Best VA and dialogue hands down, comfy as fuck game you can drop hours into, good length, lots of gameplay value. It's a visually impressive game as well and much more so due to the scale and diversity of the world.

Bloodborne
Excellent combat mechanics, atmosphere is abolsutely nailed and perfected to a a T. Level design is incredibly good with good pacing.

IMO bloodborne is getting the goty but witcher 3 is really good in its own right.

Full idort here, it was ok but definitely the worst Souls game. Framerate was Demon's souls-tier which is embarrassing given that they've had an extra six years to learn how to write code. Online was a bit underhelming aside Co-Op but BB is the only AAA game this year that I felt was amazing.

1. The Witcher 3 - Gameplay was sup-bar, but it was definitely not as bad as some people say, basically it's bamham without the ebin combos. The story and VA work is incredible, the quest design is solid at worst and beautiful at best, the graphics are mindblowing and it has real thought and heart put into it.

2. MGSV - Even though it was a huge disappointment, it was still a great game. The gameplay is fantastic, FOX engine is fantastic and it had some great moments.

3. Cities: Skylines - I'm a sucker for a good city sim, and this bad boy delivered. Especially with the DLC, it's just a really great game.

And if I'd have to guess who gets the most GOTYs, I'd say The Witcher 3.

At least look up the key quests. They're 99 % hunting quests and you never have to grind for any armor if you're good enough. I completely ignored the crafting mechanics until I was G Rank.

And what is bad about collecting materials about armors with unique gems only YOU have and no one else on the fucking niternet because they are this rare? When you know the moveset of the monster you can predict and punish 99% of shit he can pull against you. It's not different for bloodborne as well except looks way more impressive as you can actually do animation cancels with pretty strict timings which is exactly what guy on webm above does by combining charge into visceral after stunning amy's head.

You must be clinically braindead to believe Souls has somehow deeper or better and more polished gameplay than MH which at this point also is 60 FPS and doesn't prioritize better graphics over better playability.

Perfect positioning, perfect timing, your very own play style; going full counter lancing, ifreames with Evasion +1 and Dual Sword which let you sidehop since 2005 or hit and run with a Great Sword which requires knowing the monster inside out so you can actually charge your blade and get more hits in that aren't just shitty level 1 charges.

There also are bows and guns which are actually good and fun unlike bows in Souls.

You know, Souls probably owes a lot of debt to Monster Hunter for its combat system.

It has that same slow and weighty combat system that MH has had since 2004 that forces you to strategizes over mashing buttons. It has that same "tie your special evasive options like rolling and running to stamina" gameplay. The tail-cuts-turn-into-weapons mechanic was also probably taken from Monster Hunter.

Subsequently, the popularity of Souls has led to people searching for other games like it, and Monster Hunter, as the Souls series's older brother of sorts, is one of them.

I know for one that I got into MH after people in the Souls community told me how awesome it was.

So it's a mutually beneficial relationship. So I don't know why Souls and MH fans are at each other's throats here.
