Nintendo's sitting on Scrooge McDuck-tier reserves of money - they could absolutely weather several generations worth of underperforming consoles. If the fucking Virtual Boy couldn't kill them, nothing can. That being said, there's certainly the risk of them playing it safe with more Mario rehashes or selling out with F2P mobile shit, but at the same time, their stubbornness and slowness to adapt might prevent that for a while.
