Why the fuck won't Eris give me the sword quest on my alt?

I finished TTK story quests, did the Dread Patrol quest from Cayde, even did the Sunless Cell strike quest that Eris gave me after that. Got 5 calcified fragments just in case, talked to Shaxx, still no sword quest.

Do I have to do the vanilla quests? I skipped over those since I used the level-25 boost item.

I actually hope Year 3's BBEG is Cabal instead of one of the mini upcoming DLCs that happen through the year.

Think about it, the Cabal lost all their ranking commanders in our solar system. Cayde implied that the Cabal Imperiors are pretty pissed, seeing as they ordered the last of their forces to smash into Oryx's dreadnaught.

They'll probably send another more capable legion here. Imagine new Cabal units and races for us to fight, a shitton of Cabal tech to see, and some crazy war vehicles as bosses. Would be a nice change of pace from Hive and Vex space magic.

You summon your Ghost to see the name of the area and whatever it is you may need to do, but you notice something odd - you can summon your Sparrow. You tell your companions, who are similarly perplexed, and it's then that you pick up on something else. A faint rumbling and a horrible screech, growing louder with every passing moment. And it's then you receive your hint: Run.

In a cacophony of steel and fire, the fortress within a fortress that you just fought through is smashed aside by a modified Imperial Land Tank, roaring towards you with all guns blazing. You cannot hope to stand and fight - your Sparrows are your only option. From there, you have to find your own way through the deadly maze to the exit, harassed by Cabal on all sides, but even after you avoid whatever insta-kill weapons it possesses and make it to the end, the tank is indefatigable. So what do you do?

Fight fire with fire. Take control of another Land Tank or a Goliath, and it's up to all six players to coordinate the tank well enough to stand on equal footing with the opposing tank and seize the day.

I've disappointed myself already as far as expectations go with this blue-sky thinking, but whatever.

So, I have a theory.

I think Oryx isn't dead. He had the ability (and probably the desire) to create an Oversoul, and hide his death away from himself. If he was just killed to the point of being trapped deep inside his throne, all it would take to bring him back would be for Xivu Arath or Savathûn to come to the solar system and describe him.

Driver steers the tank, pretty straight forward.

Loader has to pick either AP rounds or HE rounds to load into the gun; AP for armour-penetration and HE for anti-personnel.

What he did do is find a way to make his essence live on in Touch of Malice.
