Arx libertatis if you're talking about arx fatalis. As for gothic I don't think anything is required for the first gothic, I know I played it vanilla and enjoyed it besides a couple of bugs.

People give the Two World games too much shit. They aren't THAT bad. That said, the first one is better than the second one. It actually had character. The second one just tried too hard to be like an AAA RPG.

I personally really enjoyed the first Two Worlds. Never really played the second one though.
