Hello /v/,
I just finished testing Steam Link and i am disapointed. Performance is bad. Tested it with The Witcher 3, Grid 2 and MGR Revengeance. In all three the image seems of poor quality as if poorly compressed. In the case of TW3, i can barely run it at 30 fps maxed out whereas it runs at 60-90 on my PC.
Does anyone have this device and has better performance?
Okay, so, what's even the point of this shit?
Why would I ever use this, when I can just hook up my PC to the TV directly?

if you have the tv in another room and too lazy to move everything

Doesn't sound gr8 m8. Input lag would be my worry too.

Actually the input lag is minimal and very easy to get used to.

So when i let kids play my steam games i don't worry about them destroying my PC.
>streaming video games in any capacity
You asked for it.

Yeah, well, my question is still the same. Is this just my setup that sucks or Steam Link sucks in any case?

>Notice: Wired network is strongly recommended.
Are you by any chance not using good old cables?

This
It's along the same lines as crying about 2015 games being unoptimized because they won't run on your 8800 GTX anymore.

Turn on client-side hardware encoding.

I dunno now, I bought a Sony Z3 tablet last year and stream games from my PS4 downstairs to my tablet as I lay in bed, and it works flawlessly.
Makes everything so much simpler. Can play GTA Online with friends and still chat to them.

It's probably your router. If streaming is not what you expected, get a better/more powerful wireless router.
