What I do is look up games something like best RTS games for 2006 or something like that just best games of a genre for a year.

See one game I might find appealing. Look into it and get interested download it and play it for maybe 5-10 minutes or never play it all and go back to searching for a new game.

The hunt is more rewarding then the catch for me
