supposedly it's capped at 60hz/60fps, so gg if you bought a monitor after the year 2000.
>>
>>315366112
Why have they literally not changed the settings since Morrowind for any of their game?
>>
>>315366112
What about the ingame settings? Hz settings are normally in there not in the preload settings.
>>
>>315366340
i imagine it'll do this anyway
also this doesn't happen in any previous bethesda game, good job bethesda!
>>
I'm sure you can modify the init file somewhere to unlock the framerate, this isn't console we are talking about.
>>
>>315366684
yes you can, but the problem is that the engine doesn't do well when you go over 60fps. This is from the guy that's leaking this, I can't confirm it. but I do know that was a problem in skyrim.
>>
>>315366112
Good. Any FPS over 60 makes the game freak out.
>>
Not surprised, when Gamebyro/Creation Engine was rendering at 60+ FPS a fuck load of physics problems happened including swimming in the air and objects flying fucking everywhere
>>
>>315366815
That's exactly the problem you mong.
>>
>>315366810
Beth games may have a lot of bugs and shitty settings choices but typically the performance isn't that bad, most computers should be able to maintain the 60.

That being said I really wish developers would realize that even if you have a 60hz monitor being able to go above 60fps is very useful to prevent drops.
>>
its 60 again because anything higher breaks the physics.

just like skyrim.

>needing anything higher than 60fps
>playing at meme framerates
>>
I'm a quiet freak and I always cap the framerate at 60 so my fans don't spin up by having always running as fast as possbile.
>>
goddamn I want to play fallout 4, but if it's not supportive of 144hz I am out.
>>
>>315367187
I don't even own a 120hz/144hz monitor but even when I played on one at my friend's place it feels a lot better. Not as substantial as 30 to 60 but it's still there.
>>
This endless whining and nitpicking is why pc is a dead and irrelevant platform now
>>
>>315367303
Im sure someone will take your bait
>>
>>315367006

You're not going to get drops if your rig can consistently handle the game, faggot.
>>
>>315367286
Fair enough. I was somewhat shitposting, but I can agree that it's retarded that it can't go higher thanks to shit devs and a shit engine.
>>

from the PC stream.

thats weird because I don't see any shadows, and the streamer said he put it on ultra.
>>
>>315367413
Even a good rig can suffer drops at 60fps if you suddenly have something suddenly performance heavy happen. Going over 60 acts like a buffer.

Like 100 fatmans exploding at once
>>
>>315367371
you did friend
>>
>>315367498
ok I didn't see the bottom pictures. there's clearly shadows there.
>>
>>315367575
Taking the bait would imply I think you're serious

I know you're not
>>
>>315367473
Fair enough man, it's /v/ and shitposting is pretty much the norm especially for Fallout 4 threads. And yeah it's pretty shitty and retarded that they still tie physics with the framerate rather than having them independent with each other. But then again the code base of Fallout 4 is based off an internal Skyrim XB1 port.
>>
The human eye can't see above 24 fps. Glorious Todd Howard in his infinite wisdom generously granted us an extra 36fps to show his benevolence.

Just as he allowed us to keep the S.P.E.C.I.A.L stats to sate our inferior minds to ease us into the wonderful world of streamlining.

Know your place heretic.

Looks like the original BioShock
>>
>>315366112
would people really choose 60+fps over 1440p?

why?
this isn't counter strike

There are shadows there, its just not very good.

I dont know what they did. It doesnt look, defined enough?

Like the shadows are not pronounced like you would expect. Its almost too uniform.
>>
>>315367698
Did you expect anything else after Skyrim's UI?

>>315367662
Oh yeah and source.

http://www.gameinformer.com/b/news/archive/2015/11/03/fallout-4-development-began-by-porting-the-elder-scrolls-skyrim-to-xbox-one.aspx

Whether this means Fallout 4 will still have 3.1GB RAM limitations like Skyrim did I don't know.
>>
>>315367791
60fps is fine, but 60hz is not. it looks really wonky on a 120 or 144hz monitor, which is pretty much the norm.
>>
>>315367650
i'm not even the guy who made the post
>>
>>315368217
Well im you from the future
>>
>>315368256
did you cum yet
>>
I would hope you can change settings in game. Only being able to in a launcher is retarded.

Also why did anyone expect it to run at higher than 60 fps. Skyrim didn't.

well we know who the target audience is now
>>
>>315369243
>Also why did anyone expect it to run at higher than 60 fps.

because tying framerate to shit is retarded and fucking dated by years and years?

because even amateur shitty half assed games like dragon age inquisition can do 144fps?

because alot of pc gamers have monitors with hzs over 60 now, and having a game run at half the frames it could be just because of lazy as fuck programming is bullshit?
>>
>>315371813
Well yeah they shouldn't tie things to framerate but what I was getting at was that Skyrim was locked to 60 fps so I don't know why people thought FO4 wouldn't be too.
>>
>>315367006
Have you ever played Skyrim without vsync? vertical mouse sensitivity is tied to fps. In a small room where you get 250fps it's 10 times higher than in a big outdoor scene where you only get 60fps.

FPS locks are there for a reason. Because the game engine is shit.

The game looks the same on consoles as it does on PC. Only with PC you get 30 more frames maybe depending on the optimization and dick girl mods.
