Yeah, it's pretty cool. I just kind of wish we still had a game being created by Kojima and Guillermo Del Fucking Toro... with added work from Junji Ito.
I don't want to be alive anymore. That game is never going to happen...
Oh btw, Silent Hill power-rating
1=3 > 2 > 4
4 is scariest game though.
P.T. has been called a "jump-scare simulator" as well but really, there's only one big jump scare, when Lisa breaks your neck.
If you want to be anal about it, you can include the part where you zoom in on the ajar door and Lisa closes it, but it doesn't have a "scream" to surprise you with, and a good number of Let's players on youtube missed it because they were looking too high/low, looking away from the screen at the exact moment, etc.
Another example is when you confront Lisa roaming in the hallways where she rushes at you, but you can completely avoid this intentionally or unintentionally, it's not thrown in your face.
I'm not, I didn't start the thread.
But if I'm going desu and voice my own opinion - P.T. had some kind of logic to it, some sort of adventure-puzzle in it that made it interesting. imo
What's your favorite monsters /v/?
I've always had a soft spot for the fast ones e.g. dogs, screamers, other flying enemies.
Actually most enemies in 3 are well-thought of when it comes to blocking, suprising and chasing you.
Not this time.
No, you're never gonna get it.
Because Sony doesn't have the brains for it
Is it possible for somebody to license the SH ip from Konami since they're not making games anymore?
Kind of like what Yu Suzuki did with Sega to make Shenmue 3.
Just hand it to Keiichiro Toyama and let him get to work.
Are the UFO endings canon?
We all inevitably die OP. Come to my age, you will have seen plently people and games die, once there - then suddenly never again.
Tell me, your favorite game could be cancelled when you go to sleep, why doesn't that scare you?
That game needs a lot of work.
The writing is way too obvious and on the nose, and the voice actor is god-awful.
"Booze helped keep my hand steady"
Get the fuck out of here with that cliche shit.
Also, I recall one part where the VA actually called someone a "pleb".
A 10/10 doctor, would send my little girl too without doubt desu
Pussy/ass isn't really as magical as you'd think if you've never done it, in terms of taste and all that. It tastes like skin, sweat, maybe a slightly sour taste in the pussy (like greek yogurt), but only for the first minute or so, then it just tastes like your own spit, which is to say, like nothing. It's more about the texture. Which is basically like licking the inside of your cheeks and lips sort of. The best part is their reaction to it, not the act of doing it itself imo.
>Also, I recall one part where the VA actually called someone a "pleb".
>Also, I recall one part where the VA actually called someone a "pleb"
Sony is shit but they seem to at least bring back shit fans ask for.
Should send request for silent hills to that fat fuck adam boyes on twitter.
actually already listening to SH-soundtracks
So, first of all, I'm a big fan of Kojima. He is a truly gifted individual, both as a game designer and overall director. The problem I saw with all this is kind of related to my appreciation of the games. The games' lore and artistical concept (the audiovisual metaphors about the characters and plot) have always seemed very concise to me. Although the characters, monsters and even locations varied, they all followed a kind of spirit and feel. In a subtle way, the universe built upon the shattered hearts of the characters was rich and true to itself (even with my least favorite of them all, Silent Hill Homeciming).
So, even with all the respect I feel for Kojima, I always felt his works are really authoral. By that I mean they seem very... Kojima-esque? I don't know if I can explain my concern well enough, but I personally felt that, despite his potential and obvious capability of keeping true to the roots and perhaps even tie-ins within the various games... well, I feared the game could end up having more of a kojima feel than a Silent Hill.
Now, I only watched PT being played and felt it was a wonderful game, but I don't really know what to feel about Lisa. Perhaps it was my personal expectations upon other type of creatures that clouded my judgement, but deep inside I felt that the game could have been even more SH-esque.
At last, I really want to see a Kojima horror game because PT spooked the fuck out of me. Kojima and Del Toro seem like an amazing duo and I'd be down for whatever they did. I would personally prefer an independent game than a Silent Hill, but I would never be so stupid to the point of saying they wouldn't be a great addition to the franchise, because they would. They would, together, give a breath of life to a series I love, and hopefully put it back onto it's trails, so you can see that I've got double-edged feelings about PT and Silent Hills.
Well, we've never seen Kojima do a 'legit horror game'. So we don't really know if 'Kojima horror game' would have Kojima whoring himself out as much as he does in other games.
And don't forget, Junji Ito would have been a part of the project.
>tfw when no Heather+Henry+Eileen Let's Plays of Silent Hill 1
I got over it, so can you.
Even with Junji's involvement, making it a bigger tragedy, there's no reason to still be moping around.
If Junji Ito really wants to get involved in a game, he should talk to Suda and Mikami to bring back the "Kurayami" project. With all the info those two spilled about it, sounds like it's right up Junji's alley.
WOW! That's fucking awful! I thought he was going to say 'plebian', cause at least that's acceptable in comparison. But honest to god 'PLEB'? Ooooh... I hope this game gets a better writer.
I haven't seen this before. Cool. I loved the toy parade.
i imagine due to the positive feedback from p.t. Kojima would have added first person segments in the game mixed in with traditional third person SH gameplay. Basically like SH4 on steroids.
That 'The Park' game by funcom that takes place in the secret world universe borrows the repeating thing from P.T. at the end.
Though calling it a game might be being generous, as you just walk through a predetermined path through an amusement park and get spooked along the way.
I just watched the whole thing on youtube
That's because that's how any normal human would pronounce it, considering the full word is 'puh-leeb-ee-an'. So it being short for 'puh-leeb' would be the logical suggestion.
NAH! Let's not do that at all!
An elementary school teacher going to Silent Hill to visit family.
Child themed horror stuff for days, and the imagery wouldn't be shit like Homecoming, although Scarlet and the Caterpillar were pretty dope.
Henry isn't nice :( I mean, I walked into a door!
Silent Hill is the physical manifestation of your own subconscious fears and such, right?
Mine would be space, in that case.
I'm not afraid of your typical fears and phobias like spiders, snakes, etc., but one thought I find to be intensely horrifying is to be completely stranded in space. Like, your vessel malfunctions, all communications cease, and you're left all alone with nothing but your thoughts. Complete, total isolation.
It would probably be something like - you get stranded at a bus station. There is a bus and a creepy guy you never see the face of.
Every time you take the bus to leave Silent Hill, it ends up with taking you to Silent Hill again.
Maybe you try other bus stations, but it doesn't matter, they just keep randomly taking you to random locations in Silent Hill.
So you decide to walk, but somewhere the fog appears and you are back where you started.
There would be a voice on the radio, calling out for help. The voice sounds similiar, but you don't know how, it's a bit distorted by the buzzing sounds etc
You take shelter in a building, OtherWorld appears, there is low gravity everywhere in your version of it and it's cold. Somewhere, after hours of searching, in the building, you find a radio channel you can talk through. You do this, you speak your emergency, how you can't get out. Then the monsters find you!
You wake up at the bus station again, the voice on the radio again, calling for help... now you know why it sounded so familiar...
I don't know. But here are some components probably
Disease (cancer, heart attacks)
I like video games a lot
I have like 7 exes or something
Been drinking more lately. Stressed out by university lately.
Guess you have to paint up the image. How the fuck would I know
No, that's an abomination. The original concept is entirely different. Despite that Kurayami being demised by EA themselves so those faggots can force Suda and Mikami to make Shadows of the Damned, I think the idea is still worth exploring.
Intredasting concept, but simply being in a place like a bus stop wouldn't have the same impact - for me anyway.
The concept of total isolation in space is terrifying for me because there's nothing you can do. You're completely cut off from the outside world, no communication, no way to get back home. The only options you have are to slowly go insane from being left alone with your own thoughts, or open the air lock and end your life. If you're on a malfunctioning space vessel with no means of escape, then you are truly and utterly fucked.
It doesn't have to end there though. Brookhaven Hospital has lots of padded cells for you
With what money?
Pretty sure hideous kojimbo doesnt accept monopoly money or empty promises of perhaps maybe getting paid in the future if the jap goverment gives them another loan
There are plenty of other PS4 walking simulators you could be playing instead of crying like a fanboy bitch.
I came here for the Ito dump, where the fuck is it?
>This is /v/ so it has to be video game related.
