1)Pixel graphics. Lazy for the most part unless well done (see Metal Slug or Mercenary Kings)
2)Platformers. Stop it.
3)'Retro'. Which is a code word for my pixel art sucks so it looks old amicoolyet xDD
And of course the indie dev mentality and look doesn't help. Granted I'm generalizing as there are good indie games, they're just very rare.
Because most indie games are just a cool idea implemented poorly, a basic platformer with pixel graphics or a combination of the two.
I've noticed a number of devs jumping ship to low-poly 3d stuff, and it's got me hyped as fuck.
Low-poly can look so good if the art direction is right. Shit be sleek as hell.
I went into it expecting a generic retroshit RPG and came out generally impressed with how original it was.
>that feel when startled by shitty pixel grafics
seriously this dude can do spoopy shit with just pixels.
i love his interpretation of post apocalyptic mutants just because theyre so surprisingly creepy
It's funny because the game isn't even a horror game, it's just a pixel RPG, yet it's unsettled more more than most triple A 3D Horror games out there.
WHAT THE FUCK IS THIS GAME
