The thread was doomed from the beginning anyway
Steelframe buildings have gone through worse fires and still stand.
Nothing. Utterly nothing. Everyone is expecting things, but like always there will be doing.
Valve are simply making too much money from TF2, DOTA2, and Steam to bother making video games. Portal 2 was their last story based game.
>"Valve is showing off a new family of Steam devices at Game Developers Conference next week. At GDC, Valve will show off a refined Steam controller, new living room devices, and a Steam virtual reality hardware system"
>implying their won't be a game announcement
Did anyone else just get a pop up on steam right now saying "Steam has finished downloading SteamVR"
I couldn't get a screenshot, went to fast, and it isn't even in my download list. I'm downloading HL2 right now if that matters.
Not a god damn thing. They don't have to do SHIT, because Steam is basically an auto-money business.
MAYBE a console just for the sake of experimenting, but their future doesn't depend on it.
Much like /v/, Valve isn't really about video games these days.
>Valve isn't really about games these days
>in the last few years they released Portal 2, Dota 2 and updated TF2
>Has been confirmed that they are working on Hl3 and L4D3
>But they are not out so lel they don't make games :^)
>average conference with no real news
>on the way out gabe says
>"oh by the way guys, orange box 2" and leaves
Best possible outcome? ok:
>gabe walks on
>here at valve we realize that there is a stigma surrounding the number 3 when it comes to our sequels
>today we shall break that stigma
>HL3, L4D3 and TF3/portal 3 announced
>can buy the games discounted in a new orange box
>valve wins the internet and /v/ blows up
The new Vulkan API (OpenGL 5) which may basically be Mantle for all cards and OSes.
Source 2 Demos, possibly showing off parts of Left4Dead 3
SteamOS 1.0, Steam Machine and Steam controller launch dates.
>>gabe walks on
>>here at valve we realize that there is a stigma surrounding the number 3 when it comes to our sequels
>>To break that stigma, we will be naming our VR device "VR3".
>>As an added bonus we are announcing our first VR3 exclusive title: Ricochet 2, which will be included with every VR3 purchase
>Gabe waddles onto stage
>The crowd is silent with anticipation
>He holds up 1 finger
>The crowd looks confused
>Then 2 fingers
>The crowd starts getting antsy a few whispers can be heard
>Then 3 fingers
>The crowd bursts into treats in disbelief, could it be? Has it finally arrived?
>Gabe looks at his hand confused
>Puts 1 finger back down
>"Before i headed out i just wanted to say, Peace"
>Gabe rolls off of the stage towards the nearest hotdog stand
>Gabe walks onto stage
>Here at Valve we realize that in the past we've had a problem with the number three.
>That's why we're announcing three brand new Steam Machines today running SteamOS 3.0
>Also 3 big new third party developers on board with SteamOS with 3 big games to announce.
>The crowd of Windows users starts to become frantic for some sign that Valve has something for them
>Gabe pauses in his presentation about how Vulkan is years ahead of DirectX
>Oh one last thing.
>Half Life 3
>The crowds jaws drop to the floor, jubilation ensues
>Gabe motions to the screen where a demo of the game appears with graphics the likes of which no one has ever seen before.
>Will be SteamOS/Linux exclusive
>The wailing and gnashing of teeth as the frantic crowd rips their clothes in anguish will be heard around the world.
>Gaben then ascends into heaven, his work being done.
