The only games I gave a shit about last gen were Ace Combat 6, Chromehounds, and Armored Cores.

Since Sega is almost going bankrupt, Catherine and Persona 4 Arena will be on PC eventually, just a matter of time.

Demon's Souls, Nier, Vanquish, Dragons Dogma were my favourites.

Valkyria Chronicles was but that finally came to PC after 6 years.

It's possible to make turn based combat good if you can turn that animations off, but I'm afraid that doesn't happen much these days.

The game is built on the rock paper scissor style with the weapons. You're supposed to counter the enemies weapons with your own.

I actually really liked the one button combat. It made it very rhythmic, and when you got the feel for it there was a certain harmony to it. It all complimented the flowing minimalist style present in the visuals perfectly.

I think most people had no clue that you could even do combos by pressing the attack button fast or slow or holding, etc

I mostly liked the narrative style of the game. The visual style of each level tells just as much about the story as the dialogue does. Most people don't take the time to look at things like this though, and just write the game up as being "pretty".

The motorcycle level being used to represent the unnatural technology Azazel gave to the humans, the pop concert scene being used to represent the human's love for that particular fallen angel (they thought of him like we might think of a pop star today), the festival level with fireworks and singing children being used to represent how happy the humans were living with the fallen angels, and so on. It was so subtle, but there was so much thought put into each and every thing in the game.

After you beat the Arland series, start on Dusk. Ayesha just got a plus version on vita and Escha is coming to vita soon as well. Shallie the newest game, gets released on PS3 in like a week.
