faxed me. I know he stung him. The other two players should have killed him on the spot. But I can't, and I can't even say anything. I'm an admin, not a player. It's not my beef.
4. (Continued). Take the HoS who is now fucked to medbay, give a parting word to the person that faxed me, and press the ERT button before my character is even back to the Ferry so we can get the ball rolling. Plus telling people how to become an ERT repeatedly so we get the most possible players involved.
5. Go back to Centcomm, again IC via the Ferry no shortcuts. ERT is already joined up. Hassle the dead to join up again and get another player to participate. Wait 60 seconds for them to get comfy, come back in, brief them as briefly as possible since we're now 20 minutes past the point where something was fucked up enough for a person to fax for ERT. Send them off after shooing them out of the ready room like a mother bird flinging its babies out of the nest before they can fly.
6. Make any number of announcements during all this so the crew has a fair shake of whats happening and antags aren't surprise raped by 6 guys with big nuclear guns.
And here's what you did. You wrote anywhere from 1 to 5 sentences and sent it to centcomm.
WHY DOES TG GET ALL THE COOL STUFF!?!?!?!?
oh boy yet another meh and out of place gamemode from TG.
literally who cares.
we need to work on fixing our codebase before we think about adding big things like a new game mode.
codebase is in SHAMBLES right now.
That's two months of work and it still isn't ready to even go live and go through the first batch of live server testing to iron out all the kinks.
Help out PJB working on clockcult. He is making cool stuff for you.
it's fine just check out these PRs
just as good
nah it's not like we have more issues than before the freeze right
what do you do to send a death squad then? or what would justify sending one? I want to be a death squad commando and I need to figure out how badly shit must be fucked for that to happen.

What the fuck just happened this round ?
Was very tempted to break into the AI chamber and upload a benign law the AI couldn't state under ANY circumstances, but decided to restrain myself.
I had no idea. But I never knew how horrible toxin sublimation could be until now. At least it burned the mime-clown traitorling who decided to suck me dry on the escape pod too.
>And here's what you did
Actually let me help you out here Probe
Here's what I did
>1. Visual confirmation of a threat: expended shells and runes in the brig
>2. Radio confirmation of security non-responsiveness
>3. Camera evidence of on-going sacrifice, stolen HOP PDA, stolen captain gear
>4. Briefed newly-arrived Detective on ongoing threat
>5. Compiled report and submitted to centcomm
>6. Ordered to help retake the brig as an IAA with no weapons by Detecive
>7. Get lasered to death in a noble brawl that does at least kill off that one cultist
Here's what you did
>Weren't playing that shift
I spawn however many humans, spawn a complete set of deathsquad gear that I've memorized, and take control of each then dress myself. Then I ask players in deadchat and put them in.
I've only done it once and basically the answer is no until I have the flag that lets me skip the dressing up part and just pick a premade selection of items.
For me to send a deathsquad (assuming I'm up to the task of wading through the bullshit for you) the station would need to be
Completely or at least practically in control of antagonists*.
Someone has contacted Centcomm and informed them of this.
An Official (me) has come to the station and witnessed this and reported back to (me) or was killed.
An ERT is either not viable or has already been sent and killed.
*Celt is a pretty special dude when he plays captain and can get a deathsquad called on his ass for rebellion without killing people or removing them from the round as a non antag. His finesse and ability to create fun, interesting rounds really helped him become an admin with huge support. It's not impossible for deafsquid to be called because of non antags but it is rare. And all of this is just how I personally handle it and it varies between all 20 admins.
The main point I want people to read here is when you pray for anything complicated or send a fax or message it takes a whole lot less effort than what it will take an admin to respond in kind with.
And at least one person wants the admins to get involved with some hot bus action every single round. Day in and day out.
>Implying you're the IAA
Nigga you are clearly marked as the 35th unique IP to post in this thread, meaning this is your FIRST post in the thread, so you can't be that same guy.
Probe: the only admin who cares
as someone who is on the other side of the faxes, hearing 1-3 sentences makes me cringe, I always make sure to make them a reasonable length, and provide a moderate amount of detail on the situation at hand.
I also generally fuck around with the formatting somewhat, and make the text look like it has a letterhead and is in some kind of bureaucratic format, ensuring the language is highly formalized and correct.
I would not blame you for completely ignoring a fax that runs along the lines of
Dear centcom, please send ERT as soon as possible.
the bridge is taken over my cultists.
fuck that fax, no effort no response.
I generally try and make it something more like....
Station: Space station 13
Location sent: IAA office
Destination: Nanotransen Central Command
Specfics: NAB Smythside Central Headquarters
Requesting: emergency assistance
To who it may concern
This is Allissa Hall Internal affairs agent for space station 13, we are currently being overrun by a cult which has taken or killed a large portion of the crew including [any Heads of staff]
the cult has barricaded themselves in the bridge and is threatening the very survival of the station itself. weapons known to be used by the terrorists include [weapons] and also believe they are attempting to summon their god deity Nar-SI
Our staff are either incapacitated or incapable of re-taking the bridge, and we are formally asking for assistance.
we are requesting an emergency response team or similar remedies to help combat this situation, and also any information that may be kept on this particular cult
Thankyou in advance for any assistance you may provide.

>play bay to get away from /vg/

>never one hundred percent happy anywhere
He could be posting from his tablet or whatever who cares. My posts weren't directed at one specific instance, rather every instance every day when people ask why don't we get bus at will because we mastered slipping our ID in a fax machine.
I left before you sent the fax. I still observed over half the round and responded to 6 different players ahelps, all while managing to be a very boring borer inside a xenobiologists head because I forgot what character slot I had loaded and became the first borer of the round while making a cup of tea.
What you did is part of the round. It's the game that everyone has spent so many years to make for you. It sounds like you had a pretty good round. If I had been there I probably would have busted my balls to respond in character and play with you.
But ultimately, the game plays itself without admin intervention unless something is broken or someones done something hugely dickish. Antags succeeding doesn't guarantee bus.
>I spawn however many humans, spawn a complete set of deathsquad gear that I've memorized, and take control of each then dress myself.
that sounds tedious as fuck bro.
is there no way to spawn an ERT member with default clothing, similar to the starting gear each role has?
No wonder nobody ever sends centcom support.
But I'm a man playing as a guy in a game about spessmen doing spess things.
This isn't a "Look in the mirror, it's too late, there is a skeleton inside you" thing, is it? Looking in the mirror, and seeing a spessgirl instead of me?
That sounds awful. No way in hell is that the truth.
Bay has a terrific wiki page on paperwork and I know one player who follows it. It almost always gets an immediate response because he put work into his report, even if it's just that. A report.
If you put work into something, admins are more likely to put in the work I've described back for you. If you pray "Gib antag", admins are more likely to honor your wishes and gib you.
There's something I really need to emphasize though. What admins do isn't immediately obvious unless you sift through the admin log and cut out all the warnings about firelocks being opened.
Every admin I've ever encountered, from Thingulous to nuklear to pomf, has at some point bussed the round and interacted with players. They all care.
Before I became an admin one of my personal complaints about the server was things sometimes aren't transparent. You'll ahelp about a guy and won't find out if anything's done until the banpage updates. Shit happens, not really a ton of explanation on what.
I wanted to improve that and decided to post in the thread with a name, accepting the amount of flak I would rightfully draw for it.
That has resulted in three things.
If I'm right and being a decent guy then people like me more and say probe for headmin.
If I'm wrong, people sure as fuck remember it because I've put my name on it and made everyone look dumb because they picked me to be part of the staff.
And finally pertaining to your post, it looks like I do things that others don't when all that's happening is I'm saying the things others don't.
Rei gets a ton of shit in the thread because he's not very vocal about what he does and often only brings bants in the thread when sarca is posting. That does not mean he doesn't put a shitton of work into bus and administrative work.
It's significantly easier to just spawn a human, right click it, click dress up and choose deafsquid
HOLY SHIT I KNEW I DIDN'T DREAM IT
I found this page once when going over the wiki, thought to myself "hmm better come back and re-read this one later, and then NEVER found it again
assumed I was going crazy on account of the obscene amount of mescalin i've been having recently and hallucinated/dreamed it.
it was on a completely different wiki.
I might be sane still maybe
Yeah I ran out of characters and couldn't take that sentence to the natural conclusion.
We have 21-24 active admins depending on if you want to count codermins and count eliminator as active. It's more like simple faxes aren't simple to reply to unless you just leave it at a reply.
I still remember wiggling your fat ayy fingers, taking time not just to carefully prepare and file the paperwork but to emote doing it.
There is talk within the admin channels of rewriting the rules, or at the very least, re wording them.
I think its only fair that you, the players, provide feedback regarding what you want to see and what you don't want to see.
Remember, we're still going to be a low RP server, so keep that in mind.
That's the difficulty of improving the maps in a nutshell though. I appreciate you have complaints but they aren't concrete enough to do anything about. Complaints that can be helped are specific and detailed. Most people say they like Box better, so nothing really changes.
Metaclub and Box are like Cool ranch and nacho cheese. Both good, but people like one over the other.
Also remember that most people don't know jack squat about mapping, so you're lucky if any complaint has any sort of description beyond "I don't like it"
My main issue with taxi is that anyone can be an ass and disable the taxis in many different ways without much effort. As well as some oddities like the distance between cloning and cryo being a tad long.
But that's just mostly an issue with the station's gimmick.
My question to you is: what do you have in mind?
-vox are valid
-Tyrones are valid
-If someone breaks into your department, their sentence is massively reduced (if not eliminated entirely) if you didn't have a desk bell
-something, anything at all, to help curb gaytide
-Specific, detailed explanation on the difference between potential harm and probable harm. Ideally a whole wiki page on this distinction. Jesus christ.
Cloning+Cryo feng shui is exactly the kind of exacting feedback we need. That's something I can change.
If you say well the taxi design isn't good then fuck, what do we do? Add more taxis? Where? How much of the map now requires redesign?
I don't need precise shit. Two days ago someone ahelped complaining about the bar door on deff. The windoor was flush with the inside of the bar (north side of tile) instead of the outer bar counter, giving the bartenders area one extra usable tile.
I didn't need him to tell me the windoor is dir 1 and should be dir 2. I can dig that shit up myself. I just need him to tell me the door aint right.
Please don't kill me
well, maybe make a 3rd taxi that docks somewhere other than where the first two dock in the station, that way you can't just lock down the place by welding two doors/airlocks/breaking the screen/putting lube in the taxis? I don't know. I just know that it's extremely easy to bottleneck station flow by just welding the airlocks shut
>what do we do? Add more taxis? Where? How much of the map now requires redesign?
And this is why I don't really complain too much. Because the answer to those questions is not something that I can answer easily most of the time.
As for ways to fix some stuff around taxi, the door to the break room has some weird access that paramedics can't open for some reason. Cryo and the morgue are a bit out of the way from cloning. I think those three should be kept fairly close togheter.
As for how to fix it, beats me.
A few little details on Box that I've come across:
RnD starts with a beaker of sulphuric acid, Robotics starts with an empty beaker. Even though RnD only needs sulph like 90% of the way through the tree, and only to print three boards that get destroyed immediately. Meanwhile Robotics actually uses the boards they print. Also, maybe more metal/glass/plasteel in both Robotics and RnD?
Bartender needs more table space behind the bar that customers can't reach besides a single tile that comes cluttered full of garbage nobody ever uses as bartender, like wrapping paper and the tile painter. And a superfluous headset identical to the one the bartender spawns with. Also, consider replacing the booze vending machine with a booze DISPENSER? It would make SO much more sense.
Also is there a way to make the recycler and conveyor belts in recycling activated by default?
>Also is there a way to make the recycler and conveyor belts in recycling activated by default?
Yeah, but I don't think that's an issue. The furnace eats up a surprising amount of power so no reason to default it on, especially when you can really get your 2 metal sheets recycled in about ten seconds of waiting anyway.
if the round is boring and youve completed your job youre allowed to have FUN
- only things that are minor annoying, like working as cargo and never approving of someones orders
- mixing stuff into the edibles that drug you, make you feel dizzy etc.
- as botany, spread healing/ good kudzu in maint, plant plants everywhere that do no harm
- as chemist, add space drugs to pills, add space drugs to cryo mix, drug everyone with syringes
- fuck with a person that you picked forever, minor annoying things like throwing bolas
ive had countless rounds that were really boring as chemist, ending in grinding up things from the venidng machines and making steroids
Repeatedly signing up for a job and then ignoring the job completely should result in a jobban, for ALL jobs. I know we've jobbanned Engineers for not setting up power, but we should also jobban chemists for not filling the fridge and cargo techs for not processing orders and such.
There's a conveyor belt system with mass drivers and conveyor belts, it shoots packages through space. You can also use these to sneak between stations by firing yourself (since it moves you automatically, if you put on internals you can survive no problem, though you'll take some space burn damage)
I think one of the most common complaints with Taxi is that rooms are just too small. This really stands out with the kitchen, botany, xenobiology, IAA office, and genetics. There's also a lack of maintenance. I think the only reasonable way to solve these problems is with a fourth station.
>Move Kitchen, Botany, Bar, and Theater to a new service station. This station also gets one solar panel and a mini-atmos, and a local mail center, just like the others. You would also need to add new mail sorters stuff in space.
For the gap on Cargo/Engineering:
>Move over the IAA office, make it bigger instead of literally 4 tiles
>Move over the library and expand it for some breathing room
>Move over the chapel
Even accounting for larger room sizes, there is actually even a ton of new space left over on the cargo station. Add maint or make other departments larger/more comfy.
>Move over RD, R&D, server room
>Expand Xenobio so that it isn't hellish to work inside and gets a full 6 rooms
>Move Toxins across the hall to where the chapel was, now you can even add a mass driver/testing range, and make it a little roomier
Science (except robotics, still with the robits) is finally united
>Fill the space left by R&D/RD with mechanics so they sit directly next to the telecoms they're responsible for
None of this solves the whole "you can cripple the station by fucking with the Taxis themselves", but it does make the rooms liveable. And yes, I am well aware that this is too much to ask and won't happen.
Whats the protocol on bugfixing the map? I see mentions of there being tools to sanitize the files and such and i'm just all 'i ain't clickin that shit nigga' a lot of them are small fixes that could really dent the freeze list.
>Flying my gold spacepod around in space, searching for my lost bomb
>See a fellow space-pod brother dead on his pod
>Get in his pod to move it so I can bring his body back to the station
>NOT ENOUGH CHARGE LEFT
>Exiting the pod traps me
>No pickaxe, no cell, only panic
>Realize that the same thing happened to the dead guy and he took his suit off for the sweet release of death
>With no hope for rescue, decide to do the same
>Hanako shows up at the clownroid as soon as I die
SPACE IS CRUEL
>low pop kitchen duty
>try to get parts for dispenser, get yelled at by random scientist for dismantling photocopier
>try to extend a nice gesture to a department via spaghetti dinner, but they're all dealing with an antag
>do pic related
>start getting chased by guy with flamer
>get a few good whacks with rolling pin
>run into him again
>swap hand in reflex from taser to rolling pin
>get tased and fed a huge dose of plasma
>go blind, stumbling away from fire with the captain while I can see shit
>get into medbay alt exit
>cap almost lets plasma in
>no staff, but can see shit
>get stunned, welder tank tossed on me and blown
I could have stopped him, I had a clean shot
but my redshirt status fucks me over again.
I feel like I played pretty strong that round.
>A good load of ore and stuff mined.
>Got to the clown roid.
>Rescued some people.
>Saved some more people.
>Rescued the Cap after he got built into a wall.
>Trying to help the botanist thinking he was trapped in botany
>Flamer man appears and duels me.
>Fuck up the recovery and die.
It was a good run too. I should have just limped to medbay and killed one of my hivelords. The thought of doing that and dying before the kill and leaving the hivelord scared me though so I just tried to fix myself up with the trauma kit.
> building windoor / reinforced glass walls as chef
> re arranging reinforced windows to have room for a jukebox thats possibly stolen from bar
> arranging a nice table full of food in arrivals
> leaving the kitchen
remember, no FUN
i dont want to meme,i just want to shake up some badmins that maybe see this
what the chef did was really good and we need people with ideas. this should be encouraged as long as it doesnt turn into a "bad experience which cant turn good anymore" for other players
>see someone mention teeth and knocking out teeth were added to hippie
>they copied our idea but rewrote the code
>mfw our code is better
We have a disconnect. What we yell at people for is things like, engineers never setting up the power. Or security killing people for slipping them. Or the chef, instead of making food, putting lexorin inside of donk pockets and leaving them out.
We're not here to be captain buzzkill. We just make sure no ones being a huge faggot and ruining everyone elses shit.
It's more like there are people that don't want the rules to be rules and want me to make exceptions for them but I won't. It does not make me happy.
Nope, you take people acting in grey areas where there are no rules saying yes or no to certain actions and make sure to stop it and then talk about on the thread about distorting it like they were griefing and you put a stop to it like a good admin.
The illegal tech board deal recently.
Which your acting on opening a ticked to have it be logged was fine, but not going on the thread and lying about how both MoMMIs were planning on banbaiting and grief.
This is harder for me to accept because I believe I was right.
I only said one mommi griffed. I don't think I was wrong and bumblingidiot who has some experience playing mommi agreed, as did n3x15 who is the chief contributor to mommis.
Now I'm arguing in a new issue that they should get more things at roundstart because they've missed out over the last 6 months.
I apologize for accusing
what I now assume is youof baiting players without proof. I did not see it and was focused on the one stunning people.
I should have left it singular and not painted you with the same brush without knowing it.
Wow thank you, Probe. I, random anon, am happy to have been cleared of those charges and accept your apology.
Still feels like you petitioned a law that took away a gun from me because I could get myself hurt, though.
Neither player received notes at the time since the round had ended when the ahelp came in and it was just a quick log dive to see if what someone said was true.
What I said in the thread afterwards was wrong. One player acted out of turn. Applying it to both was incorrect and I am sorry. I said it without thinking and in an earlier post in this thread, I mentioned the pitfall of using a name means any time I am wrong I am remembered for being wrong.
I am sorry for saying something about you that I had no proof of and I will remember not to talk shit without backing it up again.
But we want him.
Even better if he finds the time to update his speedrun for mechanics given the not-really-well-documented new balance of research levels.
>Find wiz in med-atmos maint after he asks what the syringe he got hit was
>He's collapse locked cause mutagen
>Stox and strip him
>In medbay storage and just got inaprov in him before heading to get arith, rye, then cryo him back up when
>WELP whispers with their final breath, "C-c-can-nt-t-t w-wak-ke up-p-p-p..."
>Can you smel-lel-lel-lel
>Damage Specifics: 105 - 103 - 0 - 0
>He would have lived if he didn't puss out
I think theres lots of fun to be had capturing an antag and removing their organs, on an imrpov table, with improve surgical tools, as the clown.
Bonus points if you yourself are a monkey at the time, can monkeys even do surgery?
Personally, I would like elaboration on non-standard silicon lawsets, with examples of what the different laws mean.
I see a lot of people struggling with things like "What does it mean to serve the public trust" and "How do you define good and evil", and many fail to understand why they can't just murder criminals as Robocop, thinking it's okay because that's what Robocop does in the movies. Same is true for Paladin, many players seem to not understand that "punish those who yadda yadda" does not mean "murder the fuck out of criminals".
That may be, but for the purposes of silicons laws however, murder is murder.
To kill without authorization and in a non-life threatening scenario is murder, which is not just a violation of space law but also a violation of Robops third law.
Killing people as punishment for their actions is rarely a non-evil act as Paladin. The same limitations space law gives to Robocop also applies to Paladin. Space law is a type of authority, and to kill without proper authorization is disrespectful of that authority.
I've already provided an extensive guideline of what I think the rules should be. I've yet to cover grief, IC issues, escalation, and to explain the misconceptions. I suppose I'll get on writing that and finishing it up.
I shouldn't have agreed to write it. Way too much effort for way to little return. I thought Celt was talking about Admin Guidelines, not player rules.
It's a good thing I'm writing this and am able to put forth my arguments in a document so it can just be referred to. Because I won't be around to argue with idiots like this guy all the time.
Elaboration on law sets is inevitably going to lead to two conclusions.
>An interpretation that agrees with what you think
>An interpretation that disagrees with what you think.
What you're proposing is that the Admins decide to bar one perfectly reasonable interpretation and restrict behavior to a cookie cutter pattern. Of course, that interpretation should be the one YOU agree with and the banned interpretation should be the one YOU disagree with
You are the exact kind of person I hate. A self serving brainless twat, who thinks that their uneducated opinion is worth something.
When your laws are based on subjective terms, there is an enormous room for interpretation.
Except of course, you know, that the first law is to Serve the public trust which is an incredibly vague statement that can reasonably be interpreted in any number of ways that conflict with what you say.
Also ignoring that "the law" is also an incredibly vague statement and could refer to Space Law, natural law, Draconian law, law from 6th Century Byzantium, or any such number of laws and not YOUR specific law that restricts behavior the way you want it to be restricted.
Oh yes, and of course let's just throw the 2nd law in there, Protect the innocent. It can be said that actively seeking out and killing criminals before they are able to act again is a sufficient way of protecting the innocent.
You're a moron. Plain and simple. You think your specific brand of idiocy is fit to be law of the land? How insulting. A low class imbecile such as yourself is not fit to impose restrictions on me or anyone else.
just checked and it isn't that bad
plus they've got dental surgery and dentures
>Play for the first time in like a year
>Tons of songs have been added to the jukebox
>Which have been thrown haphazardly into a bunch of astoundingly disorganized playlists with filenames instead of song titles
>And to top that all off, there doesn't seem to be anything in that clusterfuck from MGSV
What have you people done
>when you're fixing the boxmap based on the feature freeze issues and two of them are requests not actual bugs and another doesn't seem to be a problem because the SME chamber is fine last I used it, which is every other round.
Did anyone even call dibs on the map priority so I'm gonna get screwed over on this? I hope not, I'm blazing along to the sound of progress, it just werks.
Just check the open PRs. If none of them modify the map then no one has map priority.
There's no calling it if you don't even have a PR up.
and there's no "It's a work in progress!" PR either
Mines pretty much done I'm just testing the EVA doors to make sure I didn't fuck it up, i fixed the disposals network completely and even added a few destinations which involved about 2 pipe sorttag edits, swapping one normal pipe out for a sort pipe for telescience and adding 2 destinations to the taggers default list.
Already sent a crate to every possible destination so I'm happy with that, after the test i just run clean, make sure my forks all up to date and it's a normal PR right? I did the merge stuff in the config also, don't know if that matters.
I'm doing box only for now, I was trying to shy away from map edits because of the song and dance involved but I can't stand it anymore, the freeze is being fought, I got new features I want to work on and that shits sapping motivation.
I suppose it's working as intended then given I'm bug fixing instead, bravo.
I know what it was, i'm just checking the logic of my actions, since the door leads to both maint and EVA it stands to reason you want both of these. The old accesses are being revoked, if you don't have EVA you can fuck off and greytide your way in instead. If you don't have maint, you aren't leaving through that door.
And here it is, I've finished it entirely. May be some typos but it's done and I refuse to work on it anymore.
For new players, general players, and to get a quick understanding without reading a treatise.
For the admins, for ban appeals, for reference, for detail.
The policies do not define the extent of the validity of the offending party, can we therefore conclude that anyone who kills ian is officially on the entire stations shitlist?
I fucking love you, 2sarcalogos
I think it was the hacked one though. At least, I killed the hacked one and they said they did that plasma shit. And since they were no longer in an MoMMI they didn't appear on the endscreen.
I've done similar things even in my more experienced days. What's important that they learned from it and they'll be deathly afraid of doing it again.
Trust me on that.
I say ERP should be allowed- if and only if everything is broadcasted to all radio channels, and then transcribed directly into the thread from the logs at the round's conclusion. Or possibly before its conclusion at that matter.
Recent developments are leading me to leaving the waifu scene altogether, but as long as I'm an admin, all waifufaggotry shall have just as much right to live as the other side of the spectrum.
>/* If this is not implemented, the entire set of rules is worthless. Admins will ignore what is against the rules and again just ban people for "being shitters" which is code speak for I don't like you but don't have a solid reason to ban you */
This coming from the guy who banned everyone he didn't like before he stepped down as an admin. Ironic.
Well, you know.
There's me getting married, and there's something else about a kind of fucked up waifu situation.
Precisely. Being into lewd shit isn't necessarily slutty
if you're the first person they do it with, but I wholeheartedly agree.
>not treating lewd times as something rather intimate
I think I crossed the autism barrier and I'm eager to see the world beyond.
>Made my character a slut because I value sexual experience and freedom
>still get waifu'd by smegma heads trying to tie her down
Mister Pomf! Local news channel here, what is your take on the recent influx of cyrilic letters in your thread? Any prognosis you could give us?
I appear to not have been paid my share of pomfcoins for my contributions to the coderbus, can I expect payment sometime soon?
I only have the one coin so far from keeping my mouth shut about the delorean i saw being worked on, not even sure it's legal tender.
In due time, here's another so you can buy yourself something nice.
I can give you more than that coin I gave you.
Not really, just some mild drama.

>/gsg/ vs /twg/ - The Strategy Derby
>“A great task awaits you: you are to revenge the grievous injustice that has been done. Total War General have overturned the law of generals; they have mocked the sacredness of Grand Strategy, in a way unheard of in world history. It is all the more outrageous that this crime has been committed by a general that takes pride in ancient culture. Show the old Prussian virtue. Present yourselves as Autists in the cheerful endurance of suffering. May honour and glory follow your banners and arms. Give the whole world an example of manliness and discipline.
>Should you encounter the enemy, he will be defeated! No quarter will be given! Prisoners will not be taken! Whoever falls into your hands is forfeited. Just as a thousand years ago the Huns under their King Attila made a name for themselves, one that even today makes them seem mighty in history and legend, may the name /gsg/ be affirmed by you in such a way in /twg/ that no casual will ever again dare to look cross-eyed at an Autist. May God’s blessing be with you, the prayers of an entire general and my good wishes go with you, each and every one. Open the way to victory once and for all! Now you may depart! Farewell, comrades.”
So far I think we can take:
Shoe Snatchn' Willy
Lusty the Xenomorph Maid
Fix mommi laws so they can actually do things without breaking their laws
Allow people to deal with hostile, non-valid invaders to their department in character, ahelps should be a last resort when under attack, not the first.
Allow harsher in game penalties for grey tiding, and forgive using meta knowledge for harsher first offense punishment of characters who are known greytiders.
Clarification on what exactly atmos techs and engineers can do if a project they are working on happens to resemble power gaming in some aspect.
These may all be allowed, but explicit mention of that would be useful.
>tfw no Space Incans turning their heads into flutes to fight the evil Space Spaniards in their Space Galleons in the year 2492 to revive the Incan peoples
>Aliens no longer take double burn damage
I've got us a roster:
We're gonna play the best way there is, 4-3-3.
(GK): Potent Hams
(CB): free kingston
(CB): Captain Comdom
(RB): Medbay Slut
(CMF): Stunlocker Weldspace
(CMF): Cracked Ack
(RMF): Panic Bunker
(CF): Cuban Pete
(RWF): Boombox Operative
If anyone's happy with the main roster, we can do reserves!
>had enough food prepped on counters that I could go away for a while and everyone could stay fed
>want to set up something nice for other players
>can't go with the simple route so go with something more public and complex instead
Others have gone over it already but as long as I'm not stepping on other players toes there's not a problem with what I did.
Now what I will accept was the time I completely ignored my kitchen duties to try making the space pod room into a cafe without performing my job first. I eventually ran back and made a bunch of pizza but still.
>you will never play on a station with a huge kitchen
>cooking will never be revamped to require multiple people at different stations to prepare soups, meats, sauces, etc.
>you will never get to be a fancy head chef delegating to other chefs
It's an old habit.
I don't know what they do on leddit, anon.
I'm happy with these! I've no idea what the capital letters in parenthesis mean, but the names look good! Do reserves now! I vote for Eggman and Clickety-Clack the Crab Robot!
Replace Medbay Slut with Greyshit.
Greyshit is our secondary mascot.
Just look at this magnificent figure, he's practically an icon.
Fuck right off senpai
I actually am working on a revamp to make cooking better, however it won't be a huge kitchen or necessitate dictating orders to many people. There'd be a riot if cooking basic foods like a pie required, say, four steps. After all, you're cooking for a whole crew with one man.
But it can be better.
Now, cheeki breeki, Spehs mehrens, or something completely different?
>inb4 that japanese biker power rangers thing
>cheeki breeki, Spehs mehrens
>or something completely different?
Cheeki Breeki with Spehs Merens.
Bar-kitchen-hydro technically is a team in itself. There would be literally too many cooks if we had less than ~80 people playing. That's why it would better fit in an optimized remake that can handle a much larger load.
Why not allow bulk-cooking? Many large kitchens like those for hospitals or similar tend to cook huge amounts of food at once. Why prepare four dishes when you can prepare forty in the same amount of time?
I think at least one deepfryer should be kept.
It at least works like deepfryers actually work, barring the need for batter/breading.
Remove the grill/candymaker/oven though, they're shit.
That's still possible
You can also deepfry Ian and carps and other small animals (hostile ones have to be dead / otherwise neutralized though)
>people fuck with you
>fuck with them back
>"You are the worst X"
>giving attention whores exactly what they want
how daft are you?
If you want to include players' characters, do the most infamous ones on our server that stood out for their character name, not for their ckey. Notice I said stood and not stand because the faggots that get circlejerked in the thread now are simply the purest form of cancer that exists.
Examples of good candidates would be Willy, Vulgaris, etc.
Otherwise just make the other ones a bit more generic. I personally nominate "2u Cryoxadone"
I don't know. I was sure it was the Roboticist, considering there was only one of them and no RD. Plus he kept teleporting away at tele science and the Buttbotts were on the DJ station.. But then I got Admin PM'd about it, so it obviously wasn't him. Not sure why I got PM'd over it, as the Roboticist knew I had a pretty good reason to arrest him.
Stunlocker Weldspace sounds kinda dumb.
Get rid of Medbay Slut.
I'd also argue that Cuban Pete isn't really /vg/ server culture. I mean, it is, but the actual player never played here.
here you go
typically it's just bad escalation
You go to chemistry and no one is around. You ring the bell for a couple minutes and no one comes. You call for AI to assist you and it doesn't respond. You go to the HoP to get access to chemistry but here isn't there. You announce over comms that you have no choice but to hack into chem. Doctor runs up to you after you get the panel open. Grabs you and window slams you until your skull cracks open, bleed to death unconcious, and die. The doctor then tells everyone not to clone you and shoves your body disposals. "I got that shitter greytide for good." That's bad escalation.
Admins really need to add more antags as the round goes on. Last round had 40 people but only 3 antags. One of which was incinerated 15 minutes into the round. The second of which was gibbed by the 1st guy.
so the guy spamming all the buttbots wasn't an antag? was anything even done about that? he was literally crashing telecomms to the point where there was a 20 second delay on everything people said
>Go on /tg/
to keep an eye on a certain person
>Do the business, give security advanced clearance, etc.
>Assistant comes along "Hey HoP, wanna send a singularity to centcomm?"
>Fuck yeah I do
>Give the assistant engineering access, get another engi roped in, head to cargo to order what else we may need
>Meanwhile the entire security force storms cargo because it's rev
>As me and this greyshit set up the PA right by the cargo shuttle
Other wise its just mechs.
Could we actually grow a little singularity on the cargo shuttle then quickly send it back?
I gotta try this out.
It was both. I was an MD that round, he had some 1u in the fridge mid round, and 2us at the very end (after I had died).
We bullied him a bit for that but nothing serious - I just thought it was hilarious.
no, not really. they're "cornerstones of /vg/ history" because shiggy and sj are mentally damaged and try to waifu other men across the computer.
it sure as fuck isn't my history.
Crapsack the great strikes again! yYak! Yak! Yak!
>Rei being the usual sour puss that he is
Reserves so far as follows:
(GK): Vulgaris Magistralis
(CD): ASS TO BEAK
(CD): Cryoxadone (2 units)
(LMD): Cargonia Republic
(RMD): FUCK YOU DUNY
We're allowed 11 reserves, 6 more to fill!
is there any place on the wiki or otherwise with a retard's primer? I'm talking about, like, basic stuff. Someone says turn your suit sensors on, but what the fuck are suit sensors? The wiki says you can stuff corpses in the gibber for more meat, but how do you actually put them there? This stuff is really basic but just outside of the scope of the new player guide.
Well this is what Skowron did that round if anyone is interested. I don't think it's an appropriate way for an admin to act, and it really interfered with the round.
[11:31:08]ADMIN: Skowron/(Ironmoose William) spawned /obj/item/device/assembly/speaker at (28,220,4)
[11:31:18]ADMIN: Skowron/(Ironmoose William) spawned /obj/item/device/assembly/timer at (29,220,4)
[11:34:12]ADMIN: Skowron/(Ironmoose William) spawned /obj/machinery/bot/buttbot at (33,220,4)
[11:36:57]ADMIN: Skowron/(Ironmoose William) modified speaker's real_name to butt
[11:37:08]ADMIN: Skowron/(Ironmoose William) modified speaker's name to butt
[11:37:41]ADMIN: Skowron/(Ironmoose William) spawned /obj/item/device/radio/intercom at (32,219,4)
[11:37:45]ADMIN: Skowron/(Ironmoose William) spawned /obj/item/device/radio/intercom at (34,219,4)
[11:37:52]ADMIN: Skowron/(Ironmoose William) spawned /obj/item/device/radio/intercom at (33,220,4)
[11:39:26]ADMIN: Skowron/(Ironmoose William) spawned /obj/item/device/radio/intercom at (32,221,4)
[11:39:30]ADMIN: Skowron/(Ironmoose William) spawned /obj/item/device/radio/intercom at (34,221,4)
[11:58:29]ADMIN: Skowron/(Ironmoose William) spawned /obj/item/device/assembly/signaler at (33,221,4)
[11:58:33]ADMIN: Skowron/(Ironmoose William) spawned /obj/item/device/assembly/speaker at (33,221,4)
[11:59:57]ADMIN: Skowron/(Ironmoose William) modified speaker's real_name to booty
So Skowron admin spawned a Butt Bott, admin spawned speakers for the Butt Bott. And then rigged it up so that it would spam the radio, nearly crashing the server, delaying comms by 20 seconds and spamming comms to the point of uselessness. Sending Security on a man hunt for the admin spawned butt bott, and getting an innocent person arrested for his admin shenanigans, and causing them to admin help this.
Is this worthy of a deadmin?
Sadly no. The beginner's guide is only about the interface. I'll give you a quick rundown:
Everything in the game can be right, left, alt, shift, and control-clicked.
Right-click brings up a submenu of everything in that 'tile', and whatever actions you can do to them (although it's REALLY slow with large amounts of items). A good example is your jumpsuit to turn up your sensors.
Left-clicking tries to use the item in your active hand with whatever you click on - or if your hand is empty, tries to pick it up or otherwise use it.
Alt-clicking brings up a tab in the upper-right that shows you everything in the tile (much like right-clicking) and is much faster for finding a needle in a haystack of items
Shift-clicking 'examines' the item and gives you any flavourtext it may have (what it does, etc)
Crtl-clicking on a person or item will let you drag them, if able. By dragging I mean if you move, they move with you as if they're attached to your butt.
Hey, you're right, Vulgaris should be on the offence.

nah, that shit was annoying and it always has been annoying when youre actually playing the game
it lags shit and makes it impossible to understand anyone on the radio to the point that youd be better off if you just removed your headset
>points out how shit and hypocritical some admins are
holy shit must be sarca this has never happened before in any other game or any other server, not since table top game masters
