he literally didn't do anything wrong
>>
>>315302479
Why did he have to do that uncharacteristic and retarded tweest at the end?

I didn't want to kill him, he was a great character

But muh Broche and Thaler
>>
How he should've dealt with Roche, Thaler and Ves
>Geralt, meet me at my office
>Roche and co are being eliminated right this second. We need a strong Redania to hold the north and a vassal Temeria compromises that
>Join me Geralt, support me in this

>have the choice to either join him, or kill him, fight through all the guards at the bathhouse, and have a timed sequence where geralt tries to figure out where Roche and co are
>get there in time and save them from the assassination

That's how it should've been

Instead Djikstra has like 4 guards with him against Geralt, Roche, Thaler and Ves. Was pretty dumb
>>
I don't even know what he was going to do because I didn't take part in murdering Radovid like a retard.

>all is not perfectly dandy on our side, let's just kill the only guy who can stand against our biggest enemy!
>>
>>315303169
Just kill the Temerian goons and disregard CDPR's attempt at yet another character assassination.

Dijkstra is objectively a better politician, administrator and frankly, a better power player than Roche, who is the Witcher World's "literally who". Dijkstra has an actual plan for Redania (which was the most powerful Northern kingdom before the war anyway), Roche is just blindedly patriotic, as if Temeria ever did anything for him.

Furthermore, I despise Ves and consider her death irrelevant enough. She's spiky and edgy and, let's be frank, butchy as shit. I don't need this and I don't need her, a special snowflake-turned-"commando" who got muh raped™. Yes, I didn't kill Henselt. He's more important politically, also just better written than Ves, he's just an enjoyable and possible character. Also god-tier in the books.

Thaler, oh God. His loss was sought by me actively. Thaler was always a gimmick character, relying solely on vulgarisms and stolen dialogue bits. In TW3 he got a little better, but at the core it's still Thaler. A little shit not worth spitting on.

In the end, the choice between Dijkstra's actually potent Redania and Roche's marionette Temeria was simple. Shame that Roche had to die, but he precisely *had* to die for the cause. He's that much of a simple character with no human emotions and aspirations, just ploughin' lilies and muh vengeance.

Dijkstra has more weight (hurr durr) and more depth to him.

If you had saved Anais with Broche in W2, there should've been an option to bring the two factions together, with Anais on Redania's throne, Djikstra as a chancellor, and Roche as leader of special forces.. She's engaged to Radovid at the end on W2, and having a Temerian rule a Redanian Empire should've calmed Roche's Temerian autism. He was willing to serve Redania before.

>He crosses Geralts all the time in the books, even after Thanedd, I am pretty sure of that.

nah, they never meet again after Thanedd in the books
I'm re-reading them as well and I'm midway through lady of the lake; you get chapters with Dijkstra doing shit like visiting Esterad Thyssen to ask for money, or him hunting Vilgefortz, but his only involvement with Geralt after Thanedd was sending spies after him to report (and nothing else)

but even then I think he lost track of him after Brokilon

then soon after that Dijkstra himself gets targeted for assassination and is forced to flee and go into hiding
>>
>>315311237
Yes Geralt in the books straight up admits that there is no witcher code and he made it up so he as an excuse to turn down contracts that he doesn't want to do and to stay out of political situations.

yeah witcher's are said to be stripped of all emotion to make it easier to do their job (no love, no fear, no hate)
and some witcher's believe it (geralt does too for a while in stories like "A shard of ice")

but it's a load of shit, most likely from "monstrum: a portrayal of witchers"

Yes him, Isengrim Faoiltiarna, and a man who escaped Stygga made a pact and went to Zerrikania to start a new life.

I'm fairly annoyed that for all the little details CDPR gets from the books they didn't even bother with the big ones like the White Frost or Eredin and Avallac'h. After playing through HoS and their side quests I'm convinced CDPR should stick with the stories without all the epic fantasy end of the world schtick and instead craft personal stories similar to the short story books. The series has always functioned a lot better as a postmodern take on fairy tales than try to be the next big thing in fantasy.

Well W3 got the white frost and wild hunt out of the way, we won't have to deal with them again. A Witcher 4 with a bunch of short story arcs (like the hearts of stone story or the blood baron story) would be really cool. The biggest problem really is the playable character. I think Create-A-Character would ruin, but Ciri seems viable if they integrate the elder blood stuff well into the gameplay instead of having dashspam.

From my anecdotes it seems the more popular opinion is that the short stories are better written, paced and memorable than the novel saga. Sapkowski and CDPR to an extent aren't bad writers, it's just that their skills and the universe they write in aren't very good for a grand fantasy story.

>>315315034
Theyll have to tone down her powers somehow if she is going to be the protagonist in a 4th game. Defeating the White Frost could've diminished her powers and they could write her Elder Powers into working similarly to Witcher senses somehow.

I dont see how her not undergoing the Trial of Grasses writes her out as a potential protagonist like everyone else does. They teased it very well with that corpse examining and even just letting you play as her that Id be surprised if she isnt the protagonist in TW4.

Ill be pissed if she doesnt get a cool easter egg quest line in CP2077 though. They built it up way too much with that first dialogue in the Isle of Mists and she was there for 6 months apparently.
