There are only a few games these days that can keep me hooked for more than a couple of hours. I pirate them to see if they're worth my money or if they will hook me up enough to justify their price.

If I look at a game and I'm not sure if I'll like it, I probably wouldn't buy it anyway unless I could test it somehow.

Video games are multi-media art projects. I don't pirate because the artists and creative minds in the industry who actually turn out good work deserve to be paid for that work, as any artist worth his salt in any industry deserves to be. I don't even buy the idea of "respectable piracy", IE pirating only bad companies or games, since the best message to send to companies that make shitty games or have shitty practices is to avoid their products entirely no matter what.

I pirate when it's convenient. Like, if it's easier for me to buy a game, I will. If it's easier to pirate I will. 26, I have more games that what I can realistically play, and Pc gaming is ultra cheap. Consoles only get a couple of blockbuster titles at the end of each year anyhow.

Not to mention games follow certain formulas these days, using the old excuse of download before buying does not apply when all games are practically the same. The only titles that do change drastically are online games anyhow.

I pirate most of my games. There has to be an extra layer of convenience or support to convince me to actually buy a game.

My reason is simple: I don't give a fuck about how much it hurts other people for me to pirate games.
Mostly doesn't hurt anyone since I wouldn't actually buy 95% of the games I pirate.

I'm not going to sit around and pretend there's any kind of deeper moral or ethical reason for it.

Although one semi-legitimate reason is that my computer is getting old and I don't feel like buying upgrades. I don't want to risk buying games that aren't going to run decently.

I've only felt bad about pirating one game, and that was super mario galaxy 2. It was a lot of fun and I wish I had a permanent disc copy for my collection, but I couldn't justify paying for a game I already beat.

But I got it on the Wii U now, which works I guess.
