They were never hopelessly outgunned. All the enemy had was fake Valks, everything else was beyond negligible considering fresh students mopped the floor with them with absolutely zero strategy. If they didn't even have those Valks I doubt Lanseal would even have 10% of it's casualties.

It's like you never played 1 or 3. Gallian corruption was huge. It wasn't about them being poor, it was about them jewing their own nation and then blaming it on jews.

The rebels were of really high nobility. Even more so than the princess of Gallia herself (for obvious reasons).

Yeah, Gallia is corrupt, but VC2 showed another angle, as in that they are literally not shying away from actual creation of Valkyrur (not just the pseudo ones they experiment with), essentially making weapons of mass destruction.

That plotpoint will carry onward into the future. I am a mega fan of VC1 and 3 and I do think they have dark undertones too. But VC2 is not so fluffy as people want to make it out to be.

It's pretty much implied that the mecha guys could be saved given how Leon was. It's just that you filled Leon with lead before you figured out how so he died. Julianna died because unlike the rebels she didn't have a giant battery truck powering her, so she drained her energy and died after going all out on Leon.

Avan on the other hand being Avan can only charge forward and attack. Remember he is canonically an unchanging character who only claims he grew up when the only actions he took at the end of the game were throwing away his brother's diary; a meaningless change since he already took all those lines to heart so his brother lives on in him. He's still the dumb kid in 3 who would use a stock rifle and charge a boss tank by himself if he thought he had to.

The only recognized Gallian Valkyria is Alicia. Its stated in the artbook that no one outside of the Nameless was aware Riela was a valkyria. Besides, since Alicia was at Lanseal, they probably thought she was fighting there. That, or they were under orders from Cordelia to leave Alicia and Welkin alone.
