Can we get a star wars thread? They're usually pretty fun
Did I ever tell you about the time I chopped your dad's limbs off and then left him to burn to death before letting his wife, and your mother, die? He was a good friend.
>that guy who thinks that Kreia actually wanted to destroy the Force and didn't just lie about it to get you to go to Malachor IV to confront your destiny
OFFICIAL MY FAVORITE STAR WARS GAMES POWER RANKING
1. KOTOR 2
3. Jedi Outcast
4. Jedi Academy
5. Rogue Squadron
6. The Phantom Menace
8. Revenge of The Sith
9. Force Unleashed
Why didn't this guy believe in the force when he's clearly old enough to have lived when the jedi were around.
This game was the shit.
We need another Star Wars beat em up
Because Star Wars made it seem like the Jedi were wiped out decades and decades before. Instead Lucas wrote himself into a corner by putting it 19 years earlier. Full fucking retard.
lorefags believe it's because jedi on the whole were a rare sighting in the galaxy and that people didn't really see them often. Sheev manipulated the media to get rid of their existence but it's flawed. Further proof Lucas was making it up as he went
Either he's an age-accerlated clone, or the Jedi didn't get around that much and were still mostly unknown about despite all their operations.
Or the much more likely fact that George Lucas is a complete hack.
>Don't try to frighten us with your sorcerer's ways, Lord Vader. Your sad devotion to that ancient Jedi religion has not helped you conjure up the stolen data tapes, or given you enough clairvoyance to find the rebels' hidden fortress
He didn't say he didn't believe that the Force existed. He just doubted the extent of its abilities.
Originally was supposed to be a much larger span of time. Look at how old Obi-Wan and ghost-Vader were. It was obviously supposed to be closer to 40 years.
Luke and Leia are 30+
DING DONG THREAD OVER YOU ALL FAILED TO TALK ABOUT THE
almostONE AND ONLY GOOD STAR WARS GAME
You are and idort.
What the fuck do you think these things were.

>Battlefront is kill
She literally states she hates the Force and the fact it seems to have a will. She also states that in the Exile she saw the death of the Force, and, like the Exile, she wanted everyone to turn from the Force and live.
>could've had a proper kotor 3 game with a possibility of multiplayer added
>instead get World of Warcraft reskinned with Star Wars
I can't believe that game costed over a quarter billion to make.
What's more worrying is that they did this as well
wtf, when did they finally name Palpatine? It didn't seem like too long ago I was reading a wiki page trying to find his first name without success.
That reminds me though. It still amazes me to this day that Ian McDiarmid was the only man who's face we see in both trilogies. He was a bretty good guy for the job, despite some cheesy lines in the prequels.
Luke, did I ever tell you about Dexter Jettster?
>He doesn't know about based Sheev
Reminder that because of how the new canon works, Delta Squad's existence is canon but the events of Republic Commando aren't until they get referenced in a future story), meaning Sev is okay for the time being.
Fucking perfect. Sums my feelings up exactly.
Everytime I read this I get angry knowing that such a fantastic series has been shat and pissed on forever and nothing good will come from it again.
only bit it gets wrong is saying Vrook is indistinguishable from a sith,
He's a colossal cunt, but he clearly cares deeply for what he's supposed to protect - even if he's too deluded to see how best to do it.
>Republic Commando sequel set 3 days after Order 66.
>You control a squad of prototype dark troopers who are raiding the LiMerge Power Building.
>Your target is a rogue Jedi who survived Order 66 (pic related).
>Go in on ground level, low profile, wearing concealing cloaks with Imperial insignias covered up.
>Wade through a knee-high sea of bisected battle droid parts where Maul used to train.
>Navigate entire floors completely destabilized and overrun by duracreet slugs, ascend with jetpacks.
>Get spotted by a Dark Eye probe droid. Shit hits the fan, all the lowlifes squatting in LiMerge descend upon you.
>Rogue Jedi starts mocking you over the loudspeaker system, explaining the can of worms you’ve just opened.
>The Empire tries to send in an LAAT/i full of stormtroopers to back you up. LiMerge inhabitants shoot down the dropship and publicly display the corpses of the backup team to fuck with you.
>The rogue Jedi sends reprogramed IG-100 MagnaGuards to hunt you in the concrete jungle.
>Corner the Rogue Jedi in a hanger bay at the top of the building. He kills one of your squadmates and attacks the rest of you (boss fight).
>Finally hurt him enough, he gets into an Infiltrator and takes off. Half-dead, you crawl to one of the nearby anti-air gun batteries and shoot him down as he tries to escape.
> LAAT/i touches down next to you in the hangar as you black out.
>You wake up in a med bay to an imperial cyberneticist stitching you up and explaining how this whole mission was a test by the empire to see if Dark Troopers are worth the investment to manufacture on a large scale. You passed.
Make it happen Disney.
>You're in the cantina when this guy slaps your Twi'lek gf's ass
>keep in mind he is over 2 meters tall and made of frik
What do you do?
Mira doesn't really have anything going for her besides the fact that she can be made a jedi, but there're so many potential jedi its kind of irrelevant
Hanharr meanwhile has some of the highest base Hp in the game and his Wookie Rage turns him into a maelstrom of furry melee death.
No jedi wookie though.
What is wrong with them? Why do they continue fucking shit up.
I praise the Emperor and he leaves me alone
That's a Space Marine right
Not necessarily. The whole point of Malachor was that it was event powerful enough to wound the Force itself, as seen in the Exile and Nihlus, and what can be wounded can be killed.
Which is interesting because losing the ability to feel the Force is like losing all your senses, and it's described as pretty much like dying. How was the Exile able to ignore it and still live?
HE was the best fucking actor in the prequels.
As much as Samuel L Jackson tried, he couldn't be the bad ass he wanted to because "muh jedi code".
Even though mace was literally the "bad ass" jedi.
Wish lucas wasnt so fucking stupid with the prequals, there was WAY way better stories to tell then shit like anakins love life.
They should have merged The first and second film together for a bases or something, then used the second film slot to focus entirely on the clone wars.
I would have liked to see more Kit-fisto and general grievous.
Tractor beam targeting array
Well according to Rogue Squadron logic you're wrong so fuck you.
A superweapon that amplified the natural gravity well of Malachor IV and dragged all the ships caught in it towards the planet's surface where they got crushed. Basically caused the planet to look like this.
And the Exile was responsible for using it.
For all the times the game mentions it, it doesn't drive home how ridiculous the battle must have been until you see the place itself.
>using that gadget that made him glow and damage enemies just by touching them
So good, you could beat a boss in seconds by popping one of those, standing in their face and holding block. Also did anyone find it next to impossible to beat Darth Maul solo as Plo Koon?
Look closer at your image. The "Tractor Beam Targeting Array" line isn't pointing to those things, it's pointing to the big thing in the middle of the large Pylon at the back of the ship.
Thanks for reminding me of the greatest non movie lightsaber fight
>darth maul begging for mercy
as awesome as that scene was it felt out of place.
All EU is non canon now so it's easy. There's a list on starwars.com but if you want to read the good, now non canon, stuff jump into the thrawn triology. Darth Bane is also a good read along with Darth Plageius.
In pretty much every other instance, those people had the Force taken from them in some manner. The Exile somehow turned away and deafened themselves to the Force. Otherwise, all of the broken Force bonds from the deaths at Malachor might have killed the Exile.
>out of place
If you know of Maul's past, it's perfectly in character. Sidious has tortured Maul before as part of his training.
>Well according to Rogue Squadron logic you're wrong so fuck you
>b-but from my point of view the Jedi are evil!
Next thing you're actually gonna defend the Kessel run bullshit.
>Listening to the opinions of /co/
> not knowing that the closer you fly to a black hole, the shorter and faster your Kessel run is. You need a fast ship to fly it so close you can go under 12 Parsecs with enough speed left to escape it.
>If you like comics the KOTOR ones are good
Also, the old Tales of the Jedi comics from before the prequels are tight. I have the full collection... I think there were 6? series?
It was an awesome story, and set the basis for KotOR; and was the original explanation for the "sith" culture.
the EU is fucking dreck that is 95% Jedi / Force wank or forcibly inserting the OT characters into every fucking story and generally everything devolves into DBZ tier power levels with ships that can surpass the Death Star's destructive power 10000 times over and Sheev resurrects himself through clone bodies and Luke turns evil and also has a clone named Luuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuke. The only time the EU was good with maybe any consistency was the 90's when you had stuff like Shadows of the Empire, Rogue Squadron books, and stuff like Tales from the Mos Eisely cantina, Tales from Jabba's Palace, Tales from the Empire, the KOTOR comics etc.
Ironically the EU doesn't expand the SW galaxy, only makes it smaller and more constrictive.
>make ultra-detailed drawing of a star destroyer
>don't indicate the location of the shield generator
They guy who drew this image. I demand to know what he was huffing during that time.
Am I the only one who actually sort of liked the idea of the Vong storyline?
It may have been pulled off a tad bit poorly, but to me it was a fresh idea that had the potential to breath life into the EU. I don't know. Maybe if Chewy didn't have to die in the process.
>sentients from another galaxy who could transform living matter to their own will and reshape worlds
There was so much potential for this part of the lore
Don't forget that they were deceived and betrayed by a pureblood sith named Scourge, and that's how the Exile dies.
The same Scourge is a party member for the jedi knight in swtor.
That's not canon. All that's canon is The Clone Wars, Rebels, the NEW novels / comics and obviously the movies. TOR is most likely not canon at all anymore.
That's not to say the new stuff is any better than the old.
I stopped paying attention after the New Jedi Order series.
It was starting to read like one of those stories you write a paragraph for and then hand it over to someone else to continue it and there is always some douche who royally fucks up the whole story arc.
I can't get around this
I just can't
I still find it incredibly pathetic that Obi-Wan and Satine had more and better chemistry in their first ten minutes of shared screen time than Anakin and Padme had in two and a half goddamn movies.
So if I understand correctly, the EU is currently that (most) characters and places that were previously canon are still canon, but the events of the book/game/comic etc. they come from aren't canon unless referenced?
I thought because it was made by EA and because EA is the only publisher that can officially release SW games, and also the fact that TOR was probably the only big SW games in years, made it canon
>tfw battlefront 3 will likely be fucking awful
Being a star wars fan is suffering
EU now is movies, clone wars, rebels and the tie in books for both series. The rest is officialy non canon but they said they could be brought back into being canon
Everything outside the movies and the Clone Wars is non-canon unless otherwise mentioned. For example, Delta Squad from Republic Commando are canon because they have a cameo in The Clone Wars.
most people will say that the EU is 100% scrapped, but I believe Disney's wording was that the original works were things that "could" have happened, which gives them breathing room to retcon anything they want.
I would be beyond surprised if they didn't use assets from the EU in the new canon.
I would love a game set in the backdrop of the republic after 66
>clones are killing all the Jedi generals causing mass panic in the auxiliary troops
>loyal indigenous troops on occupied worlds attempting to protect the generals
>sev appears on the horizon riding a horde of dead geonosians
>you play as a orphaned cripple child who once saw Kenobi force push a planet while shitting so you idealize the Jedi
>by level 4 you are canon
SWTOR happened so long ago within the series's timeline it's meaningless.
Disney convened and made some decisions deciding what is and isn't canon. You might be able to find some of their decisions. Books have been released that mention Malgus, Nihilus and Revan, but only that they existed. As to what they canonically accomplished at this point is anyone's guess.
why didn't they just get a fucking team together for a few weeks and decide what they want to be canon or not.
Not like it would have been that hard. There are about 15~ novels and some games that had great stories and would fit nicely into the new lore.
Instead we have The Clone Wars.
I think that's kinda of the point. On /co/ someone psychologically deduced that their relationship was doomed because it was built on secrets and lack of trust. I've personally seen relationships like Padme and Anakin. They tend to get very violent and bitter.
You're in luck, Anon. Disney wiped away EU and there is now only one true canon. Someone posted a list but you got a short list to go.
Just don't go to Wookpiedia. They're in turbo denial mode. They delete canon articles and wiki's for fun and despise Disney.
>One of the guy's is wearing an Austin T-Shirt
Just goes to show that city is the cancer of our great state.
tfw this is no longer canon.
all of you are fucking faggots!
this was the greatest star wars game ever made until it was stolen from us for the nge and later on that pile of shit tortanic
this is why i want to see bioware and the fucking tortanic burn. swg was the single greatest game made
Tortanic has a great RP community. Why deal with a shit game's story when you make your own.
it just shows how fucking ridiculous sith become.
They get so self absorbed, so intoxicated with their own power they only see beyond reality.
The point of that is to display how arrogant and self consumed the dark side makes you.
Plagueis literally lets sidious kill him because he thinks he can bring himself back to life.
Its a great example of why the dark side is obviously the wrong side.
I finished the hologrind. I finished the knight trials. Then they took the game away from me.
>purchase battlefront 3
>after buying the online portion for $35 I launch the game
>servers down for everyone without premium
>pay $90 for the star wars premium pass™
>find one working server owned by 3 Brazilian coke mules
>wait in queue for 3 hours
>get in full game 12vs12 capture the tarkin
>have fun until my ammo refill time expires and I have to buy the $11.99 reload pack
>kicked for speedhack
The new EU sure seems promising doesn't it?
open world star wars game, player made economy.
Make your own life the way u see fit, have your own home and shops.
Being force sensitive was like a really big deal in that game, it was mega rare.
Where in the galaxy would you like to go in a game?
>Never got on the bandwagon when it was officially around
>Try out the emu
>Have literally no idea what to do from there, nowhere I go has any of the materials I need to harvest
Is there, like, a starter guide somewhere?
I used to have the strategy guide years ago, which is bizarre to me since I never had the game itself. But that's long gone.
World of Warcraft.
it decided to try and compete, and did a New Gaming Experience update.
trimmed the 30-something profession system (which you could mix as you desire) into 9 "iconic" classes. one of them is a Jedi avaliable to everybody.
A game where 50 people would sit in a cantina at a time, the one Jedi player on the entire planet would be sitting there chatting with some other players, while a Bounty Hunter would sneak up on him and try to kill him.
That was Galaxies c.2003.
They saw how Obsidian did a better job at writing and decided they were having none of that.
Plus they had already shifted to SJW shit allowing the Hamburger Helper writing Anders in DA2 while simultaneously changing the dark spawn and elves into hideous faggots rivaled only by Bioware's own staff.
>Got all the way to Jerec before having to switch computers
>Never went back
>Republic Commando sequel
>You play as 38 in the early days of the empire, leading a team of dark troopers
>Raiding a rebellion "oil rig" at night, in the rain
>Vibroknife kills, hiding from flashlights, etc
>Eventually your squad splits up
>Your squad gets killed one by one, nobody ever sees the guy
>Finally you're the only one left
>Suddenly someone drops on you from above
>You can only see their helmet
>"YOU LEFT ME TO DIE"
I would like a game entirely on a ship, Imperial, Rebel, whatever, where you're a mechanic or engineer, you don't personally participate in any battles but you're on in ultra-high detailed environment you can interact with on multiple levels and how you choose to touch up the ship can effect the outcome of space battles or other obstacles in space. Think basically Alien Isolation levels of detail only you're not in constant danger. I just love going into the nitty gritty of SW ships even though they're obviously fantastical and don't attempt to make much sense.
Well, if I recall, you level up survey from resource gathering, as in, you actually collect resources from the site you've sniffed out. Even if they aren't the materials you need, if you find any at a decent enough concentration you should just go for it for the XP. Also, resources do get better the further out of town you go, but I'm talking like thousands and thousands of clicks or km or whatever out of town. A speeder helps with that.
If cash is a problem try shout-scumming for enough to get you a ticket off that rock. Unless you're on some private server where you're the only one on it.
Also forgot to mention that other players can train you in the skill boxes that you have enough XP for, provided they also have that box trained as well. If you can't find any players, there are NPC trainers that charge for training. In your case, it should say something like (Artisan Trainer) in its name.
HD Remake with VR support when?
Please post if you have it.
In exchange, I offer this, the result of Googling "Palpatine Costanza."
God damn, humanities, I try to love you, and then you pull shit like this.
SWG was some really fun shit but could be silly at times when you'd run across Empire players that would have their personal AT-ST among a couple storm troopers. Still miss being a TKM that could destroy just about everyone else once in melee range.
No it wouldn't. Galaxies is so fucking niche and TOR is so fucking generic TOR would beat it by a mile. I mean I think SWGEmu is the superior game, but it just doesn't appeal to the mass market anymore.
>You will never be a space trucker in Star Wars.
>you will never pick up alien STDs from Twi'lek girls at intergalactic truck stops
>You will never fast talk your way past hours worth of customs paperwork to get a delivery in on time.
can someone explain to me what happened with Republic commando and Sev? did he die that day in Kashyeek? did the same squad go through with Order 66? Did they like or hate it? I've read up on it a bit but I'm still confused, I've watched all the clone wars series and best republic commando years ago
