Do a game about First Contact, when the first ship went through a Mass Relay. Perfect way to get new gamers into the series while older fans could easily benefit from their knowledge of the lore. You could be a human ambassador of the Alliance, maybe twenty years after the war with the turians? Everyone should outwardly hate aliens, which would make the ship dynamic of forming a team of rivals much more interesting. I'd like to have a team full of people who don't like you initially.

As for what they could be fighting, that's up in the air.

Make a prequel series with the first contact wars between humans and Turians and the Rachni war with heavy emphasis on Krogan's and the start of the genophage.

While I completely agree the one single time they tried to do something smaller scale was Dragon Age 2 and that game flopped horribly. And while there were numerous reasons for that flop I think one of the lessons they took away from that was that small scale story does not do it. because as soon as CISquisition started to get promo they emphasized again again how epic and significant and large scale the stories gonna be, which makes me think that a lot of players probably didn't feel too engaged by DA2 smaller story. I think most guys just want to rescure the world and the universe in super awesome fashion again and again and again

I want it to be like ME1 again. Focus on Exploration with a detailed and well thought out codex entry for damn near every bit of it. Mechanics that actually feel futuristic. Being able to customize weapons and ammo again. Unlimited ammo again. Strip out the romance entirely. It didn't add anything in 1 and it only got worse from there. - Go back to the ME1 weapon cooling system. yeah, I know, that would require coming up with a brand new combat system instead of copying Gears of War. Who knew developing games would take effort?
- Fire the head writers and stop giving them absolute creative control. ME3's ending was entirely because Casey Hudson and Mac Walters had a blank check to do what they wanted with no peer review. The small no-name writers are the only ones with talent in Bioware.
-Bring back vehicles and exploration. Yeah, that would require actual effort and refinement instead of just copying Gears again. Who fucking knew?

With full knowledge of the Citadel's functions and true purpose, Council scientists discover that the Milky Way actually contains several redundant Mass Relay networks. We know that the known systems and explored space in ME1-3 is still less than 5% of the Galaxy. Turns out the Reapers had established redundant Citadels and relay networks in order to best fulfill their function. If Reaper advance units like Sovereign detected Synthetic development in any of the Relay networks, the Reapers would come in to flush them out.

These networks were never meant to be linked to each other, so that each one is small enough to be easily handled by the Reaper fleet. However, since the Citadels are the Reapers' primary source of entering the networks, it is discovered that it could be possible to link the Citadel relay to another Citadel and to establish contact with another Relay network and potentially new civilizations established there.

ME4 is a political thriller/subterfuge action game where your MC and crew are making decisions that maintain or sway the balance of the Council's ultimate decision on whether or not to establish a citadel link.

Several factions are on each side of the decision. Pro-contact factions want to establish the link for scientific and exploratory reasons, but some people also believe that other civilizations could still be struggling with Reapers or in need of assistance in the post-Reaper fallout, and that it's our moral obligation to send assistance if we are able.

Anti-contact factions cite examples like the Rachni and Yahg to insist that it's too dangerous to open a link without knowing the potential dangers on the other side. Others are worried about stretching Council resources too thin with such a huge potential expansion.

Your actions involve dealing politically behind the scenes between different embassies, possibly assassinating and replacing Council members or protecting them from assassination, exploring and gathering resources for your chosen factions, and generally helping to restore your part of the galaxy post-Shepard/Reapers.

It's inevitable they'll make a human MC and I assume they'll probably make them N7 again for branding, but they shouldn't be a SPECTRE, at least not for the first game. Maybe not even until a third. Your resources are more limited than Shepard's, you can't save everybody, time and resource management will affect your game outcome. Your character should also feel more like the field leader on a crew of equals, and less like the unquestionable alpha commander on a crew of misfit nerds.

Forget MMO, it should be an arena shooter. That was the best part of 3. Make the movement a bit quicker, throw in some manual dodges. Shit would be fantastic.
