The general attitude towards him on /v/ is pretty depressing. I remember when there would be posts on /v/ excitedly reminding others of new episodes whenever they came out. Nowadays it's just constant shitposting, relentless "kek" and "just" maymays, and god knows what else.
His channel is certainly one of the only watchable game-related youtube channels, and is still downright entertaining. I don't understand exactly why people say he had a "downward spiral", or why no one says anything halfway towards positive about him anymore. I have no idea where all this "kek" shit came from, either. Although I'm sure half the 15-year-olds don't even know what the word means and are just spewing phrases for the sake of the bandwagon at this point. Is that all these posts are? I think he has grown a little tired of the character. He (and Mike) are definitely focusing more on their Mondays gameplay videos now, which are definitely the best "Let's Plays" on youtube - actual editing, boring hit cutout, showing the footage, shots of them, and sometimes both together; it all goes a long way to make the videos genuinely enjoyable to watch.

I agree it's pretty sad he doesn't do the videos as frequently as he used to, but it's definitely not a downward spiral. And Board James has been awesome, too. Looking forward to the second "finale".

Early videos are great, but as the production value went up so did the cringe. His videos had a certain charm to them of someone wanting to make something, but not having the skills and equipment to do it. As he got better equipment and editing skills the acting got worse and his videos developed a certain shitty look to them that can only be described as "poser filmmaker". i.e. "I'm not good at making movies, but I'll spend some money to make it look like one."
