Trying to rebuild my tellars for the new banlist, I'm mainly using cards I already have to keep costs down. My meta is going to be all kozmos and majespecters with infernoids and the odd ba splashed in. What would you guys reccomend I change? Any tips for the side deck? I was thinking of shadow imprisoning mirror and a cowboy but I'm not entirely sure.

I like Pendulums. They really are an interesting mechanic. Also I would disagree with you about "Helmet tier sacky shit". Qlis obviously are super simple, but most other Pendulum decks are super skillful. And even if it may not be apparent when playing against them, a lot of the skill with Pendulum decks comes from deck building, especially in this upcoming meta with Majespecter, Memes, Magicians, and Dracoslayers.

I think konami makes decks designed to be top tier, I just don't think they realize HOW the deck gets to be top tier. It seems like konami designs everything in vacuum, like they get an idea for a deck (rituals that have slightly altered abilities of their extra deck counterparts) and then just run from there. They pay no mind to the interactions those cards might have with cards already in the pool, or how other decks might compete with that deck.

Rituals make sense from a design standpoint (theyre just fusions in your maindeck) but I can forgive them for being a shitty design because they were created before the card game was real.

Pendulums are just needlessly complex and explaining them to anyone getting into the game is a chore.

I mean, shit, I made a CaC Pendulum/Synchro archetype a while back and was autistic enough to test it. Actually surprisingly playable and didn't break the game in two, even when you introduced outside cards to work with. Pendulum Rituals? Similar deal: Perfectly workable, but Konami won't do it for Reasons.

Pendulums have poor design choices associated with decks built around the mechanic. Instead of spreading things too thin with "All Pendulum/Xyz/Synchro/Fusion" bullshit or being too braindead like "Unlimited Resource Works Tribute.dek", it should be "Pendulum + Summon Method, maybe with options for 3rd thing to show up".

Judging it solely on what we see so far, it's not. Magnus is a fucking fantastic card, but playing him is a contest in headbutting your opponents outs and floodgates until they run out so you can play the bastard and become invincible.

Without any way to recur themselves basically for free, they'll lose in any battle of attrition while the meta decks all have nigh-infinite resources.

Basically, it's the design philosophy of Quasar.dek applied to a neat-looking Xyz-based archetype. Green Layer could help fix some problems, but very rarely does one card alone fix an entire deck, and even if it does Konami would just smack it down next banlist.
