As this year is coming to an end and Falllout 4 is probably going to be shit
Whats your GOTY /v/?
well if it's mine, pic related for sure
what's scary about it?
is it that it's bigger than the "main" game?
the party restricting doors?
or that there's a boss that will wreck you at the end of every dungeons?
dungeons are that bigger, complex, and more trollish than anything in the "main" game?
or perhaps that the tower has 30 floors?
You know the year is bad when a below average dragonball z game is considered your GOTY
Still clocked 200 hours on it regardless
I don't have a definitive answer until I play XCX.
As it stands right now, Bloodborne and Undertale are my top contenders I suppose.
There's also the BB expansion DLC hitting, which may solidify its position as a frontrunner even if XCX is XCellent.
I don't think I've bought any other games released this year.
It isn't bad by itself but at the same time it is nothing special. Pick Arkham City and add the batmobile and prettier graphics. That's it, same rehashed shit.
Plus the PC port showed how Rocksteady went full retard and cocky with their success.
Probably still Bloodborne.
It's a kinda boring series. Novelty of the Batman thing wore off entirely after Arkham City.
The combat is just too braindead to support a game full of it, the platforming isn't even worth mentioning and the superficial aspects didn't exactly improve.
So what has been released this year?
>Ori and the blind forest
>Yoshi Wooly World
>The Witcher 3
>Batman Arkham Knight
>Super Mario Maker
>Monster Hunter 4U
>Street Fighter V Beta
I am sure I am missing a lot of games.
rocket league is a lot of fun and its good to see the devs making free updates. crossplay also keeps communities alive and fresh and should really be a standard for all games these days
I didnt played every major realese of this year but i dont think anything will top Undertale.
Witcher 3 and Tales from Borderlands where close tho.
Bloodborne maybe, considering how much i loved Dark Souls but i dont have ps4
So yes, Undertale is the winner for now
I'm a bit of a Resident Evil fan so my GOTY would be REmake HD.
But apart from that MH4U or Witcher 3. I've got Fallout preordered but whilst I'll have fun with it it's not something I would choose for GOTY.
Haven't had such a joy playing a game since forever. Best RPG of the last decade.
Still waiting for Just Cause 3 that's going to be one great game. But it cannot beat Geralt and pals.
Fallout going to suck.
As of now the most enjoyable game experience I've gotten is the new Fire Emblem
I'll probably enjoy Fallout4 and pray the doomsaying is overblown. Even if that's shit and Xenoblade is somehow also shit I still have at least Fates to fall on.
I haven't played that many 2015 games but my personal GOTY would be SKEV. Bloodborne is probably close second,
I might beat atelier ayesha plus though before the year ends.
>Grindy WoW clone
This place is fucking delusional.
Havent played much this year.
So far my GOTY is Age of Decadence, but even that (despite being good) is just retreading 90s CRPG shit with a neat setting, not really that game changing.
Hoping 'Hard West' is good, comes from slavs so i hope its worth it.
Its even beaten out Ghost Trick as my overall favorite game.
Why has this year sucked so much?
Where's the great games like in 2007 or 2008?
I'd have to go with Fallout 4. Second would be Gears of War remaster. I was disappointed with Arkham Knight and the MCC. Halo 5 could be deserving I guess.
this is actually way better than youd expect
probably wont be on any goty lists, but is worth checking out senpai
What defines GOTY ?
If you mean scores, then Undertale is clearly winning.
If you mean innovation, well i dont think Witcher or Bloodborne are that original.
If you mean sales, then fucking COD or some other shit should win
its still the king
My personal GOTY
It's the underdog, and depending on who you ask this game doesn't really exist and is simply a fantasy because they refuse to live in a world where they can't play it.
We will find out in February when bracketfag holds the 2015 GOTY /v/ bracket.
Can't wait for the salt.
EVERYTHING ON THIS SITE IS MEMES
FIND ME ONE DAMN THING THAT IS NOT A MEME OR STOP USING THAT WORD
I was shocked to see ayy winning that poll. There was a single autist in the one thread I voted in who was resetting his router and typing in "Bayo" a SHITLOAD of times. Oh, and he only reset his router after we called him out for samefafging and voting more than once , so yeah . I was surprised.
That would be useless. I can see Undertale fans cheating in every poll/thread, posting and voting multiple times. They can hardly accept criticism about the game, they will never let their precious game lose.
Because all the games are out and at least most people would have time to play them.
Posting more brackets to show off /v/'s exquisite taste.
Shovel Knight Plague of Shadows
If DLC doesn't count then Devil Survivor 2 Record Breaker
If a remake doesn't count...I dunno then.
I didn't know /v/ became a community of hipsters.
>Wow Undertale is a great game! It combines all the elements of a good rpg and builds on them in interesting new ways!
>uhh... why is everyone liking it?
>WOW UNDERTALE FUCKING SUCKS
I just. Like wow. Go grab yourself a starbucks and slap your buttplug back in for the love of god.
Been here since 2008 friendo. Was shit back then but it seems that the shit has spawned various cases of more shit which then spawned at least three or four separate shits after that.
I knew /v/ as the rage filled shithole that was home to some insightful ideas and some interesting recommendations.
Now it's just a cesspool of bait, anger and hipsters.
I've played most of the major releases this year and I think i'd have to go with Bloodborne.
pretty sad considering Bloodborne wasn't even that good.
at least the game was somewhat of a challenge. everything else was babby level easy.
Undertale or Rocketleague would be my two possibilities right now.
Go on, tell me to go back to reddit.
Or maybe, just maybe, /v/ is not a hivemind and is actually full a a shitload of people with different opinions.
Maybe those opinions vary, especially on a game as polarizing as something like Undertale, because some people played it and loved it and some people played it and disliked it. And because they're anonymous, they all blend together! Who would have thought!
Let's not forget that there are also people who didn't play, aka the majority of people on this board, will hate it on principle because /v/ hates shit that get's constantly spammed and forced down their throats.
Or the people who hate it on principle because they dislike indie games, furries, homestuck, etc.
You stupid fuck.
Either this or super mystery dungeon
>been here since x
S H I T P O S T E R
I think it has more to do with expectations than anything else
People like undertale most out of all the games this year went into it thinking it was just another shitty indie game when it's actually alright
On the other hand as everyone was expecting the witcher 3, mgsV, bloodborne, etc. to be the gods sends and they didn't hold up to that hype
It also doesn't help that while the tech gets better videogames get slightly more average every year
witcher 3 with bloodborne being a close second
anon desu, your autism is scaring me
I recently started playing Tales of Majeyal, I don't know when it was released but I've had the most fun running characters through it this year so that's my pick.
I was hoping dungeon defenders 2 would be more feature complete as it was recently publically released too but it's lacking a lot of what made the original one of my favourite games, maybe next year that'll be it.
Witcher 3 so far, by far the best incorporation of an open world in any game
For what it was undertale is REALLY good but I think the amount of good content in w3 just outweighs it. Moment for moment though undertale is probably the most 'dense' game I've ever played. Really strong throughout
Divinity EE is really good as well but seeing as it's a reboot I wouldn't put it above either of the others
Mgsv was a good experience for a while but it drops off way too hard to be compared to these games. W3's combat may have been mediocre, which was a product of it being too easy imo because just the first fight of the expansion is a huge improvement, atleast it was there; mgsv's story and pacing was so trashily thrown together it's pretty embarrassing
Gotta give it to Bloodborne. It will probably be even better once the expansion is out. To be fair, the other games I played this year, that were also released this year, were fucking Hotline Miami 2 and Until Dawn, so I don#t have a great overview.
