Why didn't they just use the Dragon Balls to bring back MC?
Mudo and Agi even though her name means snow
What a rebel
What's going to be shown at E3 regarding Persona 5?
>uhh man I can't disprove his points uhh shit
>better tell him to get out xDDDD
>Can't disprove opinions
What if people came to /pg/ without the intention of stirring shit up or arguing with shit stirrers?
>poster didn't even prove his points
>uhh the replier also didn't prove his own points I'm totally gonna ignore my hypocrisy lol
Like I said, stop shitposting and go back to /smtg/. Shitposting here won't make the thread come alive.
>What if people came to /pg/ without the intention of stirring shit up or arguing with shit stirrers?
Not him but it be much preferred. Just civil discussion. Also for kindness.
Come on dude.
I love the part where you actually proved he was wrong. I mean there was that plothole discussion a few threads ago and the gameplay is obviously stupidly dumbed down press turn.
Yeah because you can prove opinions wrong, man.
>Gameplay is obviously stupidly dumbed down press turn
How so? Because it's not as difficult as SMT? Difficulty sure does define gameplay!
We actually settled almost all of those plotholes pretty amicably, if you actually read the thread.
It's basic JRPG ft. Pokepunchghostmons, calm down.
That wouldn't really be persevering. But I see you're persevering at telling me to do that, so good on you!
He's right though
Press turn is all about getting extra turns when you hit weaknesses
P3/P4 operates on the same concept but with all the penalties for messing up stripped away and without the skip system. I'd wager that you haven't played DDS or Nocturne because you'd know that the press turn systems in those games are intuitive and fun from a gameplay perspective, and that P3/P4 is the same thing but less.
Actually, yes, I have. Buffs and debuffs are pretty important. In other RPGs, however, I admit that I don't use their buffs and debuffs ever. But in P3 and P4, I did.
I didn't even buff and debuff in P1 and P2.
Maybe you should stop whining that when you grind so much, the difficulty gets dumbed down.
>you grind so much
not once did I say I 'grind so much', I'm saying setting up buffs and debuffs are annoying when the enemy can also debuff you and shit gets really stupid to manage
I always thought that was fair, though, and adds to the fun. If enemies couldn't debuff me, then wouldn't it be unfair if I could buff myself and debuff them but they can't do anything about it?
What? There were a handful that were listed but no argument were had against them.
>adds to the fun
The problem isn't the enemy being able to debuff you, the problem is that the three turn effect is stupid.
I'd take more stages then the stupid limit.
When I think of really shitty times I had in P3/4, it's when buffing and debuffing and maintaining it then the enemy debuffs once and I lose track of shit and say fuck it and go without buffs and scrape of the boss' stupid HP little by little because fuck you three turn limit
That sounds like you being both bad at the game and bad at counting
I'll admit that I sorta skipped out near the 300 mark, so all I can assume is that you were referring to >>100247223 and a few more posts down.
Most of their points being pretty quickly debunked.
This guy >>100252065 might've been the most sane man in the entirety of the last thread.
Also yeah what is your beef with the buffs.
Absolutely. He's also the fastest.
>That sounds like a personal problem.
I can't tell how many times I've read this before from the very same general (not thread).
You guys really don't have problems with the current buff/debuff system? I had absolute fucking hell with it. I mean fuck, never has buff/debuffs given me so much problem except Persona, it's so fucking shit.
Most of the time I spend two or three turns setting up Ma-kajas and Ma-kunda's then I need to do it all over again because lol three turns.
What's wrong, can't handle the QUALITY?
It blows my mind that there are people out there who think P4A had not just an acceptable, but good quality of animation.
Sega money doesn't touch the animation studios and the first anime was made before that merger anyway
No, I didn't had a problem with it. It's easy.
Then why are her arms twisted like that?
The only time you're going to use dragon hustle is in late-game bossfights like Margaret, Izanami, Kusumi.
Even then, it's completely unnecessary to use for Izanami and Kusumi because they go down quickly anyway.
So you're only going to use it on Margaret, unless you mean that there are people who honestly blow their SP items so that Chie can use dragon hustle in trash fights in Izanami's dungeon.
Then git gud for P5 fuck I dunno anon.
Yes. P4 was kinda lacking in it, with Nanako being the only one with daddy issues and all, so it was fixed in P4 Arena and Ultimax.
They even made a villian with daddy issues.
I don't understand what you're trying to say anymore.
Either way you can minmax way harder than Dragon Hustle
actually, no, there's not a better way to keep the party buffed
and if you don't understand using the concept of saving expensive moves for tough fights, I think maybe you should stay away from jrpgs
Atlus just can't get enough of 'em daddy issues. You think the staff has their own special daddy issues as well?
How much do you think about your waifu on average every day?
I think both the old and new staff have big father issues. Except Kaneko. He embraces the dick unabashed.
Get a persona with all the ma-kaja spells and you have a free dragon hustle for all of your fights, and you'll undoubtedly win before they wear off (or on bosses, it'll wear off but they'll be so weak that the only thing you need to re-apply is matarukaja, which kanji can do so that you can hassou tobi). There you go, SP efficient and consistently applicable minmaxing.
It's not saving expensive moves for tough fights. It's saving one expensive move for one tough fight. Because there's no point using it on anything except Margaret. So the rest of the time it's just sitting there taking up a slot in Chie's move list.
>tfw I also have my own daddy issues
I belong in Persona.
Come tell your father all about it. You can even sit on my lap, like the old times, son.
I can't think of this as anything but lewd now. I'm sorry Papa Nyarly.
>fighting Margaret as a team
For what purpose? Because of how easy it is to break P4, you're really meant to fight Margaret solo, just like the protagonist did in P3 when he fought Elizabeth. And even then Margaret's a pushover, meanwhile Elizabeth can pull the trigger on the 9999 Megidolaon thanks to certain conditions. Margaret only does it on a certain turn.
I'm not that other guy, no offense if this is who I think it is. But I hold nothing against you either way in this case, if this is who I think it is.
I'd say around Rise's kidnapping if I had to guess, but I wouldn't be surprised to be wrong. Rise because Adachi was with them catching the fanboy, and knew they were looking into it. I'm possibly wrong though.
Possibly. I wouldn't be surprised.
You only have yourself to blame for thinking that way. Come give your father a kiss.
chie doesn't do anything besides dragon hustle and power charge god hands
the slot you free up by not using dragon hustle wouldn't be used for anything else, and besides that it's usable on izanami as well
since you need to get dragon hustle before margaret unlocks, not doing so is just an admittance that you are intentionally gimping yourself for the two hardest fights in the game
I'm getting an erection!
>the best way to use chie is to not use chie
I'm curious, why does /pg/ like Persona? Specific answers are recommended.
I thought about this just now and the only thing I'm sure I like about the series is
>hardest fights in the game
This isn't saying much. Honestly I'd put Kusumi ahead of Izanami by a very wide margin as well because of her gimmick, Izanami is easy as shit.
You could also spin this to say that you're gimping yourself by bringing Chie for her power charged god hands over Kanji for his power charged primal forces.
If you ask me, you don't need to fight defensively on the Izanami fight at all because she is offensively weak. So there's no reason to not bring Kanji over Chie and have him Matarukaja when Chie would've Dragon Hustled, and he'll be outputting more damage than Chie does.
You're right that Chie doesn't have anything else that could fill up the slot Dragon Hustle uses, though. At least nothing that I can think of off the bat.
That's some mighty negative thinking. Persona RPGs are always fun, in varying degrees.
Besides, P5 is pretty much guaranteed to be better than P4 at this point.
The best way to use Chie is to use her to AoE physical trash in a dungeon to save SP and maybe get some crits to knock things down and galatic punt. Against bosses/single-target she's almost always outclassed by Kanji
light and dark are definitely better for clearing trash than praying on 75% hit 5% crit agneyastra, even with apt pupil and auto masuku
nobody will ever have sp concerns as soon as rise gets her cool breezes that affect the whole party
Heavy character focus with likable characters
Varied and interesting demon designs
Good atmosphere and style
Gameplay isn't especially complex but it is fun
I like all the psychology pseudomagic
I'll be brutally honest. I wanted to live the idealized fantasy of high school gone better. I was a complete wimp and pushover in high school, since I let others take advantage of me, and rarely fought back.
I idealized Door-Kun because he had so much going for him. Don't get me wrong, I really do like the gameplay, the music, the artwork, the characters, the lore, the plot, and the aesthetics. Everything just meshes well together, and am super hyped for P5 as well. I can't wait to see how they pull P5 off.
That just makes Chie worse
Being able to crit and AoE is the only thing she does better than Kanji
But between Naoto, Yu and Chie you'll finish fights with AoE physicals while spending 0 SP, even before you get Rise's SP bonus
After you get it yes it is better to use light/dark on Naoto's turn before phys AoE with Yu and Chie
But we've already established that the only time you'll seriously use Dragon Hustle is on Margaret
So what I'm getting here is that Chie is just absolutely useless unless you're fighting margaret
This is silly
What I've got from all this is
Dragon Hustle is unnecessary except for Margaret
Chie is better at clearing trash than Kanji due to phys Aoe, punt, crits
Kanji is better than Chie at doing single-target damage and thus better for bosses (unquestionably so for all bosses before Kusumi)
In the end I didn't change my mind about anything at all
>Mothman is the cutest now that I think about it.
I used to have nightmares about this thing when I was young.
But SMT Mothman is adorable.
Okay /pg/, Atlus picked you to handle balancing and difficulty for P5, what do you do?
Sony will probably just show the logo to remind people that the game's coming.
And maybe Soejima will be there as an observer.
I don't expect any sort of info blowout, though.
Make the difficulties less retarded than health bumps.
Like, special moves or some shit for harder difficulties, single turn delays on easier difficulties where everyone takes jabs at you for being a little bitch.
A qt3.14 whose only crime was managing the ovens in his bakery.
Go maximum overcunt and and go beyond Nocturne hard mode levels of "Picked the wrong demons and grew your characters wrong for this area? Guess what the enemy went first and now you're dead."
and then for fun I'd include a reincarnation system where you're absolutely expected to die, can't reload your save, have to keep playing with the consequences of death, and only a perfect game with no wipe outs even once will allow you to see the best ending.
