Does this game get any better? I heard there were spookies, when are the spookies?
it gets spoopy. keep playing.
also Ashley is best girl.
Josh, who is mentally unstable, is pranking them. Then it turns out that, on a completely unrelated note, Wendigos are out to kill everyone at the same time he's doing this. Everyone besides Josh can make it out alright.
At no point is it spooky, the characters fuck over every possible chance for that to happen with the god awful acting. The Wendigo designs are god awful as well. The guy playing Josh can't even act like he's fucked in the head, so the disturbing content comes off as stupid and cringeworthy. It's a 4/10 at best.
HOLY FUCK WHY DO YOU RETARDS DO THIS?
>question about a game
>posts a vague screenshot
>never says name of the game
>never even hints at it
>get pissy when thousands of people ask what game it is
only if you're bad at the game
Because I took the screenshot fag.
UD Power Levels
1. Sam's bath towel
4. Flamethrower Guy
5. One Punch Psycho
6. The Monsters
7. Ashley's butt
jesus her body is fucked up looking
top kek giant traps and neck like a line backer and then the rest of the body is like an asian boy with gyno
You guys seriously thought it was spoop? I mean I really like this game but it was nowhere near scary. It had a bunch of jump scares but that's it. It honestly felt more like an action movie after a while, what with Nathan Drake lite and everything. I mean it's still really fun but not scary at all.
the choices in this game are far better than any movie game.
>Yfw your perfect waifu had her head torn clean off right in front of you
Fuck me man
She kills Chris if you try and shoot her with the fake gun like she's begging you to because she doesn't want Chris to kill himself. Thats the only thing that affects her choice to kill him or not. If you listen to her, later in the game she'll kill you. Psycho.
is a totem piece down there so you are supposed to investigate it. Just don't open it. There is an exit on the right.
don't shoot her then, idiot. Would you rather be a selfish murderer or die a self-less hero?
Ashley wouldn't have shot Chris if she had the gun.
>Clearly huffing and puffing with full intent of little piggy blowjobs while doing her breathing for six consecutive child births simultaneously
>Wendigo obviously notices, else it wouldn't have reacted
>PLOT ARMOR KICKS IN, ugly monster loses all sense and just darts off
I seriously hope the game's intention was to be a cheesy horror movie and not in any way a "serious" story. It sure lost that opportunity when the whole Wendigo shit was the focus of the story.
The worst moment is by far the final part of the game. Throughout the game, I had the hardest time doing the 'keep the controller still' bits. I'd stop moving, but for some reason, the controller thought I had been moving.
So once the final cabin bit came along, I was sweating like a sinner in church! Once the option to flip the switch came up, I took it.
>"Yeah! I beat the game!"
>Ashley and Mike die in a horrible blaze of death.
>"SHIT! CLOSE APPLICATION! CLOSE APPLICATION!"
Had to do that over. I actually managed to save everyone except Matt. ...Shoulda given him the flare gun. My bad...
>I seriously hope the game's intention was to be a cheesy horror movie
That's clearly what the entire intent was. How retarded could you be to not notice that?
>missed 1 QTE while doing all risky choices
>but says I was successful
What? Is my waifu dead?
I've never 180'd on a character as hard as Mike. At the beginning he was just the scummiest dumb jock character I'd ever seen, and by the end he was a fucking badass going toe to toe with
I don't have a table in front of me. And chances are, when the QTE comes up, I'm already holding the controller in my hands and moving it would just make me lose.
Still, I guess keeping it on the floor during the entire final bit is the best idea.
Keep playing the game.
Because if you don't know what the game is then you have no proper discussion to give, if you can't figure it out based on a common screenshot then you clearly don't know and should leave the thread you fucking faggot.
There are no spookies. The game actually looks pretty impressive, especially for consoles, but the story is fucking garbage. The death scenes were enjoyable at least, and it has more replay value than shit like TWD or Life is Strange, but overall I don't think it's worth $60
who is she based on? kinda looks like this model
>I seriously hope the game's intention was to be a cheesy horror movie
I haven't even played the game yet and I know that it's a send up of 80's slasher horror movies, you idiot.
>chances are, when the QTE comes up, I'm already holding the controller in my hands and moving it would just make me lose.
I had no problem doing it the first time I played through the game. Most of the "don't move" things are telegraphed as fuck. Git gud.
>mfw she shown her titties
>Let Matt die
and then the bitch just sits there shitting on Matt during the interview, despite trying my fucking best to save her dumb ass.
Matt dying was the one part of the game which felt like utter bullshit.
Emily did nothing wrong and she is always right.
Ashley is the easiest character to spook in the game.
at the end
if your relationship is good with Matt she demands to know where he is. If Matt dies and she lives, she gets really sad.
that's bullshit that some weird monsters could use that as a "trap," They are fucking monsters that use motion to hunt...no way they somehow can start crying help out of nowehre
Matt really only has to die if you do everything in your power to help Emily. It's funny how she seems to be the most hated character, and yet Matt seems to be the most killed. Either a lot of people hope Emily will stop being such a cunt after some kindness, or they're just pushovers.
so is there really just no way to save them?
Matthewmitosis lost her shit a lot, so it must be at least slightly scary to normies/grills. That doesn't mean it is actually scary, but at least there is a precedent for people thinking it is.
Chris and Josh best characters. Wendigos could have been done better.
Asheys a fucking bitch I liked the chook better than here tb.h. Ashley fucking gets chris killed the bitch
no i mean like what if one lives and has survivor guilt but gets over it. Then Josh does his thing asking people to come over. That would be the final test for one of the twins and she would have the closure she needs. But when she gets there, she feels like something is wrong because they never found the body.
there were plenty of other wendigos still alive and the flamethrower guy did kill a few. So she might have eaten some there. But then again it would be so hard for Josh to set up the traps with one the twins there.
Fucking Matt was the only one that died on me and I didnt have any control over it. Start level in cave after tower falls, start walking, cutscene, creature shows up and starts dragging Matt, I have no control, no button promps, no evading it. Gets hung up on a hook and dies. Fucking random bullshit. I did give him the flaregun but he just shoots it up in the sky, no control there either. Black guy always dies first, good riddance, worst character.
My biggest greivance I think with Until Dawn is that Mike and Sam literally cannot die until the very end of the game.
I failed literally every single one of Mike's QTEs, just to hope he died because I hated his character archetype.
In fact, the worst part of Until Dawn is the first 2 hours or so. Its unbelievably boring and its all about building character development for characters you're so obviously supposed to hate.
Emily has zero redeeming qualities and just comes off as an absolute cunt, so why wouldn't I shoot her in the fucking face, or let her fall into a rock grinder when I get the chance?
The twist of josh being the psychopath is also incredibly obvious.
HMMM WHAT CHARACTER DO YOU NEVER PLAY AS? WHO OWNS THE MANSION? WHOS THE ONLY ONE WITH THE MOTIVATION TO FUCK WITH THESE KIDS?
Exactly the same fucking opinion of him, but I watched stream, where dude had only Sam and Jessica and Mike alive, at the end that nigga killed mike just because lol, I could fucking believe I wasted like 10 fucking hours watching some dickhead kill my favorite character
> Watching streams
never again DansGaming never again
You are not a fucking hero, you are dead, dead don't get to keep titles, its your job as a living being to survive as long as possible against all forces of the universe against you
Went through this game recently. It's kind of neat. I can't tell if some characters are -supposed- to die in every playthrough or not. Does Josh and miner guy always die? What happens if you send the sawblade to Ashley?
i had no idea she was this pretty.
It seems you adhere to some vague moral standard as a means for a sort of self satisfaction of some sort. However I can assure you your ways are erroneous and illogical compared to schopenhauer's teachings of Wile zum Leben which asserts that self-preservation is the ultimate goal of every sentinent being. We can all agree that compassion of life is a righteous goal in society, However, because the other anon's decision was influenced soley on self preservation -- not on hatred -- how are we to judge the morality of his actions when Chris's dilemma was, quite literally, his self-preservation or taking a journey into the unknown?
On the subject of morality, Ashely has shown to be lacking thereof! Her denial of assistance of Chris's peril had clear malice and passion, and not of self- preservation. You bring to question fair Anon's morality, when you who champion such a lady brings to question your efficacy on logic and morality.
why would make chris do stupid shit like shoot ashley in the first place?
How the fuck is Ashley described as 'academic' on her introduction? She tries to murder Em based in a hysterical misunderstanding of what 'cannibalism' means, then responds to a perfectly reasonable account of how Wendigos work as being 'OCD'. All she does the entire game is whine and freak out.
As I said, self-preservation is the most primary and intuitive instincts of sentient life. Josh very clearly stated to Chris that the death of one preserves the life of the other(only after the fact do we realize that the entire plot was a ruse). When Anon chose to shoot Ashely, he was adhering to our most base of instincts. What you describe as "stupid shit" is actually what propels all life on this planet. Self-preservation has a driving force for the complete history of all life on this planet. Do you not realize the futility of arguing against such a grounded force?
I am not saying that morality his "stupid shit" either; I believe morality takes second place, instinctively, to preserving life closest to oneself.
she reads a lot. she is constantly spooped because of her own imagination.
>Can't kill Mike
>Can't kill Sam
>Can't save Josh
>Stupidly limited control over that Matt death
These things really piss me off, but other than that, good game. Very impressive variation by current standards. And I like that the variation is all based in cause and effect, in ways that can't necessarily be predicted but still make sense, rather than just being stupid ass "obvious nice response/inexplicable asshole response" like most choice-based games, or even "x character is alive/x character is dead" which is all I expected from it.
Emily is a bitch but she was right about everything.
>Watched the totem for this one over and over again because I wasn't sure what the fuck I was seeing at the start
>Realise there's a hand
>Avoid the whole thing entirely
>Got to keep my fingers and my machete
I later went on to have everyone survive my first time through as well. Even
Josh. Those totems were preddy gud if you analysed some of them like a motherfucker.
What things did you manage to figure out before the game reveal, anons?
>Guessed that Josh was the killer but took it back because I thought it was too obvious. Double-bluffed myself so the reveal still caught me
>Guessed from the very beginning that The Stranger was a good guy
>Figured out that the wendigo had to be some sort of animal-style thing because of its gait when you see it moving from first-person view before its reveal
>Only worked out it was Hannah after the Beth's Head reveal.
>I seriously hope the game's intention was to be a cheesy horror movie
how stupid are you?
>>Guessed from the very beginning that The Stranger was a good guy
Uh... how about reach up to the guy who's very fucking obviously trying to help you, you stupid fuck nugget!
Entire fucking game, "Oh no creepy guy who's obviously trying to help us, ruuuun" NO YOU FUCKING IDIOT
It's bullshit that it's a choice that only affects how Dr Hill reacts to you in his first scene, but obviously the reason why Beth can't just reach up and grab his arm is because she's holding onto a branch with one hand, and holding onto Hannah with the other.
Take a good snapshot of the two of you, admit you were scared when she scared you, don't scare her with the mask, don't pick her up with the spookies spook you, instead grab the key, and then quickly find the matches and turn on the light.
I did it first try, man.
I'll be paraphrasing a bit, but if I remember right, letting go means Dr Hill - in a calm tone - says
>I'm afraid you can't change what happened last year
>What matters the most...Is the future!
>So...you have decided to commence with this 'game.' This is significant.
And then he asks you to do the questions with the card and how it makes you feel
If you drop Hannah, Dr Hill is a lot more aggressive towards you at first
>I told you, you can't change what happened last year!
>You can ONLY affect the future. Accept it and move on.
>I want to help you out with this 'game' of yours.
And then the card etc.
Various choices like the things you choose that scare you most will affect the layout of his office. Doing violent things/causing deaths early on will display the several-frame portrait of Hell behind him instead of the antlers and fireplace, being afraid of gore can result in a corpse being posed in the office, and trying to claim that Dr Hell isn't real will change the lighting on him, and he'll be generally more aggressive towards you.
No seriously, redditors.
/v/ is turning into le epic reference hub.
It's why you see threads like "boss says x", and "Can we have one of x threads?"
People come here from places like /r/4chan, but they don't understand how to maneuver the website, so they just make a thread and hope some anonymous users will come and riddle them with exciting, interesting, genuine, funny content.
I thought my choices in those things would actually matter... I fell into the hype...
>what are you more afraid of? Clowns or Scarecrows
I picked Clowns, I see that the killer is a clown, which made sense.
>Who do you like the least
>Pick Josh Emily and Mike, Dislike Emily the most
>It seems to affect nothing
Then I find out the only differences are just minor tweaks. Psycho using a syringe vs. a canister, and most of them affect nothing.
I did 2 playthroughs.
One Mike stayed with Josh tied up which I thought something different woudl play out. NOPE. FUCKING NOPE. He just comes back during the cutscene. It was some of the dumbest shit ever.
they did hint at the game being psychological. even if the game has bad parts and even stupid parts, overall it did it's job with different choices and that's what matters.
I don't think any other movie game is as good as this one.
It's not a game. It's an interactive story
I watched this whole thing with my gf and I saw maybe one sequence of gameplay. Light gameplay.
I thought it was very good at doing what it does. we enjoyed watching it. as a movie.
did you think the prompts should have been harder? everything is so easy except for some parts which made you actually have to pay attention then and there and not just go with whatever.
No, there is no reason for anything to be difficult in this, there is no reason for there to be any element of skill. it's a story.
I think stuff like this will get really popular in the future. It's like a better version of TWD that actually had choices/different outcomes
Thought the ending was a bit weak though, and flamethrowbro should've been in the story longer
It's kinda interesting actually once we find out
the patient is Joshto realise he was using his own fears as a means to scare his friends.
Does anyone know what 'Women/Men worry me' affected?
UD has the quickest quicktime events I've seen. Some of those fuckers come out of nowhere, by the time you've recognised the prompt and reacted to press the correct button, you've got a smidgen of the time left.
On each playthrough or retry of a QTE it's the same button, yeah.
There are sections like fucking up as Matt that require you to do several very fast QTEs or face instant death for failing just one though.
The VR game is a railshooter that's literally on rollercoaster rails. Apparently it portrays Josh's descent into madness.
It's likely that Sony asked the devs to make it so that Playstation VR can sell more units, with the incentive of receiving funding for their next proper project.
The most hilarious thing you can do in that section is give Emily some serious shit about talking to Mike earlier, when you're both on the edge of potential death, and then leaping off, leaving her to her fate.
>Chris listens to ashley and shoots her
>She lets him die purposely later on
>Chris finds ashley's hat later He breaks out in tears over her death
Ashley worst girl, Chris best guy
If you re-watch the scene, it's the Hannah-Wendigo using its big fat clawed hand to slice the cables.
The thing banging on the trap door is Hannah, not Josh, and the axe is simply lost, not taken.
played the game with a friend
holy shit that was fun
>loved the fact how mike turned from chadfaggot to action hero with wolf sidekick
;_; the fact that we made the wrong choice at the end and he died because of it made me feel even more holy fuck
>tfw sam said she should have just stayed still like mike told her
>shorts+leggings is one of my fetishes
>nice ass is always a plus
>Ashley has a fucking qt face and personality
