If you want a single player MMO that's actually worth playing, try Kingdoms of Amalur.
It did the entire "offline MMO" thing much better and has better original lore too.
Game was my guilty pleasure, combat is shallow, visuals are more or less DA:O mixed with WoW, but the fully OC lore and the large sprawling world drew me in.
Also the game was made as an MMO in development but then retooled as single player when they realized they're going bankrupt, so instead of killing the game they just did their best to turn it into single player so people can still try it out and see all the lore and shit they crafted.

I wish Secret World and some other now-dead MMOs has devs like that, turning game into full SP.

Then he broke up with me. I was horrified. Did I answer something wrong? Why did he suddenly want to distance himself from my character? I searched the internet from answers, only to find that no, I couldn't have done anything to prevent it. I would have started the game over just to undo that.
As I went on playing, I was so sad that he wouldn't talk to me anymore. He wouldn't tell me stories like he used to. It really upset me, way more than a video game should.
I was bummed, wanting to put less and less time into the game. Why did I invest myself so much in a character that I couldn't even romance for real!? I was pissed. Deciding I didn't care about spoilers, I went on a wiki and read about Solas. I read everything.
You guys know what I found out, and it was terrible. I mean, I'm all for loving villains and stuff, but come on!! We had something special!

My main problem is the tedious pace if you want to do side content. The only way I can play DAI nowadays is with a flying mod and using equipment on my rogue character to multiply his speed during stealth.

Still I'd argue against it being better than DA2. It certainly isn't as rushed, but at least the story wasn't as much of a clusterfuck (even though it's pretty much pointless after Gaiden's novels and DAI) and the combat was better. Also while dumbed down to the dialogue wheel, your dialogue options still changed things and opened other dialogue options based on your personality. DAI has nothing of that sort. You can only "buy" additional options via Inquisition perks, which leads to dwarves with detailed knowledge about magic.

That can literally break some character romances if you use the thoughtful gifts to spam yourself to high approval.
Some gifts can get you out of the shit zone in the regular game but I think that is kinda fair in DA:O because the game does not smash it into your face which answer is the right one because it was back when BW did not make games for babbies only. And some people dislike reloading saves when they fucked up because they want to stick with their choices.

FACT: Anora was pushing 30 and hadn't had any children. Many nobles thought she was barren.
FACT: Eamon suggested the King divorce her and find a new wife so that the Kingdom had an heir.
FACT: The King was known for being very much in love with Anora and was furious with anyone suggesting he leave her.
FACT: The King was making peace with Orlais and was friends with the Empress. Most of their correspondence was about sharing troops to fight the Blight and Darkspawn.
FACT: No romantic correspondence between the two was ever found, nor was there ever anything in-game showing the King was interested in the Empress.
FACT: Loghain was aware his daughter was barren and people were pressuring the King to leave her.
FACT: Loghain HATES the Orlesians and does not wish peace with them.
FACT: Loghain knows the King was trying to make peace with the Orlesians.
FACT: Loghain suspected that peace would have to do with divorcing his daughter and marrying the Empress, despite mountains of evidence to the contrary and nothing substantiating this belief.
FACT: Loghain murdered his King as a result.
