Did I miss the Xenoblade Chronicles X thread? We got new info on combat and party members.
Seriously, learn to use the converter, it'll help you with other videos. I remember when this place at least had rudimentary photoshop and insane paint skills.
is hyrule warriors even any
never played a dynasty warriors game. I installed dw 8 on pc but the menu and the standard button-layout made me so butthurt that I uninstalled it right away. I don't think nintendo would put out such a catastrophy. need advice
I need to physically love Elma.
I own both
well okay I pirated Dynasty Warriors for PC
You are indeed right on both counts. Hyrule Warriors has Nintendo polish. It also has a retarded amount of content, even as far as Dynasty games go.
Dynasty Warriors 8 for PC is really poorly handled as a port. It's a good game but Japs have a hard time with PC still I think.
This is first time in a long time where I can say this is God Damn Day One Buy
Can you still say that while knowing what flaws the game has?
All games have flaws. Some stand out more than others.
La Mulana 2, MGSV, and this are the only high quality games coming out. Maybe KH3, depends on how they do the battle system.
But you know XBX has flaws, and you'll still buy it despite the flaws because it looks fun?
>It also has a retarded amount of content, even as far as Dynasty games go.
Play One Piece Pirate Warriors. I think that's the series that made Bamco expand into other franchises. Retarded amount of content and the first of its kind to introduce different kinds of fighting styles.
>you will never be skinned alive or scalped by an alien babe and grab her titties from beyond the grave as the rest of your flappy corpse remains slaps against her body when she moves quickly
What do you think the new people's stationary animations are going to be?
Elma is going to do Sharla's stretching animation
>Game has the ideal future armor and gun slide
PS4 has a good lineup coming out. Bloodborne, Witcher, Persona 5, FF 15. I might be missing a few but unless you enjoy Nintendo games you're better off with the PS4.
Though for XCX you have to buy a Wii U. This monster's 300 hours.
Probably not, or they just hint at it, or maybe there are choices. We just don't know because they claim the MC is not some fellow that just does a bunch of favors for people and that it is a story focus game.
When I saw that screen of her, I knew we'd be getting lewd alien babes. Then the ayy lmao lady and her huge backstory shows up piloting a G Gundam mech.
Wii U currently has a good line up so far. But the PS4 has some hopefully good stuff that's coming later on.
It's funny, I can name all the good games on the Wii U, but every time I try to come up with something for the other 2 consoles, all I can think of is Battlefield, COD, Sports games, and Destiny.
I hope we see a variety of more alien enemies or friendlies in the game. I really want a good look at the cat aliens and the ayy lmao lady and her clan of backstory.
I looked at the Sony website and really, it's just mutiplats, indies, weeb games I can't really get into, and exclusives that aren't actually all that good.
Luu is definitely cool, but there are a lot of human members unsurprisingly. And since there are no subs for the combat overview yet, I don't know if they implied there would be more members.
The game's size has been shown to be ~23.4 GB.
This is kind of what decided it for me. I really want Witcher and FF15, but I feel like I can wait for those. Having an absurdly long game to tide me over certainly helps, especially since by the time I finish it P5 will be out and I'll have it on my ps3
Is there any further explanation of the "Arms Company: Level up!" mechanic? Because it looks like there will be different weapons and armors merchants that are somehow associated to you in some kind of business relationship.
I think they said that when you wear a company's armor, you act as their sponsor, and in exchange they make more and better armor of that kind for you over time. Or maybe as you find Life Points or something.
I see. I hope there's some kind of quest chain that's pic related.
This is what Xenoblade Chronicles looked like in 2007.
And then this is what we got in 2011.
I love how it goes from clay model concept to actual game design.
I have the concept art for Fiora/Fiorung with twintails but not the one with Dunban and the spider. Was it in the book?
So far Van Damme is reminding me of Dickson.
Dickson is my favourite character in any JRPG hands down.
Xenoblade X hypers in a nutshell
>wow this game looks amazing
>wait what there's previous Xeno games
Somebody hasn't played the first game.
Van Damme better just be Dickson without all the "shooting his baby" and betrayal.
Man I hate that outfit.
>spend HOURS dicking around in Colony 9
>oh dang check out this cute outfit for my cute dual wielding murder blender
>she dies in it
Australia is going to get the bundle, right?
>tfw you think the full body armor is sexier than the speed slut getup
I see no problem here.
I hope it's feasible to have everybody in their swimsuits most of the time in X. Kind of like how in the Xenosagas the swimsuits were an accessory rather than armor you had to have in every slot.
2011 or something
what do you think shulk is from?
No one but Grorious Nihon is gonna get it.
>Posts in a Xenoblade Chronicles X thread
>Never heard of Xenoblade
Japan had it out 2011.
Here's the iso. Reminder it's dual audio.
>series of budget cuts
>buttfuck of features added in
if you say so
Not that guy but thanks for the link, i just lost my EU save but found a NA one near where i was so i think i will just emulate the rest of the game since i was playing it legit before.
So in the trailers we've seen new playable characters that weren't shown before and didn't look too important. I think it's possible this game will have a very high number of playable characters (like Chrono Cross high). Since the game uses a character creation system and a class system, they can just use that to make tons of playable characters which all use the same animations, which I believe is why we've seen playable characters from different factions that looked like generic NPCs before. Otherwise, from a story perspective, I don't see the point of having like 10 military human character from NLA. I don't see how they can all add to the story in any meaningful way.
They can share voices for unimportant characters
>>286003983 gets what I mean. Obviously there are some important characters like Elma and Lyn. Isn't it weird on in the last trailer we see a gun loli and monk lady that was just a faction NPC before, and they're just shown using combat mechanics without any presentation, while Irina and Space Dunban have this big introduction at the end?
Well, there are union exclusive party members, not NPCs. That's something this game seems to be sharing with Radiata, except in that game you had to recruit people right from the start in order to get access to dueling and recruiting the older, elite guild members.
that part was talking about how questgivers sometimes join you or something like that
or you have a big storage of character to create all of them
in which case I'll go nuts with my rainbow squad
>kick out story characters
>get comfy with irrelevant bros as generic PC for most of the game
It would be like if you could party as Billy, Rico, and Maria in Xenogears or something.
Best part of all that armor variety will be mix-and-matching everything
>Schoolgirl top with heavy armor arms and legs
>Bikini bottom with mecha-musume top
>Alien bioflesh thing with anything else
After their character arcs end, yes, they might as well be NPCs.
There's only one Xenogears game
If you meant all the Xeno games, then it goes as this:
Xenosaga 1, 2, 3 (PS2)
They are all unrelated except for the Xenosaga games, and there is no collection or anything like that
PSN has Xenogears. Not sure about Xenosaga trilogy.
The Xeno games are not directly related. It's a mishmash of spiritual sequels and prequels. With the exception of Xenoblade, as it has no relation to the other games whatsoever aside from the existential themes.
Xenogears is the best.
The only downside is second disc is pretty much "We ran out of money so here's a bunch of cutscenes and boss fights".
Story, characters, gameplay, etc is on point though. Xenoblade is the next best thing.
>princely Cross girl
>Guin, Luu, or Doug
I like all of them though so I'll probably switch it up a lot.
>pervert boy with sword
Guin's a pervert?
>720p @ 30fps (in 2015)
>Offline MMO (Dragon Age gets shit but this gets a pass)
>Those character animations
Is there a more shilled game on /v/?
Wii U has a good lineup now. Buy it if you don't want to wait another 15 years for PS4's games to come out, and then another 15 years for the day 1 patches on each of them to finish.
Do you have the intelligence of an amnesiac regal blue tang, taking bait?
We don't have enough information for FFXV. I want to see an entirely gameplay focused trailer that is more in depth than what we've seen so far. The last stream showcasing the demo isn't enough.
>Shulk in smash.
>a lot more info than FFXV (which is ironic since XV was announced way back in 2006).
>Robutt and Elmass.
>shitposting and bait (which always get a lot of replies).
did I miss anything?
Nintendo was the first company to fully fund any Xeno- game.
Probably a big reason why Xenoblade Chronicles X is being released as a single game, and taking years to come out, rather than being already up to its 3rd installment of 40-minute cutscene collections.
I loved how so many thought that the reason that Disc 2 for Xenogears turned out like it did was because Square took the funds for it for another FF. When in actuality, it always had a tiny budget and Square refused his request for more.
Gotta love it.
I think it has more to do with Monolith Soft's design philosophy meeting Nintendo halfway.
Nintendo designs games by working on the gameplay system first. They do this by building prototypes. Everything else comes later.
Monolith Soft designs games by starting with a broad image like this >>285998089 and then figuring out how to build a game on it.
Nintendo told them to make the Bionis Shoulder prototype so they get a sense of what kind of programming challenges they're getting into instead of building from the image only, and it turns out it was easier to do it Nintendo's way.
this. Takahashi's biggest flaw in making games is proper usage of time and a budget.
I think edgy Xenogear fanboys would just rather blame big business than their director they want to suck off.
Don't expect it. Maybe in the next game, if it's entirely based in space, we get a time dilation mechanic. Although Xenoblade Chronicles did have that whole glimpsing into the future built into the combat.
Maybe because people who like video games care to discuss Xenoblade X while people who are going to consume FFXV care about little more than how many sales numbers SquareEnix is going to report?
But Takahashi already made the premise and the shonen tier plot down like back in 2004 - 2005 before the game would come into production.
This is why I laugh at the idea of Project Noah coming back to life. The man doesn't seem too interested in treading old grounds and realizes that he can make somewhat deep stories that cater to everyone while having a small budget and making what counts, counts.
That's why Nintendo allowed him another year for Xenoblade; as said himself, grew up.
Here you go.
>Yes, that's right. Before Yamagami-san said he wanted us to just make the first chapter, I had wanted to work in the usual manner, doing thing slowly but surely. I didn't want to force the staff to work in a manner to which they weren't accustomed. That's why I initially replied that it was going to be tough just making that first chapter. But Yamagami-san pressed the point, so I decided that we had no choice but to give it a go.
>And when you gave it a go, how did it work out?
>Well, it rather pains me to say this, but it turned out to be a much easier way to do things!
I don't know about premise but he did write up a more simpler plot line which would eventually become a more shone oriented story line since he said he wanted a more wider demographic and not cater to himself again.
>Takahashi's biggest flaw in making games is proper usage of time and a budget.
Not just budget and scheduling, but direction. You get a sense that as a storyteller he never got the gist that a story has a beginning, a middle, and an end. What comes after the end is up to the imagination since the world and the lore the story takes from is what carries on forever.
He's a Tim Schafer who grew up.
>you will never offer a white haired shota 3000G for one night
At least I think Billy was a shota at the time of this happening.
This, but he already had in mind a more boy/shonen tier story long beforehand. Something about not getting the younger generation into gaming/dame design. Without recruiting younger people, the industry would eventually collapse.
I dunno. Naturally white-haired humans were a thing in Xenogears, and High Entia had white hair in Xenoblade. IIRC all of Xenosaga's weird hair people were artificial in some way.
Stress messing with hormones.
White haired characters are the best.
Lloyd from Legend of Dragoon was cool.
>But Takahashi already made the premise and the shonen tier plot down like back in 2004 - 2005 before the game would come into production.
oh shit nigger you are hella wrong there.
the inspiration for a more shonen story came from baten kaitos. when he saw that game be successful, he got out of his depression and thought up xenoblade.
WE CHOOSE TO FIGHT
>We just attempted to create a single map, but it turned out well. When we actually did it, it was brought home to the staff very clearly and concretely that this was the kind of target we could work towards.
>Being able to visualize your target is incredibly significant, especially with a game on this scale.
>Right. It also made us aware of how much time we'd need to spend to produce one section, which was really great. But it was pretty grueling all the same! (laughs)
>When that first chapter was made with Kojima-san's cooperation, I could look at it and say "And the final product will be even better than this!" That is to say, I got an image of what the end result would be like. I think it was incredibly important for both Nintendo and Monolith Soft to both be able to share this common image.
Is it any wonder that Monolith Soft is in high spirits with new X?
yes, my bad I am thinking of origins. my bad. either way it was origins that inspired takahashi IIRC. before that Takahashi was depressed over Xenosaga Episode I failing and Episode II being a disaster pre and post release.
I know what I'm basing my avatar off of now
>either way it was origins that inspired takahashi IIRC. before that Takahashi was depressed over Xenosaga Episode I failing and Episode II being a disaster pre and post release.
where did he say that?
First the Screw Attack class, now Gravity Suit armor. The more I learn about this game, the more I feel like I should make Samus-ish MC. After all, you are killing aliens on an hostile and mysterious planet.
These eyes, they look familiar
Wait a minute...
>Three pages of eyes
in some interview somewhere. I can't be bothered to find it for you, but I do recall him saying the success of origins got him out of his funk and taught him that simpler stories can work.
either that or soma bringer.
also it is well documented takahashi felt extremely bad about not reaching his goals (sales and non sales related) with Episode I. That is why he said fuck it and took a back seat with Episode II and III.
I would lean more on Soma Bringer lifting him out of his creative funk since his wife participated in that. But I wonder what Soraya Saga is doing now aside from being a traditional japanese housewife.
We already know. There's a list of voices to choose from.
see http://xenobladex.jp/character/avatar.html and https://docs.google.com/document/d/1C6LVjUy4ZJ7d17TWK2kwsDxawQTnFWnEV8ApkwWP8tI/pub#id.llefqgnnbie6 for translation
Just release the Jap audio as a downloadable patch to store on the HD or make the game come with a second disc that has the patch on it like with Dragon's Dogma.
Question is if Nintendo would be up for it.
There's a whole load of cool voices for a VA-fag like myself. It will be hard for Nintendo to beat them unless they pull something on par with Xenoblade.
Since when are patches dlc? Have you really been so indoctrinated by 4chan that you can't think for yourself?
Why do you faggots keep getting lured with bait?
We just don't want FFXV-kun to cease existing.
I know its a b8... But heck... I'l reply it anyway to roast you with delight into a deluxe cannibalism dinner for Siberians.
I remember when people were jumping to conclusion that Wii U is weaker than X360/PS3 and how are visuals of XCX laughable? Compare it to FFXIII or TOX2/TOZ which pale in comparison to XCX.
720P 30FPS in 2015 is fine, look at smartphone/tablet plebs playing original Bioshock at 320P...
RPG =/= MMO and its not offline since XCX loosely connects you with up to 32 players for trading and communicating and you have online quests up to 4 players.
Nothing wrong with character animation, move along pleb and auto attacks are better than what FFXV will have which is button mashing rather than having something somewhat similar to PSO/SO.
You have people in Monolith Soft that worked on Chrono Trigger, Xenogear(which was originally planned to be Final Fantasy VII), Final Fantasy and Front Mission series, SaGA, etc...
just do what I do and play all the multiplats at 1080p on a 4 year old rig with a 6950 and a stock 2500.
works fine for me, and I get to play my wii U games. only games I'm missing out on are bloodborne, witcher is coming to PC and I've never been a huge fan of purseowners.
FF7 still has enough similarities with Xenogears in script alone, however.
It's obviously based on that very proposal Takahashi and Saga did back in the day, but not as dark as it could've been.
I know and...?
Smartphones and tablets have 1080P+ displays, that does not mean that they are capable of rendering a game at their native resolution except upscale the pixels, Bioshock is rendered at 320P on latest iPad and that is a down port of a Xbox 360 game... Its no different than running Borderlands on a Vita... -_-"
no, it wasn't planned. there is a difference in planned and proposed.
planned is "make this FFVII". proposed is "can I make this into FFVII?".
I'm guessing english isn't your first language, spic.
English is not my first language, but you're an idiot. They were tasked to create concept for Final Fantasy VII so it was planned, but then when submitting their ideas/progress they were denied...
It was not out of the blue that they proposed Final Fantasy VII, they were tasked to make a concept for the game then superiors said that its a no go. Xenogears was planned as Final Fantasy VII by people that worked on Final Fantasy VII and Xenogears and Xenogears became its own project.
>DS, like every other Nintendo handheld has no region coding
those were the days
>Xenogears was a better game than FF7
>XCX will be better than FF15
Nice opinion. Too bad it's actually shit.
>there are people who aren't going to have the slutty blonde loli in their party
you're correct I just looked and it wasn't, but may I remind you that FF7 didn't invent "Sephirot". It's a thing from Hebrew mythology.
Anyways the only connection I can make between FF7 and Xenogears is both main protags having mental issues, but that is a common trope in media in general, especially in the late 90s.
He wasn't originally made of people, he was a weapons system made by humanity that went rogue, he created the people of the planet so he could use their tissue to fix his body and carry on his war in the galaxy
>implying I don't want to be the little girl.
also the people on the 'earth' you play on in Xenogears aren't 'people'. they are just biological lifeforms made from deus that resemble people. deus made everything on that planet. the real humans are far away from where xenogears takes place.
