You can go Genocide first route.
You dont need to do a full reset from the start of the game to do a Pacifst route.
If you havent killed anything up to defeating Asgore, after you defeat Flowey and he tells you "you could get a happier ending" you just load up the save and go to Alphys lab to get Undyne´s call and voila Pacifism route AKA "WHAT IN THE ACTUAL FUCK APLHYS" AKA "Flowey True End" route.

In all fairness, it's merely my headcanon, but here we go.
People tend to think of Chara as a generic evil villain or something like that. The name Chara is partially due to this, making it impersonal. He isn't you, more like something similar to a Jungian-kind persona player/you call upon when you need an MC. He is the character you default to when playing, the embodied desire to kill for levels/XP etc.

Consider this. In most games you play when you take control of MC, you take a pre-existing character in the world and effectively overwrite him with Chara. The symbollic posession when you, and by extension Chara, take control of the MC starts with the "ritual" of granting the character a name, the one as always. And so, the demon comes when called by its name.

Fallen child was a normal kid until he fell down and you naming him made him a host for Chara.

Like, how hard is it to follow what the game gives you? There's a reason it's so charming, don't go uglifying it for the sake of MUHSTYLE/MURREALISM

One day, Asriel with Frisk's soul was at school when anti-monster terrorists come in and shoot up the place and he cries and Toriel cries and then Toriel gets killed and says "be brave my children" or whatever and then Asriel cries and is abused for fifteen years.
During those fifteen years he has the mental dreams, in which he sees Flowey or Chara or whoever the fuck who's always saying "Heh... Kid.... It was always KILL OR BE KILLED..." while making a creepy face and Asriel goes "No I'm not!" and cries and then at the end Sans find him in the shed and he says "Asriel...?" and cries and they hug and cry a lot, and Asgore appears and they cry and hug a lot too. In the meantime, Papyrus has started up a hardcore monster supremacy organization.
After the shed they go to see the rest and they say "No Asriel it is not your fault" and cry and hug and he says "No it is my punishment for always being bad" and Frisk says *No and cries as well.
Just then Alphys stands up and breaks her legs thus making her an unfit mate for Undyne and she gets together with Papyrus and they do monster supremacy plans together because Papyrus thought the humans killed Gaster, but then Gaster comes back and says "No" in hands and he and Sans and Papyrus cry a lot and hug.
Everything seemed like it was happy but then Chara came into the room, he said "Ha ha fools I have become real because of mankind's evil" and Asriel with his newfround courage from his friends cried and hugged everyone one last time. "No, we will defeat you... Together" he said with Frisk and they fought. Chara was spared and cried and hugged everyone, and then died forever.
