Typed out the necessary events to unlock the various endings in BR. They're a rough translation but should be more or less translated similarly in the EN release.

Alcor & Ronaldo only require one, they're impossible to miss unless you're retarded and appear after 12:00 Friday.

Alcor:
理想の管理者 Ideal Administrator (Alcor event)

Ronaldo:
永遠の闘争 Eternal Struggle (Ronaldo event)

Yamato requires four. You will be locked out of attaining his ending if you do not take all of the following events. Only "Astrolabe" is required to progress the story, so don't wait for the game to prompt you to take them.

Yamato:
アストロラーベ Astrolabe (Story event, no picture) *eventually required to progress story, unlocks the following:
世界想像 The World Imagined (Yamato event)
管理者権限の力 Administrative Power (Yamato event)
新世界への道 Road to the New World (Yamato event) *Happens at the post-12:00 Fri. split at the same time that Alcor and Ronaldo's equivalent events become available. You won't see this if you did not take all three of the above before 12:00 Friday.

If you want to be safe if you're aiming for Yamato's ending, just do all main story events asap and all Yamato events asap starting Thursday and you'll be fine.

There's two versions of Yamato's ending, one where Alcor and Miyako are reborn and one where they aren't.

Just a tip: There are a shitload of fate events. You definitely won't be able to see all fate events you want in one playthough. I recommend maxing Alcor and Miyako's fates in the same playthrough and go through with Yamato's route to take advantage of it, so you don't have to repeat them and can free up time in your other playthroughs, assuming you want to see them reborn.

I'm playing SMT II. I just killed the Basalisk, and then dragged my sorry ass back to the tower to get healed.

However, the Messiah won't heal me. Every time I chose Heal HP/MP and select somebody, it just brings me back to the initial "What do you want?" menu.

Same thing for revivals or healing status ailments.

Is this normal? Because if there's no way around this I'm likely fucked and won't be able to keep playing.

Be wary of Enemy Scans in Sector C and beyond, always try to keep a party of demons that match your alignment and be sure to maintain a varied party. Use Doomguy's guns to cover an element if you really have to.
Also, Doomguy's guns have amazing utility ranging from ailment application to debuff+damage combos to straight up multi-hit attacks. Just don't forget that enemies CAN be immune to gun, and that your swords can still hit pretty hard.

You can cheese the password system. When you get a demon source, fuse a nice demon with that source then output a password and write it down. Don't save. Restart, input password for that demon, get demon, keep source. Of course this takes a long time so only do it if it's a source you really want to keep using (repel "...") etc..

I'm scared because I initially quit Nocturne after getting to the 2nd Kalpa. Seemed impossible even with a walkthrough. I did finish it without a walkthrough on my 2nd playthrough though. I'll man the fuck up and play through SJ blindly regardless of what happens

SJ has two advantages over Nocturne in regards to dungeon navigation: the fact that the bottom screen is dedicated to the map and the fact that you can usually tell when you're missing something due to a path abruptly ending OR looping in on itself. Always check walls and dead ends because you never know if/when you'll find a hidden door, gate, etc etc.

ALSO, one last thing: SIDEQUESTS. There's an NPC in your base of operations that offers a shitload of sidequests, a fair few of which yield decent (or better) rewards. Also, speaking to demons in the field will occasionally have them giving you sidequests too.
